In the Heat of the Night: December Days (1990)
Ken Curtis is Awesome!
So great to see Ken Curtis pop up on In The Heat of the Night. He does his masterful "hick" character. Different from the others, but still related! As previously stated, Curtis character turns out to provide vital info on the death of the old lady. He always seems to observe little side events that turn out to be critical! Anything with Curtis is a fun watch!
Louise Fletcher does a great job in her role. Tough and no nonsense!
Carroll O'Connor provides Gillespie with his down to earth, common sense approach. His touches of humor are usually a bit biting. He does get his point across!
Great episode!
Gunsmoke: The Queue (1955)
Sebastian Cabot?
I liked this episode. Marshall Dillon looks so young!
Kind of a well-used premise. A Chinese man arrived in town. A group of bigots would rather hurt him, but settle in cutting off his pigtail. I remember similar episodes on The Rifleman and on Bonanza.
That I enjoy the about this episode is seeing Sebastian Cabot! I don't think I ever remember seeing him in such a different role! Not Santa, not an English Gentleman, but as a brash talking you-ha in a group of ne'er do wells. Love it! Seeing Mr. French in grubby clothes with a draft beer is fantastic!
It's a30 minute episode from season 1.
I do recommend this episode!
A Rage to Live (1965)
I love Suzanne Pleshette!
I had never seen this movie. Anything with Miss Pleshette is enjoyable, no matter if she's playing this heiress, or if she's playing Leona Helmsley!
This movie is most certainly enjoyable. Like someone else said, kind of soapy. It wouldn't win an Oscar, but it believable. It probably happens often! Great cast!
The characters are wealthy. I loved the cars, the wardrobe is fantastic. There's lots of outdoor scenes, which makes for much more interesting cinematography. I'll probably watch it a couple of more times on YouTube to catch more of the subtle details (Like the interior decorating in the home!). The fashion and interiors are fascinating!
A great 60s drama. I imagine this content was pretty controversial at the time. It's still entertaining now!
A couple of bonus appearances- Aneta Corsault from "The Andy Grinch Show" and Brett Somers from "Match Game!!
Both uncredited.
Go ahead and watch it!
White Mama (1980)
Miss Davis has a wonderful performance!
A 1970s TV movie of the week. White Mama is far more emotional than I would care to admit. Miss Davis portrays an elderly, but proud white woman . A young Mr Harden plays a 16 yr old black man on the edge of delinquency.
Both actors, and Eileen Eckhart are totally believable, creating continual lumps in my throat.
They simply don't make movies like this now, with fine actors portraying real characters that we really prefer don't exist. They do exist, and kudos to this movie.
Surprisingly emotional, I encourage people to experience this wonderful movie. Anything miss Davis is in is wonderful, in my opinion. This movie she portrays one of the most heart touching characters that I have seen her perform.
My advice is to watch and feel this movie.
The Waltons: The Achievement (1977)
Very good episode.
The Walton's just want the same after Mr. Thomas left. Nice send- off episode. I don't think it's very realistic, but if anybody could get in with no appointment, it would be John-Boy!
