It (2017)
Clowns are Simply the Best
What a fun movie about clowns and circuses! My kids, Leliana and Tony, loved it! I thought the clown was so charming and kid-friendly. It's such a relief that we finally found a clown movie that doesn't portray them in a terrifying way. Those kids and teenagers really show the meaning of true friendship. And the parents were such great examples!
I bought my little daughter a red balloon and poster to hang in her room. Maybe we'll take a trip to the circus someday to watch Pennywise the Dancing Clown.
*But seriously, this is a great horror movie. Heck of a lot scarier than the original.
The Revenant (2015)
Very Educational Film for the Kids
Wow! Me and my kids, Leliana and Tony, learned so much about survival and wildlife from this movie (almost reminded me of my days in the military).
Leliana was a huge fan of the bear! It was sooo cute! We had to buy a custom-made stuffed animal of it to put next to her Black Phillip toy. The whole movie after the bear scene, she kept asking me if the bear was going to be alright.
The Revenant does such a good job of setting the stage for tons of family fun! It taught my kids how to make a fire, swim through waterfalls, and cauterize wounds. Very educational!
10/10
Dead Silence (2007)
A Cute Story About Dolls
Wow, where to begin with this movie... I took my two kids, Leliana and Tony, to see it in theaters and we were not disappointed!
This movie was perfect for my kids, cause they love dolls and stuff like that. It was very family-friendly, taught good lessons about being nice to old people, and it even inspired my daughter's new hobby of collecting dolls! Billy is just so charming, with his little tuxedo and red bow-tie. I think it's funny that this movie got misplaced in the "horror" genre.
Anyways, 10/10! Very cute movie.
*Ok, but seriously, this movie scared the crap out of me...
The Hallow (2015)
A Wonderful Fairytale for the Kids!
I was a little hesitant about taking Leliana and Tony to this one, but since they liked The Witch so much, I decided why not?
It was so worth it! The fairies were beautiful, the mommy and daddy were so nice, and the baby was adorable! I just thought it was wonderful how the fairies offered to babysit for free, and they took such good care of Finn. Heck, they're probably better parents than me and my husband! And it was so touching when the mom took care of the little fairy baby.
After the movie, Leliana kept asking me if she could live with fairies too. I said of course she could, so now we're planning a trip to Ireland next month. She's so excited!
The VVitch: A New-England Folktale (2015)
My kids loved it!
The Witch is a movie about a religious family that works together on a farm and protects each other from evil influences. This is the perfect movie for Christian families like mine! It teaches good morals and the power of family. Your kids will laugh at the funny witch and sing the "Black Phillip" song with the adorable twins. My three-year-old son loved the talking goat so much, we had to get him a custom-made stuffed animal, and he sleeps with it every night. My daughter runs around the house naked and pretends to fly just like Thomasin. That brave young lady is such a good role model! My family loved this movie so much, we bought fifty copies and handed them out to all our friends so their kids could enjoy it too!
Saw III (2006)
Cutest Movie Since Finding Nemo
Enter the enchanting world of Jigsaw, where your kids can watch as people explore a very special theme park with cool rides and fun games. Your children will love solving the puzzles with the characters step by step. This is a perfect movie for critical thinking, common sense, forgiveness, and being a good sport. Saw III tells the story of a sad man who must learn to forgive his best friend. On the way, he plays lots of games and sets a good example by following rules. Your child will also learn and grow with the main character as he demonstrates good sportsmanship. Such a sweet movie, and perfect for the family!
