The Avengers (1998)
Nowhere Near As Bad As They Say!
OK everyone going to see this film must love the original as i do. But as we all no, it was a product of the 60s British traditions and humour and a great deal of camp fun. Bringing that to 90s cinema is always going to be a hard task. Yet i feel they pulled if off. Fiennes did the best he could with what was given. Uma Thurman was never a brilliant choice to start with but she wasn't awful, she just wasn't "dianna rigg". The script it witty and camp and everything the TV series was. People look at the over acting and the scenes with the mechanical bees and teddy bears and laugh, but have you ever watched the avengers TV series?? it was full of stupid scenes very much the same, i feel this film had the spirit of the original and deserves far more than the 3.4 its given, because its really not that bad. Go and see it and don't listen to the critics! 7/10
Die Another Day (2002)
Absolute CRAP
this is by far and away the WORST bond film of all, so bad in fact its actually damaged the memory of this long running franchise i think. Pierce Brosnans films were at least for the most part in some realm of believability, this utter tripe belongs to some bad b movie. GoldenEye to TWINE were at least well acted and executed! This is just tragic, bad acting (halle berry, please...) awful direction, bad (AWFUL) CGI. avoid at all costs and watch a classic, like Goldfinger!
Bronsans Best to Worst:
1. GoldenEye 2. The World is Not Enough 3. Tomorrow Never Dies 4. Die Another Day
Birds of a Feather (1989)
Great show that seems to have been forgotten
Haven't seen this show for a very long time but i can remember watching it when i was a lot longer and i can remember it being very funny and cleverly written, it has a very low score, I'm convinced its because the show is not known outside the UK and this is a US web site. The actors performed well and the plot was slightly outlandish but yet believable which made the show very believable. The whole class war thing also worked well at the time, however I'm not sure if it would be quite as important in todays world. But for the time this was an good quality show that although had 102 episodes seemed to continue its quality.
