La famille Bélier (2014)
A feel good but essential movie
Funny, sad, inspiring. This movie illustrates the challenge of many when challenged by caring for people they love and having their own aspirations.
The Rocket (2013)
Incredible
What an adventure in a unique place. Loved the characters, even Uncle Purple.
The Glass Castle (2017)
Compelling and mind-blowing
I read this book, years ago and it remained a favourite reread book for years. It was interesting to see the film version. Some differences to the book, but generally it followed it. Love the child actors ... the really resembled their adult selves. As with the book, never sure if horrified by the family situation or envious?
Demain tout commence (2016)
Took me by surprise
Loved this film. It was funny, moving, unexpected, loving and the ending took me by surprise.
Little Women (2019)
Comfort food
What a great movie. Classic tale which is still compelling. The cast were wonderful.
The 15:17 to Paris (2018)
Not your usual movie
I walked in on someone watching this movie and subsequently only saw the latter two thirds of it. I was struck by the pace and the uniqueness of the scenes and was compelled to continue watching. It was not until the end that I found out that it was a true story with the real people involved. Amazing and great to see something real.
Abominable (2019)
Big, fluffy and beautiful
We loved it. Beautiful scenery, funny and sometimes sad, magical and it was summarised by a tough little kid sitting behind me at the end of the movie saying to his parents ... 'Can I get a violin for my birthday?'.
