Good fun television
13 February 2008
I personally disagree with the other writers. I think that Tyler Perry's House of Payne is a very well written show. It seems to handle real life very well. I like this show so much I am going to purchase the DVD's to watch over and over again. If it isn't your type of show then don't watch it, but I really enjoy it. It doesn't need to be crude rude or obnoxious to be good television. There is nothing that happens in the context of this show I would be afraid to show a child. I really appreciate it. The show has some drama and comedy and seems to be based on a real life family. I have seen many families that are similar to this one. I would like to see some of the side characters developed some more, but I realize in the time length it is very difficult to develop them into larger characters.Overall though as I have said I really enjoy it and will watch it as long as it is on then watch my DVDs.

Worth the watch
14 September 2006
This is a cute movie as it lightens your spirit and makes you laugh. An important part of life. The characters are flat and do what is expected but that makes it even more fun to watch. I don't have to figure out any sub plots and it doesn't do any brain drain. After a hard day in the office it was a great movie to get my mind off my problems. The drag queens were great. Their costumes and figures are better than most women. David Duchovny as a romantic lead works for me. Nia Vardalos can go up against Meg Ryan for cute and funny in a movie. She does an excellent hometown type leading lady. The plot has enough of a story line to keep you going without getting bored.
