Baghead (2023)

Overall good plot, loses momentum
7 April 2024
The first half of this was so scary although it does lose momentum about halfway through but still good enough plot. The premise of this I believe came from a short made in 2017. I really loved the idea of using someone or something to communicate with a loved one but this takes it to another level. Freya Allen and Jeremy strong lead the cast which I liked overall. There are a few plot holes but in my opinion, this is still better than most of the horror movies churned out these days. I will say the last third loses steam and becomes corny. Like almost all horror movies today, it didn't stick the landing/ending. I wish the director would have stayed with the dread and suspense from the first half. It had potential to be a solid ten. Still a decent watch and ok enough horror movie with a mostly original plot, I do recommend it overall.

Oppenheimer (I) (2023)
10/10
Absolute cinematic masterpiece
5 March 2024
As we've come to expect only greatness from Christopher Nolan and company, I knew this film would likely be a masterpiece. What I did not know was that I would love this masterpiece so much and be as captivated as I just was. The entire film unfolds as if you are witnessing every decision that went into building this bomb, where you feel as though you're a fly on the wall. I became completely immersed for the entire 3hours and was astounding in every scene. The visuals, the execution of science, storytelling, everything. Cillian is an insurmountable force as Oppenheimer and deserves every accolade. This is what an Oscar movie feels like all around, it makes you excited about filmmaking and the actors whose craft and talent are perfectly aligned. Brilliant masterpiece.

Stick through the end, it pays off
10 February 2024
I'll admit that at first, I agreed with some of the other reviewers about lack of chemistry with the leads. In my opinion, the series started out a bit disjointed and choppy. A few of the early/middle episodes too. But the last third of the episodes really are what made me connect more. Emma had gone from least favorite to favorite and I was really surprised. Her development really flourishes throughout. I'm glad I stuck with it because the ending really was impactful. I binged this series in one day and I enjoyed being wrapped up in these characters lives. It was a beautiful and fun escape with so much of real life represented. Great series.

A Biltmore Christmas (2023 TV Movie)
10/10
I'll be honest, this story was so refreshing
30 November 2023
I had almost given up on every Hallmark movie... if I had seen another baker, big real estate guy taking the small shop, or royal nonsense I was going to just quit altogether. But Christmas at the Biltmore had such high reviews, I thought, well if I don't like it I don't have to invest much time. Little did I know that I would be completely surprised and entirely entertained with this story. This is such an improvement upon old/typical Hallmark storylines, and while those can be endearing at times, I tend to lose interest. The acting was superb with great writing and well developed story. The two leads were terrific together and had such chemistry. Give this one a try if you're looking for something new!

Four Christmases & Vince Vaughn
24 November 2023
This is one of the funniest movies and one of my favorites of all time. I watch it every year and laugh just as hard each time with my family! The entire cast in here is stacked with icons and legends. But I have to say, Vince Vaughn is the absolute all star in here. He's so quick, charismatic and improvs the hell of his scenes I just know it. The legendary Robert Duvall is beyond hilarious in his small screen time as Vince's dad. Such a great Christmas comedy about everyone's crazy, dysfunctional families and surviving the holidays amongst it all. I still quote "Mistletoe" when things are going bonkers. An all time classic!

Starts off cliche but ends with heart
21 November 2023
I'll admit the beginning of this movie is cheesy with all of the cliches that you expect from corny Christmas movies. The first half presents that way but slowly delves deeper into the idea friendships and you may not know what people are going through behind closed doors. I won't use any spoilers to talk about the last act of the story but there is heart and human connection. I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would and I'm glad I stuck it out. Great fun movie about Christmas, friends, family, love and appreciating the blessings and people we have in our lives. Always loved Brandy and Heather Graham, they're cute in here as friends!!

Beautiful Veteran Mystery Christmas Love Story
29 October 2023
This movie was absolutely beautiful and so endearing, I loved it!! There was such a rich story and mystery that honors and celebrates our veterans and military. Paul Greene is my favorite actor and he absolutely shined with the beautiful Jill Wagner. Their chemistry was electric and also sweet. I was teary eyed in multiple parts, in the best way. I haven't felt this connected to a Christmas movie in a while, I'm so glad I watched this premiere. Paul has an original song featured in the movie that really brought a whole new level of emotion and heart to the story. Would love a sequel of this or series based off of this story 10/10!!! Beautiful veteran Christmas tale.

The Nun II (2023)

Cannot Believe this is the Nun 2...
28 October 2023
I've been a dedicated fan of the Conjuring Universe since the very beginning. Turning out to the theater on premiere weekend for each Insidious, Annabelle, Conjuring and Nun movies. I really enjoyed the first Nun movie, great actors, scary setting, cohesive story, great build up, heart and scares of course. But I have absolutely no idea what happened with this sequel that is The Nun 2. I'm in utter disbelief at what I just saw. Every part of the story was jumbled and rushed with too many unimportant things thrown together. Nothing about this story worked or flowed. There was no build up or genuine horror/scares. It was so corny and I could not wait for it to end. They ruined Insidious with the The Red Door and now the Nun 2!? What on earth is happening to this franchise?! We need James Wan and Leigh Whannel back asap. Someone with a vision who can write a decent script and movie! Yikes! Also I'm so bummed about this review ugh...

Appendage (2023)

Too campy/corny, not my kind of movie
3 October 2023
I can totally see how this 80s/90s campy type of horror movie is someone's cup of tea. This just happens to not be mine. Personally I think the appendage idea was unique but I just wasn't entertained or scared. Like I said, I'm sure some people will love this kind of idea/movie, you do you boo!!! I prefer more horror and less camp, unless it's the movie Drag Me to Hell (one of my faves) which blends both. In Appendage, I wasn't overly invested in any of the characters or the thin plot. We are kind of just thrown in from the get-go and didn't get a chance to know or care about our main character. Needed more story and less corny, not a fan.

Hilarious Sonjarita and Lu
3 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This show is absolutely hilarious! If you are fans of Sonja and LuAnn with all of their shenanigans, you'll have a fun time watching them taking on the small town Benton, Illinois. It really is charming watching them help build a playground, improve the local dog rescue and put on a talent show to raise money and generate tourism for the town. Of course there's some raunchy humor but I honestly loved it. Binged this with my mom in one Saturday. We just cracked up and had a blast watching these two! Miss having them on RHONY. Would love to see them take on another town for another season and do similar things. Overall love it, a great gem for housewives fan.

Wanted to like this but choppy disjointed story
10 July 2023
I'm a forever Rom-Com lover and will always tune in with a cute story and music. I think the movie industry needs to keep making them! Which is why I tuned into this film. The music in here was great! I like Priyanka usually also. I just found this movie's writing and plot to be disjointed and choppy. The story didn't flow, there was very little character heart and development overall. In my opinion, I didn't feel any chemistry between the leads for most of the film. I love Celine but having her in here felt forced and not plausible. I think with some better writing the story could have really soared.

Heartfelt plot, good writing, great acting
25 December 2022
This is such a heartfelt and beautiful holiday movie that is about connection, healing, friendship and everything in between. I really enjoyed this film, Brennan Elliot and Nikki's Deloach were both great with their acting, emotions and chemistry. It was nice to see other characters and their stories being brought in throughout the film while still staying with a cohesive story. Hallmark really did a great job with this film, so glad it's not the same old story. I got a little emotional during one of the stories that was shared about their mom. We need more heartfelt films like this, that truly focus on real human emotions and feelings.

Solid horror film until last scene
8 December 2022
I really didn't understand why this movie was getting so much hype, it seemed like a plot that had been done before similarly. But once it came to streaming, I figured I would watch it. Overall, I was pretty impressed with the jump scares and overall feel. There was a few plot holes but I always like to give the benefit of the doubt and judge for the big picture.

Sosie Bacon was a decent lead in this film as Dr Rose Cotter, a therapist. Who is quite familiar with psychology and her patients. Until there is a mystery that ensnares her mind as well. She works to put together the pieces for an almost good ending. I will say, I thought it would have been stronger if the last 60 seconds were a bit different and less cheesy. Otherwise, pretty solid horror all around.

Fit & Fun for Christmas!!
5 December 2022
I was so excited for this movie as a Paul Greene fan, he's so charming, talented and always fun to watch. He had such amazing chemistry with the darling Amanda Kloots!! This movie is Amanda's movie debut, she also serves as co writer and producer. She/Her character have such great energy and is beyond gorgeous. Amanda and Paul looked like they were having an absolute blast filming this and it was just as fun to watch as a viewer. I love that fitness was at the forefront and of course a love triangle. There's so much humor, love, festivity and of course all the feels. Loved Paul Greene and Amanda Kloots together on a major network broadcast movie, such a fun film!

Holiday Version of Fever Pitch
3 December 2022
I love this little gem of a holiday movie!!! It's like a modern day Fever Pitch (with Drew Barrymore & Jimmy Fallon classic rom com). I have always liked Jesse Bradford and loved seeing him in this cute rom com!!! Also from Scandal is Katie Lowes who is great and shows real emotion in this movie. They had such great chemistry, banter but also solid emotional scenes. This story tugged at your heart strings while also making you smile and laugh. Such a great, heart warming story about love, grief and everything that falls in between. Please keep making more cute movies like this!! Rom coms are scarce and I loved this!

I'm Glad It's Christmas (2022 TV Movie)

Loved this movie, so much talent
28 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I wanted to start off by saying that I love Paul Greene. I was so Glad (😉) to see him in a movie where he can finally combine his wonderful singing with his great acting. Especially in a movie with someone has iconic as the incomparable Ms. Gladys Knight. She is such a legend and truly so graceful, sweet and of course beaming with that natural god-given talent in this film. Jessica Lowndes plays Chloe who is Jason's (Paul Greene's) love interest. Chloe is an aspiring Broadway star who's been turned down so many times she's ready to give up. Until that is, she meets Miss Cora (Gladys Knight) who unites her and Jason to combine their talents for a special show. The chemistry, writing, original songs, humor and singing talents were all absolutely wonderful from these three actors. As a fan of Paul Greene's, I have seen him work so hard on his singing, music and acting, especially since the Pandemic. It's wonderful to see everything come alive in this film. I've already watched it twice since it premiered and know it will be a favorite for years to come in my family. It's truly a special, sweet, musical feel-good holiday film for all to enjoy.

Good Acting, Dark Drama
31 October 2022
This entry in the series was definitely a dark drama with intense scenes. It was the best acting out of the entire series, although I did LOVE autopsy and Dr Carl. A picture of grief and all of its stages, between a married couple who've experienced great loss. It focuses on their work as bird watchers and how they're coping, or not coping, with this devastating loss. I won't lie, the bird sounds were putting my mom and I to sleep, so relaxing LOL!!! Worth a watch if you like emotional, dark dramas with a few little scared. Essie Davis and Andrew Lincoln really sold this story and were quite captivating.

Literally horrified
17 September 2022
Spoiler Free: I am so beyond horrified just finishing this movie, that's the only way I can describe it. This just scared the crap out of me in such a disturbing way...The last 25 min are where things pick up but lots of red flags are placed throughout the film. Prepare to be disturbed and jaw dropped by the end. I am fairly certain that I will never watch this movie again because of the ick & sad feeling that's left afterward. How often does this happen in real life? There were a few frustrations and minor plot holes but it is also quite realistic I'd imagine. Which is the main horror aspect in itself. Great music, great acting, sensitive elements involving children. Deeply terrified and will not watch this film again.

Could not get into this, felt cheesy
30 August 2022
I had really high hopes for this series and based on the trailer I was excited!! Love seeing a strong, hard working woman on screen!! However, when I started to watch, all the characters felt all over the place and none had chemistry or dialogue that caught my attention. It was sloppy and cheesy; not in a good way. I think maybe the writing and/or acting are both off. This didn't hit right for me, wanted to love it but couldn't even finish the first episode. And I don't think I'll be giving it another shot unfortunately. I don't care about the direction of the show or where any of the story could go. Also the boss "Marty" was maybe the worst acting of all. Unwatchable.

Modern Day "Sliding Doors" film
26 August 2022
Watched this movie with my mom and we both thought it was pretty cute! Lili Reinhart was adorable, I've never seen her work prior to this but I liked her. Andrea Savage was hilarious as her Mom, she was my favorite comedic relief and so GOOD!!! Super cute rom com about life, growing up and the decisions that lead us on our life paths.

Trailer is the entire movie, no surprises
5 August 2022
I had been waiting to see this film all year! The first trailer was so enticing and so unique, sure to be creepy! I loved this concept and Ethan Hawke's masked villain. Also loved Finny and Gwen, they were absolutely amazing actors who carried this film!

But overall, I found this film disappointing. It was exactly what the trailer showed and nothing more! For me personally, I needed more backstory, more depth, more "something" than just what I'd already seen in the preview. More focus on Gwen's ability, more background on their mom, more details about The Grabber and how he came to be, what the different masks mean, etc. Anything to add MORE. It was bare and didn't keep me guessing much, I was mildly entertained but more disappointed than expected.

Dakota Johnson was amazing!
16 July 2022
I was never a giant Dakota Johnson fan but I thought she was so cute in here and I really loved her in a rom com. She carried this entire movie on her back!!! The rest of the cast felt off? IThe writing was almost caricature version of Persuasion. A lot felt disjointed and all over the place. I didn't love Wentworth like we were supposed to. Loved Dakota in here.

Narcissistic JLO movie...
22 April 2022
I was going come for a cute Rom Com because I like both leads. And I truly believe that Owen Wilson was doing his best. But I hold the writers responsible for this bomb. It was choppy, out of sync and didn't make any sense. Now with Ms. JLO, where do I begin? This entire movie is JLO being overly self obsessed and I think it is just like she is in real life. It's becoming too much to see in a movie. I couldn't enjoy this movie!! Ugh disappointing.

This fell a little short for me...
22 April 2022
I wanted this movie to be a 10/10 but unfortunately I think it fell short. The trailer made this movie seem more scary with a terrifying tone. The actors were fine but I needed more!! There wasn't enough terror in my opinion.

Tyler Henry is a gift
15 March 2022
I cannot express how gifted and authentic Tyler Henry is. I seriously believe in his gift and abilities so much. I don't really watch other mediums but I do watch Tyler. I really commend how personal he made this series by opening up about his family and mom's journey to find her birth family and answers. So heartfelt and so real! I don't understand the negative reviews.
