Resident Evil (2022)
Absolutely Horrible
The acting is so bad it's as if they found people off the street and asked them to ask. The father who is played by a veteran actor is the only person who displays real skill and talent.
Production value, actors, character development all get ok marks. You can tell someone spent a lot of money with this production. Why is it so poor... The writing and storyline. It's so poorly written you almost want to stop in the middle of episode 1 and you have to choke it down by the end of episode 2. This is 1 of very few high production costs series where you hate the woke and unrealistic life scenarios so bad you believe that there main characters actually deserve to be killed off very soon in the series.
Take my warning to heart and don't waste your time.
Bulgasal (2021)
Best fantasy drama of 2021
Korean film industry in many aspects is the best in the world. The story is wonderful and each scene and episode draws you in for more. You feel like you're a part of the story. The actors, whether a main role or supporting role, mesh with one another in a way that you sometimes forget their just acting. What truly separates Korean films from the rest of the world is the character development. Characters are not created and defined in the first hour. No, each character literally continues developing to the last episode. You walk away from the series thinking about the people and story for weeks. You truly miss the characters not being in your life.
Nara is one of the most beautiful people alive. She's not just a pretty face but a true leading lady. Lee Jin-Uk has separated himself in Korea as a true superstar. Together they create a bond on screen so tight that you would think that no one can act like they do without being in love with one another. But hey, that's their job.
Absolutely great series. You'll be upset that you didn't watch it sooner. English subtitles are well written to help move the story with English audiences such as myself.
The Exorcist (1973)
Think twice.... B film at best...
The Exorcist may have been top notch during the early 70s but today it's just another junk B movie. H however what makes it awful and horrible is the Ellen Burstyn. She screams with zero talent to the point you have to fast forward her speaking parts to avoid a headache and nausea. I can't believe she continued to have a career in acting.
Firebite (2021)
I thought this was a comedy
This series does a disservice to the aboriginal people. Fighting vampires with broken broomsticks, pencils and a complete lack of brains throws vampire lore out the window. Finally, the acting and production value are good except for the young girl. She creates the nightmare in the series and brings down the concept. But this series does show that there are extremely talented people in all corners of the world. I would watch a 2nd season but I think it will be tough to get the average person to watch beyond episode 2.
Enterprise (2001)
Absolutely horrible story
This star trek was a joke. The story and characters are horrible. The enterprise crew has to be the worse space crew of all the differing races. They are boarded and lose control of the ship almost every other episode. They fly through space bumbling around like fools. This series is a disappointment to the star trek lore.
Manyeo (2018)
Spectacular and highly entertaining
Kim Da-Mi creates a performance that has become iconic. Her talent is truly on another level. This film is just one more great production by the Korean film industry which has become one of the top 3 film states in the world. This is a must see film and I can't wait for the sequel(s).
V for Vendetta (2005)
Intelligent and iconic
Writing, characters, production, etc... are excellent. The film includes an A list ensemble. The V team's acting and dialogue helped create an iconic cult film. Hugo Weaving's performance solidified his standing as a true global movie star.
Helstrom (2020)
Absolutely insane!
Writing, characters, acting, production value... Every variable that makes a series great is A+. This will be a big home run for Hulu and Marvel.
The Predator (2018)
Best predator movie
Ignore any and all negative reviews. This is entertaining and it brings the predator movies up to date with intelligent sci-fi and action. Really good movie.
Ava (2020)
Chastain proves she can nail the action hero role
Jessica Chastain can flawlessly perform the toughest roles. She takes this film from mild drama to insane action in the blink of an eye. The supporting cast is an ensemble of A+ actors. Film is really good and the poor ratings from others has zero merit.
Ajeossi (2010)
South Korean action/drama masterpiece
The South Korean film industry is no longer a step behind Hollywood and Europe when it comes to making A+ action films. This film is an example of why South Korean movie stars and directors are equal to the best the world has to offer. In fact, the one thing that these stars and directors do better than anyone is character development. The Man From Nowhere is absolutely worth every minute invested watching this incredible movie.
The Cleansing Hour (2019)
Absolute Grand Slam Home Run!!!
This is so much more than a pleasant surprise. The story and concept had me doubting that this film would and could be successful. I was so wrong for my doubts. The writing was solid. After watching the film you can't imagine any other actors other than those on screen playing their parts. Meaning the acting and actors put this film over the top. Finally the director and production staff managed to create one of the best horror, exorcism, demon, supernatural flicks to hit the screen in the past 20 years or more. This is an instant cult classic. Damn I'm impressed!
A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night (2014)
Simply remarkable
Really special film. independent smash hit. Actors and production group not a home run with film. The best must be saved for last and that is the director and the girl. Both absolutely beautiful and the best.
Saja (2019)
Best Exorcist film past 30 years
Absolutely great. Even with subtitles, film is a must see for those that enjoy the good vs evil horror genre.
The Witcher (2019)
Potential to be one the greatest fantasy series of all time
The past several years many studios and others have attempted to create the next game of thrones. Many series with outstanding concepts have been produced to either fail or disappoint for many reasons. The primary reasons for these failures have been poor writing, production value and poor choice of talent. It's so frustrating to see a great concept in the screen only to have it screwed for various reasons. When this happens the concept is lost not because of poor ideas but of the ship sinks everything goes down with it. In the case of the Witcher, it simply has everything and it's working fabulously. Leading characters are amazing. Production value is second to none. Character development has questions but possibly because of the way the story is told and the fact you only have 8 episodes to work with. In the end you have to ask yourself this do you like the story, do you like the way it's being told and do you want to watch it again. My answer is please hurry and put out more episodes. Please consider going to a 20 to 23 episode season. For real fans of fantasy this is a different type story than GOT and has the potential to surpass thrones as long as quantity remains high. It starts and ends with writing. Make sure the writers are the absolute best.
Daybreak (2019)
Netflix and or the series producers are SUCKERS! It's horrible!
Netflix and or investors must be truly desperate to finance a series like this. It's a cross hybrid of Fleabag, Zombieland, Mad Max and Odd Thomas but minus a story, minus character development, and minus quality writing. Each episode gets worse and worse to the point you either stop at episode 3 or you continue because you have absolutely nothing else to do. So so disappointed!
Skybound (2017)
Digital Feces
I truly believe the only people or persons that could or would provide a positive review of this film must be immediate family. I am embarrassed to write that I watched this film. I can't believe that any of the people that worked on this film would or could gain meaningful employment in film EVER AGAIN! It's so bad you almost have a feel that it's intentional.
The Diabolical (2015)
Someone really dumbed down this film
The absolute worst thing a science fiction film can do is have a story that doesn't logically flow. The film shows behaviors and situations that would never ever be experienced in the real world. This film not only does a horrible job developing characters but the convoluted story and dumbed down acting takes away any possibility of horror, thrill and suspense. Leaving only one possibility, mystery.
Aseudal Yeondaegi (2019)
This is the game of thrones for cave men
Television is desperate such that someone funded a series to celebrate the ignorance and stupidity of early man. It's hard to watch a fantasy series of cave men and the brutality and ignorance that flourished. One small step for man one giant leap back for television kind...
The Tomorrow People (2013)
Worst sci fi series produced in last 20 years
A series starts with concept which the tomorrow people has a strong foundation. Unfortunately any positives about this series stops there. The writing has bright spots but for the most part it lacks intelligence and it seems every scenes purpose is to create drama queens. When you have poor writing there are times that actors can carry the weight of the production and make it look good. Not in this case. The actors are challenged in ways that make you feel like your watching epileptics on meth. In the end, the tomorrow people creates a bad name for sci fi productions. I would imagine the people or person that green lit this series is no longer working on that same position.
John Carter (2012)
Movie ages like fine wine
This film is not only iconic but history will show that it was one of the finest Disney productions ever.
Bitten (2014)
Show ended with the worst writing
The series had many promising moments but it seems that the writers and producers knew it was coming to an end and they wrote a finish that was absolutely horrible. Almost as if the writers were mad and said screw it, will make it horrible. The show is so horrible in the last season it makes you avoid the investment to watch it and enjoy. It goes from sci fi / fantasy to bull shot!
Black Summer (2019)
Netflix has hit rock bottom with series
I can't believe Netflix would put their name and money behind this series. Anyone that rates this higher than 3 is either a family member of the production group or close friend. this can't be a positive for actors careers. The series has no story line. Zero character development. It's a series with a group of people running around from zombies making poor decisions that defy logic and reasoning. Combine all of this and this production seems as if a group of high school drama kids got together for a class project. You start with episode 1 which tells no story and you stick around in the hopes that something is around the corner that will start telling the story... Next thing you know the series is over and you just watched 300 minutes of the worst zombie film produced in the past 20 years. This production will hurt any group in the future trying to sell a zombie film. The genre has hit rock bottom.
Legacies (2018)
Horrible writing even worse characters
A childish drama and the actors are poorly served with such horrible writing. If this show wants to survive they better come up with a better game plan
Agent X (2015)
Could be the worst TV series of the past 40 years
This is so bad that it leaves your blood pressure high and mentally exhausted. There is no logic, no reality, and outright horrible writing. Its amazing that someone actually funded this series for 10 episodes. I would not be surprised that producers, directors, writers and even actors lost their jobs or damaged their careers by participating in this series. Hey but Im sure their nice people.
