Cold Blood Legacy (2019)
Reno + very little
5 stars may be too generous but i appreciate Jean Reno considerably. This movie is very cliched and the brooding Anderson is very annoying. There are some logic holes most obviously Reno's character not killing Melody the instant he was positive she was out to murder him. The fact he even bothered to save her whilst suspicious of her as a professional murderer is completely illogical. Nice scenery. Jean Reno. Terrible script. Movies are not what they used to be.
The Hustle (2019)
Hathaway is a Pay Packet Prostitute
If Anne Hathaway has any ideals to be thought of as a serious actress they dont seem to be as strong as her need to get paid for any ol rubbish thrown her way. I couldnt stomach Ocean's Eight to watch it till the finish and two minutes into this travesty it was obvious this was of similar gutter quality. How mulitple money men in the industry can keep signing off on such trash is a very sad indictement on Hollywood. There is not a single redeeming feature of this and Hathaway should hang head in shame. Wilson has kept to her usual very low standard. If she's a comedian Im a maharajah.
Ocean's Eight (2018)
Even stars have no taste
What a load of crap. They spent 70 million making this steaming pile . What a waste of 45 minures waiting for it not to be terrible. So many ludicrous plot holes and unbelievable nay impossible situations. Enough to make a person quit movies forever.
Stacy's Knights (1983)
its just a little b grader
this film is fine an OK b grader that isn't trying to win a academy award i am writing to mainly comment on another review which suggested the need for suspension of disbelief, which firstly doesn't make much sense, this is a movie, that is fictional , the whole premise of fiction is not about belief or disbelief its about fantasy, secondly the reviewer suggested this disbelief was needed because casino staff acted violently towards a winner using a system, where has this person been all there life, this is a fact of the American gambling experience, to suggest this is over the top and unbelievable makes me know that reviewer is both a hermit and a moron,as are most IMDb reviewers and users
Absolute Power (1997)
uncommon errors
Eastwood reigns supreme in my eyes both as an actor and director, for these reasons i was very surprised to see situations so unreal and surprisingly included in an Eastwood directed pic. The missing knife causes near hysterics by Davis' character, yet only moments before, the discovery of the body barely raises an eyebrow. When the secret service agents return to grab the knife they approach with weapons drawn, why? they had no reason to suspect anyone was there, and certainly not an intruder. The agent then looks for the knife in only one spot, again why? These all happen in a 5 minute period the rest of the film is of a usual high standard for Eastwood if one can overlook the fact that the pres is a stumbling woman bashing incoherent drunk with memory loss, sort of a cross between Clinton and George W i guess.
The Omen (2006)
stick to the original this is a waste of time
If you want to watch The Omen, very definitely stick to the original. The chinless Liev Schreibers character shows no interest in the events of this film. Julia Stiles is way way out of her depth. Her performance and therefore also the direction of the film is deplorable and as many others have commented what was the point of the remake. Surely all concerned had better things to do with their time. if I had paid full price for this rather than a cheap ebay win i feel I would have had a legal right to sue the producers for false advertising, not worth $2. Appalling and a great example of why we have passed, long ago, the golden age of Hollywood. With any luck the recent fires in the Hollywood hills may have destroyed all original copies of this waste of time.
The Ladykillers (2004)
hilarious, laugh out loud brilliance
having read other critiques of this movie i have just got to say.... what is with some people, why cant a movie be enjoyed, loved or loathed for what it is rather than have to act like it is supposed to be some kind of statement on society......... this movie was laugh out loud hilarious on more than a dozen occasions. to criticize the Wayans character because he was foul mouthed is akin to criticizing the sopranos for showing violent behavior. if you want a damn good movie that will make you laugh this is it. if you think that all movies are meant to give a message about society then stick to documentaries, but in the meantime stop wasting other peoples time with your head up your butt comments about character faults when you cannot even understand the character is the character and the interpreted faults are not anything more than aspects of that character
Wimbledon (2004)
masses of factual errors make for a thoroughly annoying viewing
this movie is mildly entertaining but not if you are a tennis fan for any fan of the game there are masses of factual errors that just cannot be ignored for the romantic viewer there is little to indicate any reason for a ongoing relationship between these two characters unless changing body fluids is a reason for marriage and a life together. i could not look past the condition of the grass on the courts they played on. the grass was so lush and green that no player would have been able to avoid slipping over, and this continued right till the final when in reality the base lines are generally only compacted dirt by this stage. i am continually amazed that a director can spend millions upon millions making a movie and allow the most amazing blatant factual errors into the film. Bettany's character made the quarters after 3 matches. in reality it takes 4. and never in the history of ANY grand slam would they play the mens and womens semis at the same time, and on lowly outside courts. even if we ignore the hugely fanciful notion of an Englishman playing good enough to make it through to a grand slam final one cannot ignore the fact that it would cause hysteria amongst the success starved English sporting public. what could have been a good sporting romance turned into a frustrating viewing experience for any tennis fan.
The Peacemaker (1997)
Kidman spoils what should have been a great movie
Kidmans acting in this movie is deplorable. The scriptwriters and the director should take some of the blame however as mostly her character was a waste of space and unrealistically involved in the action. firstly she was at least 20 years too young for the part and secondly as a supposed expert she didn't seem to know a heck of a lot, thirdly despite the ridiculousness of some of her lines she delivered them with no conviction or believability whatsoever. The story itself was entertaining and Clooney does a good job playing the cool strong man but the character Kidman played became overly involved in situations where her character had no place being and it removed all credibility from the whole movie. what could have and should have been a very good movie turned out to be an annoying failure. i have given it 4 points for the story but 0 points for Kidman and she was damn lucky this did not resign her to the scrap heap of bit parts and an extra
