Lucky You (2007)
Removing four stars for the relationship arc
They tried to shove the relationship arc down our throats with this and the female character played was so so awful that it basically ruined the whole movie.
This was the first time that I actually didn't want to see them making out.
They could have stuck to just Poker and hadn't card about the relationship arc, it maybe should have gotten another actress who could play the part better.
However, the movie was burned into my memory because I saw it as a kid and the bullets scene was still in my head and I revisited in my adult live having watched the movie as a kid who didn't understand one thing.
I was impressed by the movie and it's still a worthy watch, just skip all the relationship thing.
The Pale Blue Eye (2022)
Didn't expect Harry to be so great
My God the casting of actors was so hood that even if it was a s#!t stort, it would have worked anyways.
But to see such talented actors and seeing Harry come out on his own with such a high level of acting was absolutely thrilling.
No words on Christian Bale, I mean how do you prepare your acting for unusual situations like this. There is js no way to prepare, and yet he delivered. And everyone else did play their part too.
I would say to watch the movie on headphones or good speakers as the sound is too good and there a lot of whispering about too and it's hard to make out words unless your sound system is great.
Facing the Giants (2006)
I hate that I love it
It contains all that preaching stuff about the god and all but there is a slight truth to a lot of it.
There are many flaws in the movie and the way it somethimes pushes you towards Jesus and Bible can be a bit irritating for those of not this faith.
But I urge you to keep those flaws aside and stick to the message given.
I am the guy that makes jokes about this stuff regularly but I also know when life gets really tough, and you feel completely lost like the family in the beginning of the movie, there is not much you can do than to prepare your fields for the rain.
This movie has given me the mantra about dealing with life. If everything is going crazy and you don't know what to do, just prepare your fields for the rain.
P. S: Yes, I know it might seem cringy so I suggest you watch this movie alone. Having a company, you might want to mock the hell out of movie because we chose comedy everytime something really bothering comes along.
Cabin Fever (2002)
Couldn't watch past 20mins
In the beginning of the 20 minutes of the movies, sex was referenced like 90% of the time. Either it was shown on the scene or the characters kept talking about it. It was just too much for me to handle.
This might have been an okay title for kids when the movie was released but it's not worth a watch now in 2023.
If you want to see nudity and sex, there are much much better content. If you want to see horror movie, watch Hereditary or Coherence. Those movies are in a league of their own. This is absolutely nothing compared to those movies.
I am having a hard time justifying why to watch this movie at all.
Panic Room (2002)
Jodie bad, Foster Good
Foster saved the movie. He is known to be an amazing actor and even in a movie with not much interesting things to rely on, he kept the tension going. He made the movie worth watching.
Jodie, on the other hand, doesn't know how to act. It would have been better to go with an actress who is less beautiful but knows acting enough to keep up with the great Foster.
Maybe that's the issue with this movie. Bad casting. If you had gone with some attractive looking okayish actor, this movie would have been balanced, it would have been $h!t but atleast the actors would have complemented each other.
Never watching any movie Jodie is in anymore.
Epic Movie (2007)
Loved it as a little kid and had to get myself checked up
This was an amazing movie for a 6-7 years old. There is no need to add so many movie references as the intended audience for this movie would not have watched so many movies owing to the fact that they are still in kindergarten.
The amount of poop and pee jokes in this movie alone will make little kids roll with laughter.
And the other times they would be cringing too like the rest of the adults while watching the other parts of the movie.
There was no need to give this movie a R Rating since there is literally a 4 seconds clip of a naked girl coming out of a cupboard. Remove that clip and the movie becomes again targeted for the intended audience of 6-7 years old.
Outbreak (1995)
Solid Movie
Solid movie. Well scripted out. No BS. Just plain old common sense with a bit if drama and a bit if mystery.
It's hard to find such kind of movies in 2023. The movie isn't trying to be everything at once. There is a serious tone from the beginning of the movie to the end.
Every actor did their job well. You hate the character you are supposed to be hating and you love the character you're supposed to be loving.
It's such great acting which some country like India doesn't get because we follow nepotism to it's deepest core. Even if someone can't act, he is an actor in the next big movie just because he is a son of someone. Compare that to Hollywood, everyone is there because they actually did the acting and did it beautifully.
Evolution (2001)
Loved it as a kid, love it as an adult. Full of humour
"There is always time for lubricant"
"Doesn't matter, it's for my a$$"
"Do we get the nobel prize in installments or one time"
I had some genuine laughs throughout this movie. I remember watching this movie as a kid and loving it back then and after watching it as an adult I can say they don't make movies like this anymore.
The annoying girl character is played so beautifully that it doesn't come off as cringy. All the other actors have out the work in and it shows.
The story keeps you hooked and there are genuine climaxes and stuff to follow through. Highly recommended even after two decades of it's release.
The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
Worst pick of actors
Except the main two characters, everyone else feels like they are acting. Their acting skills are way too unpolished for a movie that has had three parts already.
I love Neil Patrick Harris but he clearly doesn't belong in a movie like this, and neither the other actresses especially that Indian lady.
That is my problem with the movie. The movie still works. It's still an okayish film considering how other franchises just butcher their reputation with a reboot. It's the selection of actors that I had the issue with.
Also, too add insult to injury, what is comedy doing in this type of movie is beyond me. We know stuff can be cringy without comedy but we take the seriousness of the situation better if there is no comedy involved.
Trying to make a comedy routine to get rid of the cringiness just induces more cringiness.
MH370: The Plane That Disappeared (2023)
20% actual investigation 80% drama
This has to be the most infuriating show I have watched recently. They knew they didn't have content of more than one hour but they still stretched it to three episodes.
Three long painful episodes. Just people talking and not even talking about the important stuff, just something random.
I have watched all the Mayday episodes and I love investigation shows. This is not one. It's a drama documentary at the very least.
They themselves spoiled the whole show in the starting 2-3 minutes and once you have basically told everything you had, there is nothing more to expect.
It could have been a decent 1 hour movie but they had to go out of their way to add stupid runtime just for the sake of it.
How I Met Your Mother (2005)
Crap Show but got me through tough time in life so 10
The jokes are too much reliant on pop culture. The decisions made in the long term by characters don't make any sense.
It's just drama for the sake of drama and c
broken comedy spilled everywhere.
I tried watching the show again but I couldn't.
And yet, I rate it 10 out of 10 because for some reason this show took me through the worst time in my life. I always liked to know I am like Ted even though I am not but the emotions he feels especially the downs really helped me a lot to get through life when it was airing it's final two seasons.
Loved the ending and to this I get a tear in my eyes when I see the last scene.
Snowpiercer (2020)
Not captivating enough
I am not exactly sure what it is but this show is just not captivating enough.
I think it's large part due to the direction and acting. Even if the story is usable, the acting keeps it down.
Or maybe it's the story. I guess I expected a lot more from the premise of the story only to find a story that would have worked even without an apocalypse and a train going round and round.
Yes, I guess that is it. The story works without the initial premise of apocalypse and the train. That's my problem with it. It's like the interal human threats are the only ones that exist and nothing outside the world impacts it.
Some dialogue is just lazy like the strawberry dialogue in the inital episode and the cherry, "You both are going to have a huge day."
I just couldn't sit through the first two episodes. Will watch the movie, so maybe that will not let me down.
Mission: Impossible II (2000)
More like Love Impossible
What is the point of adding so much love and sexual tension and relationship into an action movie is beyond me. It was basically more than half the movie. Everything kept sorrounding this one girl and everything feels like it's an end to make them mate and have kids and live long ever after.
I stopped counting all the stereotypes on my hand after it happened so much. It shouldn't be like this.
Creating drama and suspense even if it doesn't make sense is atrocious. And everyone just using the same face cover thing from the first movie so you keep guessing who is who even when you see it coming a mile away.
Sense8 (2015)
Never cared to finish the last two episodes
Watched it with my girlfriend who liked terrible shows like this and Hand Maid's Tale and Money Heist and Fleabag.
It's similar thing with this series too. Just average show with a lot of nudity and sex added in. It's like this show keeps pushing LGBTQ down my throat. I know, I get LFBTQ, stop shuvving it for goodness sake.
I wouldn't be surprised if the high ratings was due to the LGBTQ people voting something they liked.
And for all you who think the romantic love story of the main two characters is the most amazing thing, watching something that's actually romantic. How can this even be allowed in the list of ...
Death Note: Desu nôto (2015)
Dubmed down soap opera version of the original
Everything is made for the camera and assuming that people are stupid who are watching this.
Watching the first episode itself I laughed so hard when I saw L actually smirking like a stupid idiot in the first episode itself when he is revealed for the first time.
They ruined the characters of what they were supposed to be and after watching this I have a humble pledge to all Japanese audience, stop making live action remakes of your own animes. Your animes and mangas are amazing but don't try to make tv shows like these.
Just because you did good in manga doesn't mean you can replicate the same in live action TV show. Watching your TV shows makes me realize you are just like India, hiring people either because of nepotism or because they are good looking but never actually of how they act.
The Black Phone (2021)
Misleading trailer As bad as stranger things
It reminds me of one of the bad episodes of Stranger things. It was absolute waste of time to watch and wouldn't recommend.
It's full of dumb stupid things and the director things just because there is violence or swearing in the movie, it has character.
NO IT DOESN'T.
It's an ill excuse to stop working and putting in hard work. This is at best a 15 mins short movie. Everything has been stretched to it's absolute limits and the fact that they put magic in this movie makes no sense.
If the movie needs character, use whatever needs you deem necessary like swearing, nudity, kidnapping, it doesn't matter. It's the cause not the effect.
Windfall (2022)
Good entertainment. Don't expect much.
Good entertainment movie. It's a break from a lot of movies out there that are too thrilling or action or jam packed. Clean, simple, theatrical like drama that's easy to watch.
Don't expect much from this movie.
Top Secret UFO Projects: Declassified (2021)
Actual Facts mixed with humans that were high
The actual verifiable facts are amazing but when some eyewitness accounts are shown, it's the height of how high a human can get.
I mean seriously, you can tell when someone is just making stuff.
What I am more concerned is that they didn't explain about every video captured phenomenon that they showed about.
The Handmaid's Tale (2017)
What a killjoy
I love my girlfriend who suggested this but I can't watch it any more than two episodes.
It's in the same boat as Fleabag, Money Heist and Sense8...All recommend by my girlfriend.
I am contemplating breaking up with her due to this show.
I kept waiting for an actual story to start but sadly it didn't come. Didn't want to waste any more hours trying to empathize with something that wasn't introduced properly.
Everything it felt like something good would happen, it would turn out to be sh,!t.
iBoy (2017)
Amazing movie, if you're less than 9
It's a pretty good movie I would had loved as a 9 year old kid. Any year more than that it's absolute dog poop.
I stopped counting the number if plot holes and the ignorance of basic common sense of this movie.
It's as if someone olayed Watch Dogs and wanted to profit from that games popularity.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine: The Good Ones (2021)
wtf happened
What a stupid episode. What's the use of putting politics in this episode.
Captain Marvel (2019)
Brie Larson was a mistake
This was boring from the first moment of the show. It's like this movie was needed to impress the feminist's out there. This movie is as bad as the new Wonder woman. All man are bad and women are good. Contrast it with the other women superhero Natasha, and you understand the difference.
Also, the actors don't feel genuine. Going with Brie Larson was a mistake. She doesn't belong in movie which require deep acting.
Iron Man (2008)
Jeff Bridges with Robert nailed it.
The moment. Jeff Bridges talk to Robert after paralyzing him is the defining moment of the level of acting in this movie, not just from Robert but from Jeff Bridges.
Jeff Bridges doesn't need a amplified voice to sound scary. He is scary.
Everyone played an amazing roles. Would have loved it if it was 18+ and real violence and gore and swearing were actually allowed but still an amazing start to a movie.
BTW Terrance was not the most amazing. He was okay but not at the level of other actors. Thank god he was replaced later.
Kim's Convenience (2016)
Pretty good to watch mindlessly
I was looking for a show to watch between doing work and something not too intense but a comedy show. It's pretty much that.
Laxmii (2020)
What kind of a line is this?
"Tum jitna soch bhi nahi sakti usse jyada khareed ke de sakta hu"
"I can buy stuff for you that you can't even dream of,"
NOT Get you, buy you.
This line pretty much sums up the movie.
