Savage Harvest (1981)
Scary... not for under 10 kids...
Well cheers........ I saw this movie about 14 years back when I was six or seven years old........ So I just remember the outline of the story and a few scenes here and there......... Though What I do remember for sure is that It scared the hell outta me even though there was about six more people watching with me........... It was quite some time thereafter that I was able to get it outta my mind...........About when I entered my teens........It gets scarier towards the end........It was haunting ........ Maybe I wuz a sissy, but I'm sure I ain't the only one around...... Lions comin from chimney... encroaching upon your house... breaking through the doors.... Now thats scary... But I guess it definitely must have been too good and too real to scare me like that.... And sure must be as difficult as hell to train those lions like that...... Cheers ... Enjoy.... Hallelujah...
Mystic River (2003)
In the top 250? ... I can't digest that.
Well, Well.... The three guys played their role pretty well... thats the good part... otherwise it looked like an ordinary detective story... nothing better than nancy drew or hardy boy mysteries... and the ending really put me off... the killing of Dave Boyle ( thats got to be in the novel, so we cant blame Clint for that ), and the last scene is inexplicable. Why sean devine would make a trigger-pulling sign at jimmy don't make any sense, and is too much to be left on the viewers imagination... Jimmy killed a guy and Annabeth behaves like he kills one everyday, and she's fine with it, even though Dave had given them moral support throughout after katie's death... Celeste is shattered for no fault of hers... Sad endings do put me off...
The Day of the Jackal (1973)
Grossly overrated.... disgrace to the novel
I bought the DVD considering the fame of the novel. The movie was a big disappointment. Pathetic direction, mediocre actors, non-existent music. Edward Fox himself has done the worst job. He in no way fits the description of the jackal in the novel, where he is supposed be well built, with grey cloudy eyes. The scene where the jackal kills the forger is beautifully portrayed in the novel, whereas in the movie its a flop. The story as described in the novel has not been followed at many places. Each and every actor contributes to the disappointment.
The direction and photography too are poor. When I logged on to check the reviews, I expected it to be full of jeers, though again I was wrong...
