Violet City (2015)
A visual masterpiece
Violet City perfectly marries the aesthetics of Sin City, the nightmares of Tim Burton and influences of German Expressionism. It is truly a visual masterpiece that takes you out of your world and into a dark fantasy. There are meat eating plants, airships, gangs, cults, energy parasites... so many unique and interesting things going on. I highly recommend this to fans of the unique and artistic.
Diamonds to Dust (2014)
Entertaining and enlightening!!
Diamonds to Dust is an entertaining and enlightening look into the life of Jayne Mansfield. Hailey Heisick who plays Jayne is outstanding. As the movie progresses, it's easy to forget she's even acting and she becomes the character. I also really liked the set designed. The filmmakers did a wonderful job bringing the 1950s to life and as a viewer I got lost in the story world. I highly enjoyed this film from beginning to end. A must see.
The Last Taboo (2013)
Eye Opening Documentary
This is a documentary about connecting with another human through touch. And as this film points out, many people have a misconception of disabled people, and their need for this. After watching this film, you will get a greater understanding of the needs and wants of someone disabled. You will hear their experiences, their inner struggles and their yearning to connect with another human being. No matter how we look to others, we all need love, human interaction and to be seen as being perfect just how we are. This film does a phenomenal job shinning light on that.
Julia 17 - (2017)
Raw, Unfiltered and Real
Julia 17 isn't afraid to show you the gritty and dark side of life. It's very raw and unfiltered. The acting, look of the picture, locations, all lend themselves nicely to the inner and outer turmoil Julia constantly finds herself in. A very real portrayal of life at rock bottom. And although I found myself gritting my teeth at some of the situations Julia found herself in, I highly enjoyed this film. Andreea Boyer as Julia, gives a knockout performance. A must watch for the indie film fan.
