Brooklyn Nine-Nine: The Good Ones (2021)
So there's just no jokes anymore?
What was a comedy is now a badly made after school special. No jokes. Not even a smile came. I struggled to watch it. There's a time and place for what they were attempting but this wasn't it. Just really sad. RIP Brooklyn 99.
The Rookie: Revelations (2021)
Getting silly now
What we learnt this week. Male cops are rubbish. Men are rubbish. White guys are rubbish.
The one criminal in an all black area is an old white man who is caught by two gay black cops. Undercover bad cop. Yeah he's white. The woman all heroic.
This after-school special rubbish is getting boring now. Zero realism. Just preaching how white guys sick each week.
Scandal (2012)
So bad yet why am I still watching?
This is bad. Olivia is a vile lead. She's weak, cold, and just downright awful. I think the final straw was when she spoke to.tje vice presidents baby daddy (yes. That really happened) and he killed himself. Her mopy whiny face. The way she gets used like a doll by the president and the head of the NSA who is also an assassin (yes. Really)
She's led to so many deaths yet still seems to think she's good.
Then there's Hok. How many people did he kill?? 20? 30? Yet through that awful acting we are still supposed to feel sorry for him.
It's just bad. Bad bad bad. The ONLY redeeming character is Charlie. He's bad and he knows it and we love him.
The only reason I'm still watching is hoping Olivia dies or gets found out but this is possibly the worst written show in the history of television.
Magnum P.I. (2018)
I don't get the hate
People just like a moan nowadays. If you don't like something, don't watch it.
This is just good harmless fun. Nice characters with great chemistry you can feel comfy with watching the weekly adventures.
If you want something easy to escape from the rubbish the world is dishing out then you could do a lot worse.
Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
People are so grumpy
Reading these reviews just reminds me how people are just never happy. Wonder Woman 84 has come at the perfect time. Inna year where everything has been cloudy this is a rare ray of sunshine. It feels almost like a throwback to the old Richard Dinner Superman in places. It's a feelgood film. Gal Gadot is immensely watchable as ever and her chemistry with Chris Pine is lovely to see.
Pedro Pascal threatens to steal every scene and Kristen Wiig grows on you (my one gripe is the lazy clumsy wearing glasses look everyone uses)
The music and cinematography is as good as the first and yes it is a little lighter in tone but that can be a good thing.
It's just escapism. It's fun. Smile a bit. It won't hurt.
Supernatural: Carry On (2020)
It's the journey not the destination
Every great show finale seems to be hated. It's not because we hated the finale but we miss what is familiar. 15 years. Over 300 episodes. It was never gonna please everyone. I loved it. I'll miss the Winchester's. It had to be about them and just them. Carry on boys
How to Get Away with Murder (2014)
Awful characters but addictive viewing
Annalise is an awful character. She's selfish, self obsessed, mean and one of the worst teachers out there. She treats everyone like crap and midway through season 3 I'm just waiting for her to get what she deserves.
It's addictive viewing though. Although everyone is awful you just cant look away and it's paced well enough to keep you interested throughout.
I really hope Annalise has bad things happen to her though.
Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015)
Back to the best!!!!
OK. So many haters on here who have only been a member for a day now trolling. No spoilers here, no point. Get off your butts and see this movie! You will laugh, you will cry, you will want to jump out of your seat and scream (in happiness) Forget about the prequels, this is the Star Wars universe we deserve. Film of the year. Off to see it again tomorrow. The chemistry is there, the directing superb. Already biting my nails waiting for episode 8. As for people moaning, I don't know why. I guess people just like to troll. Some people need to just chill out. Still buzzing over the movie. Finn was awesome. Ray stunning. Poe kicked butt. Kylo the baddie of a new generation.
The Leftovers: I Live Here Now (2015)
Just wow
The thing is, you will either think this is the greatest thing or think it's pointless. I absolutely adore this and season 2 has just got better and better. Justin Theroux deserves so many accolades for what he has brought to the show. Then again, pretty much everyone concerned with making this have hit a home run. I don't know if there will be a season 3. I really hope there will be but if not we were treated to something special. In a world where every show is a copycat of the same bland procedural rubbish it is a breath of fresh air to have a show that leaves you screaming what the fudge! every 3 minutes. We'll miss you :)
Orora gongju (2005)
Some films are just good
Okay, so as a fan of the Korean cinema look I brought Princess Aurora... and I have to say that I was VERY impressed. It is a difficult film to watch at times, and it does take a while for the film to get going.
I'm not going to put in any spoilers but if you do not want to know anything at all about the film please just accept that it is worth it and stop reading.
Im trying not to sound to geeky but imagine if David Mamet (glengarry glen ross, Ronin) wrote for chan Wook Park (old boy, lady vengeance) and you would know what I mean.
OK, so half an hour into the film I thought it was just another murder film, but it really is so much more.
It is not perfect by any means. the police seem clumsy at times and the film gel as well as it could, but this is all for a reason, and that reason is shown in the 20 minute finale which is better than anything Hollywood can do. It is the type of ending that has you literally hiding behind a cushion one minute, then jumping up and cheering the next.
If you liked lady vengeance or dark water, this is a film for you, if you like good cinema that makes you think then again this is a good movie for you.
Park may be the fashionable director at the moment, and rightly so if you have seen his films, but Eun-jin Bang who directed this film is definitely one to look out for. Also, you should watch this before Hollywood remakes it, which no doubt it will at some point.
I just liked the movie, and I hope more people give it a go.
