Editing don'ts

Hey there, I usually like to keep reviews positive, but also need to keep integrity of my professional opinion. So, her goes.... I found this movie to have great acting and characters. But this movie is a lesson on how not to edit. many bad cuts that made me think my streaming was interrupted, but playing back realized it was fine. Many scenes did not do anything for the story, such as some classroom scenes. This 150 minute movie could have got the story across edited to less than 100. About 2/3 the way in, there is a minute pan shot of New York that ends up panning up to the sky. Why???? Don't understand why this waste of a minute was left in the movie, as it did nothing for the story. I have a feeling I watched a web directors cut, and not a theatrical release. Thank god I watch on a comp player that allows 1.5 times play back so I actually did watch this in under 100.

I can't believe I actually watched the whole thing

Why did we watch this whole mess. It starts on a french train in modern day, and ends up going to 2 other temporal eras, with confusion on the connection of them all. Character development was completely backwards and uninteresting, like we are supposed to know the ending first, and the beginning later. If there is a second series, we will not be watching. We don't find it entertaining, but rather self indulgent writing of the creators.

Don't listen to the haters.... This show is funny. There is a wide dichotomy of ratings here from 2 to 10, so I rated it a 10 to certify that this really is a funny show. Can't wait for more episodes to see where the characters go to next. I wish haters would just turn their computers off and not bother to report when they really don't know what they're talking about. Tell your priest, not us.Those same haters love shows like "this is us" that is a show that just ping pongs a confusing timeline, and is now in Vietnam which nobody wants to see.

When this show started, it was a cute family dramedy. This episode was a vietnam war movie. So confused. Not funny. Badly written. As of this message, i will no longer try to watch in hopes that it will get better. It won't. It just gets worse.

How does this guy still get work when most sitcoms he touches fail? One dimensional character, tired, old, and over used. There are much funnier stereotypes of the fat loudmouth neighbor them CTE.

Maniac (2018)

Weird but watchable

This was a weird show, but very likable. Westworld is weird, but is unwatchable because you can't follow the story. It takes you all over the place with little in the middle. This show is weird too, but you always could come back to the common place and time in the drug trial. the comical element also keeps it watchable, and some moments made me tear up. The performances are grade A and the actors should be proud. I am not sure if there will be a second series as it ends happily with the 2 driving to their happy place, seemingly cured. If I was asked to ink a second series, I might pick it up in Greta's world of "POP" Psychology. That would lend itself well to some very zany antics with Sally Field really being the right person to head up the "Madness". It would also lend itself to Emma and Jonah returning in a capacity of maybe being the "Sanity" in Sally's "Madness" world. If the writers take this idea, please be fair to give me at least a "Story by" credit, or even reach out for my treatment. thanks for readying.

Convoluted and uninteresting

I don't understand this show. I have been giving it every chance to win me over, but it has yet to do so in 4 years of episodes. I kind of got it at first as it was a simple story of cheating on his wife while loving her so much to take the jail time for her. But I can't follow it anymore as there is too many characters with huge plot holes and pointless directions off main story.... caused by the long period of time passing more quickly than the story telling has allowed.

You only need to watch the trailer to see this movie is awful. How did this movie even get made??? My son made a movie in high school better than this! I should say WAY better than this. Might be the worst movie I never watched thanks to the horrible trailer. Funny... Usually a trailer makes you want to watch. But this trailer was so bad it saved me 134 minutes of my precious life. Thanks.
