Halloween (2007)
Oh Laurie
It is very obvious that director Rob Zombie was a huge fan of the original Halloween movies. He excelled on combining various plots together and giving Michael Myers more of a backstory. Yet as soon as we are introduced to Laurie Strode the movie goes south very fast. Her character is very annoying and acts like the typical teenager, very different from Jamie Lee Curtis's version.
Pieces of a Woman (2020)
Vanessa's Opus
Shia LaBeouf is an incredibly problematic actor, so only watch the first 45 minutes and you'll be blown away by Vanessa Kirby. She was the only reason I watched this and she gives such a raw, powerful, and natural depiction of birth that is so rarely shown on screen.
Challenger: The Final Flight (2020)
A Reminder for the Next Generation
Many born in the 90's have no recollection of a time when space exploration failed. This documentary looks at the successes of NASA in terms of inclusion during the 1970's and 80's. Then looked at how NASA got greedy and tried to do too many things at once, 7 great people were sacrificed in this greediness in January of 1986.
Game of Thrones (2011)
Horrible Entertainment
I truly tried to give this show a chance. I watched the first season and as four time rape survivor I was completely mortified at what is being called the "greatest show of all time." The writers should be ashamed of themselves as they glorified the rape scenes in the book and made them more entertaining for viewers. I understand that this stuff would have taken place during medival times but the need to show it graphically and so often is completely unnecessary! So glad the show only has one season left!
