Jack Ryan: Triage (2023)
Season 4, Episode 1
10/10
Get ready for thrill and action!
30 June 2023
Within the first ten minutes, the audience is introduced to four geographical locations across three continents. The story is being setup for a huge premise, and thrill. Jack Ryan, Wright, and Greer return along with many new characters. The episode has been written crisply. By the end of the episode, the audience would have clarity about all the stakeholders the writers intended to. The connections are clearly established. It is a testimony that the episode has been well-written because you won't feel overwhelmed with the characters. Amazon Prime has spent lot of money on this last season, and this episode setup a nice foundation for the next episodes to come. I am excited!

Funny, Light-hearted, Clean! Watch with family
13 October 2019
This video appeared in my amazon prime list, and I am so glad that I watched it. All the jokes were unoffensive. The "horse" jokes were hilarious. His take on NY Marathon was amazing. I have rarely come across comedians who can make people laugh without indulging in crude language. I strongly recommend watching this for 1 hour of pure fun. You will be smiling all through the video. You can watch it with kids. Best wishes to Jim. Will watch all of his other videos, and await his next one. Thank you for making us laugh.

The Family Man (2019– )
10/10
Very close to a realistic scenario!! Plans of villain are practical. Family Life of Agents is realistic. Loved it!
3 October 2019
This series was as close to reality as it could get. The real agents do have family to take care of. The real agents do not win ultimately. The villain does not have Nuclear plans. The villains make strategies to hurt. They are neither from this country or the other country. Their only aim is to wreak havoc with minimum fuss. I loved the way this series depicted how realistic it could be, how feasible was the plan of the villain(s). The way Tiwari (Manoj Bajpayee) struggled to maintain a balance in his personal and professional life was touching. He had a family which was bordering functionally dysfunctional. Both the kids were affable. A special Kudos to the entire cast, who did justice to their roles, and never went over-board (over-acting). We also learned (or realized) that in real life heroes don't get thanked when they do their job well. However, if they fail even once, then entire world is ready to extract pound of flesh. Highly Recommended to watch!

Badla (2019)

Pinnacle of acting and captivating story
18 March 2019
Before I write about the movie, I would like to address a small issue: People are proclaiming that the movie is a copy/remake of the Spanish movie - The Invisible Guest, and it is not worth watching. Let me tell you something: It is worth every penny you would pay. Watch it for the intense Amitabh Bachchan and subtle Taapsee Pannu. The other issue is about few people trying to spoil the movie by telling the end. OR people not willing to watch the movie because they know the way it shall end. A movie is never about the last few minutes where the suspense is dissolved and the case is resolved. It is about those beautiful 120 minutes where you cherish and relish each and every scene. I implore you to Go and watch it just for the sake of the acting skills, the story-telling, and the baritone of Mr. Bachchan. You would be thrilled !! The movie was such a captivating watch that when they told X was the killer, then I felt that it is an apt conclusion. Suddenly, they started concocting another story and Y would become the culprit. I realized that this was equally plausible. Thereafter, they came up with more and more possibilities in which each and every plot seemed equally likely to be the candidate for the solution. It was never about knowing the ultimate truth. It was all about the journey - as wise people have said time and again. My humble conclusion: It is a movie to hear that baritone one more time, where each dialogue is a home-run. It is a movie in which you will enjoy every one's acting! It is a movie worth your money :) :) :)

Mirzapur (2018– )
10/10
Spell Binding Story-telling. STRONGLY RECOMMENDED. (Humble advise to not compare with other series)
29 November 2018
Question: How good is this series? Answer: I finished the series in one marathon session of 7 hours. That good!

Question: Apart from a few well-known names, is the cast worthy of justifying their role(s)? Answer: You would be stunned by the acting. The actors are as good as the script. There are more number of pivotal characters than there were in "Sacred Games". You would be pleasantly surprised that all of them have been given enough screen-time and none of them are unimportant. What an ensemble! Wow!

Question: Is it better than Sacred Games? Answer: First of all, we MUST NOT compare the two series. "Crime", "Thriller", "Action" are the common genre between these two series. However, Mirzapur has done tremendous justice to it's script and carved out a niche space for itself. I had watched Sacred Games just a week before Mirzapur and after reading the panning reviews of Mirzapur, I decided not to watch it. One of my close friends - Sasi, told me to forget about the review(s) and give the first episode a try. I would like to quote him here: "It is far better than the number of stars the critics have awarded." HE WAS DAMN RIGHT. Sacred Games has used the terms of ancient Indian history (or mythology, whichever word you would like to use) to narrate the story. Mirzapur doesn't have that level of narration - Yes! ... But you would be gravely mistaken to take this point against Mirzapur. Each and every episode is gripping with sometimes gory and sometimes an undertone of humor which would never let you feel enervated. All the actors have done a phenomenal job. The women have been given lots of freedom. The documentary(ies) which BauJi keeps watching frequently, has 100% relevance in the context of the episode and the series. Everyone knows about Pankaj Tripathi's prowess. He doesn't need further introduction (nor do the others), but I would like to mention Guddu (Ali Fazal) as a revolutionary character. The way he has portrayed his passion for body-building, his dumb-wit, his self-assured and self-serving bias; it will blow the viewer away. After watching a few episodes, I had started to wonder if someone can be really so eccentric and so blind due to self-obsession. He just cares about how to live through the current moment in time, nothing else. In my humble opinion, I think that every character is a shade of different level of narcissism. Just visualize, how could a writer conceive the idea of so many narcissistic characters. ;-) If I ever meet Guddu Bhaiyya (Ali), Munna Bhaiyya (Divyendu Sharma) and Bablu Bhaiyya (Vikrant Massey), it would be extremely difficult to imagine them as a different person than their portrayal.

I would like to quote my friend again: This series is far better than the ratings you would come across on various critics' web pages.

The only reason I wrote this first-ever review on IMDb is because I could not digest the admonishing and panning of a beautiful work done by these fine actors and writers (and everyone involved in the project).
