Leave the World Behind (2023)
Did AI write this nonsense
I'm assuming AI wrote this, as no actual humans would act so ridiculously idiotic! Also, if power is out, how was the tv still making static and garage doors opening. How are planes and ships crashing due to whatever-this-is yet the cars and coffee makers still work? (Hint- I good writer would be consistent, a great writer would explain)
What happened to all the people on the beach or at the store? They just disappeared apparently.
Seriously, I can NOT get over how utterly stupid these characters are! Most people would compare and contrast information and try to figure out what is going on. These imbeciles have broken bizarre conversations as if they're trying to put on a play. Mostly I'm wondering how these good actors read this dialogue and said 'sign me up!'
Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities (2022)
Just bad... really really bad
I was beyond excited about this when I first heard about it. As someone who loved Twilight Zone, Amazing Stories and Tales from the Crypt; I thought we were going to get that level of storytelling. But that's the difference, those had actual stories, no illogical nonsense that goes absolutely no where. The blood, goo and violence was overly gratuitous.
As with most film/tv... more focus on the actual script and you're more than likely to have a great product. This was all bodily fluid production and no story substance. Super disappointed.
I'm trying to think of a positive thing to say since the revues require 600 characters and am coming up short. It was shot well and production quality was nice... unfortunately, that doesn't make it worth your time.
True Crime Story: Indefensible (2021)
Get a different host
I actually don't mind the sarcasm the host brings... but her lisp is super annoying!!! (Dear lord have we hit the real-life Harrison Bergeron moment of hosts that aren't the best?😬) Also, she's super agressive and condescending in her interviewing.... and with a more professional interviewer, they could prob have a better outcome and more thoughtful discussions. This would make it a much better series!
But I gave it a higher score than 1-for-the-awful-host because I do like the material and what it's trying to expose! With a better and more professional presenter, this could actually be a great series.
The Handmaid's Tale (2017)
The close-ups are obnoxious
What's with all the close-ups of Elizabeth Moss's face? It only exaggerates her horrible acting... blinking really fast/twitchy eyelid with a slack-jawed look is NOT acting! Add that to the fact her character is obnoxious and erratic and the characters do actions that make no sense... ugh, this series does such disservice to the brilliant book it's based on.
I do like some of the other storylines and actors, and while I know 'June' is the main character, it would be better if we focused more on some of the other characters....
Is Scientology that prevalent in Hollywood that horrible actors like Moss get work due to connections? Cause it's def not based on talent!
