The Green Mile (1999)
One of the best films of 1999, a must see for Stephen King fans
With many prison dramas out there being made in old Hollywood, The Green Mile (1999) is the least flawed (or, in my opinion, the only flaw is the length) movie I can think of in my mind. Tom Hanks is perfect as Paul Edgecomb, the prison guard at the green mile who befriended an unintelligent but lovable John Coffey, who was framed for the brutal murder of two white girls, but little does everyone know that John Coffey has a gift and might not be as guilty as everyone suspects him to be. The film has a non-linear narrative that's never, ever confusing as it is used sparingly. The only flaw is the 3-hour and 8-minute runtime, which can be a bit much for some viewers. Other than that, the movie is flawless and excellent. Go see it for yourself and tell me what you think of it!
