A New York Christmas Wedding (2020)
I love this movie!
The critics tear it apart for reasons most viewers do not even notice, technical things, cinematography and such. The story is fresh and complex enough to warrant watching it over and over. This is the first LGBTQ Christmas movie I've ever seen, and I love it and will recommend it to my friends. Kudos to Netflix for taking a chance on it.
McLeod's Daughters (2001)
Why I rated it 4 out of 10 stars.
I absolutely loved this show the first three seasons. The death of Claire McLeod broke my heart just as it did to every fan. After that there were some great characters, but it became much like a soap opera for awhile. Each time I fell in love with a character they left or died. This show has so much tragedy I'm almost sorry I watched it all the way through. However, The characters are complex with interesting back stories. On character development and acting this drama is top notch.
The storyline could use more laughter and less grief in my opinion. It lacks the balance we hope to find in life. Balance between life and death, tragedy and happiness.
I do very much like the supernatural themes, ghosts, and characters who connect with the past or the future. They are wonderful and I will have to give it one more star from my initial four. My rating is mostly based on emotion, my heart was broken too many times in the series.
The Indian Doctor (2010)
Quite engaging series.
I binged watched all three seasons on Hulu in one day. I am a fan of Ayesha Dharker which is why I started the series, but now I am also a fan of Sanjeev Bhaskar, who plays the doctor. They both have the ability to communicate with their eyes and with facial expressions. They are amazing actors.
The plot started out about adapting to a new culture and got better from there. I don't know why the popularity of the series went down because the story became more engaging with each episode. Perhaps the lack of violence, sex and profanity did it in. I wish we had more seasons of this series and others like it.
