Watch the European release
1 October 2023
Do yourself a favor and watch the European release! They take about all the best parts in the American release, and it's truly to their own detriment. All the funniest parts are taken out, and with it, it's character. It's an adorable movie with a "love yourself for who you are" message. The tragic part is that in changing the movie for the American release it totally screwed up the pacing, making the whole movie disjointed and bizarre. They had such a stellar cast for this movie and did them all a huge disservice. An otherwise terrific movie was cut into oblivion and became completely unrecognizable.

It's the best of the worst kind of show
11 May 2022
Meh. I'm into these kinds of dumb shows, and I'll admit that this show is at least trying to be scientific sometimes, but I've gotta draw the line at the weird government conspiracies they keep entertaining. If the government was in on it they wouldn't be able to get this show on air or they're allowing for some great plausible deniability. Best to leave the government out of this one.

Marshawn absolutely killed it!
16 February 2022
Maybe the format isn't for you, but do yourself a favor and watch for marshawn Lynch. He made this episode! The supporting characters worked really well for this episode as well, but if you don't like improv this may not be for you.

One of the better true crime docuseries I've seen in a while!
20 October 2021
First, I'm convinced most of the 1 stars are people who didn't bother to read the series description before they watched, and instead of just moving on to something else came here to complain about it not actually being about catching sasquatch.

Second, this was a really cool look into the dark underbelly of the the Mendocino, but more importantly the national forest system as a whole. If you've ever worked on a national forest, you know this kind of stuff is well known and runs rampant amongst the national forests in California. Racism, crime and even murder can be common place, especially in a place as large and anonymous as a national park can be. It's as fascinating as it is tragic, and if you're a fan of true crime, this is a solid watch.

Not as bad as these reviews claim
13 October 2021
I guess there's a new edit out, and maybe that's the one I saw. I did notice some repeat info, but assumed it was where the commercial breaks would go. I'm not sure why everyone is upset about the "bias" of the docuseries. It's clear that the system and the war on drugs failed these people. I think the the reason people are upset about this "bias" is because it goes against the narrative they've been spoon fed since the Bush era. Systemic problems cause systemic issues, including but not limited to; drug addicts not able to afford rehab; families giving up on them; hopelessness; death and yes, even murder.

I actually thought having the two junkies in the docuseries was an interesting look into how addicts spiral. The hopelessness and the struggles. This docuseries might be a little slow for some people, but it's a good look into how these systemic problems drive people to murder and drug addiction.

I think what really does it is the voice over work. It's bad, and without Josh Gates, the show just isn't that fun. There are some parts that just look like poorly edited add ins as well. I can't tell if they're trying to pull our leg or not.

Just remember most people don't feel compelled to write a review unless they really hate something
23 May 2021
There were plot holes and there were some unsavory characters (ahem Kate), but people insisting this is the worst film ever are kidding themselves. It's a zombie movie. You can't expect that much! Just enjoy the ride, even if it does seem a little excessively long and all the decent characters die off. IT'S A ZOMBIE MOVIE. Imagine if you took I Am Legend and combined it with an Oceans movie. You've basically got Army of the Dead. Is it great? No, but it's watchable if you've got nothing else going on.

Easy to binge!

It's exactly what you'd expect and with hilarious hosts and judges. Nicole Byer isn't for everyone (apparently, since the bad reviews hate her so much >:( you try and host a family friendly, comedy cooking show), but I can't figure out the absolute hate for her. She's making the show fun and by no means is too loud or obnoxious. She's the reason the show is any good. Her chemistry with the other host is so cute. I'd listen to their banter all day.

The title says it all. I'm so glad we didn't have to watch all the seasons and get almost no closure with the characters we were shipping. Thank you thank you.

A super fun episode
25 February 2021
It's fun! They had some real downer episodes in this season, so this light-hearted episode was a nice reprieve. It doesn't always have to be monsters, aliens and conspiracies.

Cool idea!

Warning: Spoilers
I never watched the animated version, so I don't have any frame of reference, but I'm betting it was nothing like this, which is fine.

I like the premise and I like where it's going... I find the main character absolutely insufferable. There was no point where I wasn't rolling my eyes at her selfish, bratty behavior. Talking back to teachers, stringing along Sky and letting Burned Ones into the safety barrier. She puts the entire school in enormous danger to satisfy her need to know her origins because ShE's SpEcIaL. It's a trope I can generally get behind and enjoy despite it having been run into the ground, but her character is ridiculous. Meanwhile, Sky had a way better story arch with his father and Silver. I love a good female lead, but this is one of those times I would have rather just focused on Sky than have to slog through Blooms ridiculous arch.

One of their best episodes but at a cost
3 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
So they transform a wraith into a human using Dr. Becket's retro virus. The acting is fantastic and they set up for a very intriguing super villain.

The problem I had was the ethics of all the characters we've come to love get a little muddy in that they've essentially decided to participate in biogical warfare. It's a really weird one-off in an otherwise morally upright group. It was an excellent episode, but you wouldn't recognize the characters.

Suspend your disbelief for this one
24 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Once you get past the blaringly obvious plot hole at the beginning, it's just another fun voyager ride. If it's not your thing--or you like to take voyager a little too seriously--this is definitely a frustratingly skippable episode.

My main issue is the underlying plot. The federation sent a probe and these aliens and used it to make weapons of mass distruction. Somehow it's humanity's fault that these aliens misused the probe? It's a hard idea to wrap your head around. The idea that these aliens decided its the federation's fault by sending the probe in the first place is as frustrating as their behavior during the entirety of the episode. It doesn't have the affect I think they were going for. In short, it just got annoying because it seemed to unrealistic and too ridiculous.

It's fun! Don't take it too seriously and don't take yourself so seriously you can't enjoy it. Just like the X-Files, every good scifi show has its silly episodes. If you can't enjoy it, that's a personal problem. 😉

Oh My Ghost (2015)

One of my favorite K-dramas so far!
19 November 2020
If I could change one thing, it would be for the writers to have chosen between a cute, rom -com or a serious drama, because there was some emotional whiplash! I think either choice would have been wonderful, but one second you're watching a cute k-drama about two people falling in love in the kitchen, and the next you're watching a heavy hitting, dark Supernatural TV show with a murder mystery and real danger. Not just "oh no I slipped and the love interest dramatically caught me". Like edge of the seat, thriller type danger. At times, having them both combined in one show got confusing as the viewer. I just kept trying to figure out what the writers were trying to do!

Still enjoyed it like crazy.

It's not as bad as everyone says
18 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
It's basically a female version of Supernatural, and I think the reason people dislike it so much. Because it's women doing the fighting instead of men. Sorry not sorry.

For sure it's not the greatest, but certainly not as bad as these reviews seem to think. It's just another supernatural CW show. It is what it is. Take it or leave it.

The whole running around with baking soda thing was over the top ridiculous, though.

Season 2 really pulled it together
4 April 2020
I was pretty wary in the first season. The klingons were a bit overkill, in my opinion. There were some good episodes that reminded me of the old star trek, but it wasn't until season 2 that they really hit gold. They introduced spock and captain pike, which saved the show. They were able to seamlessly weave the new narrative into the original series. I can't really explain how without ruining it, but it was a really fun ride.

Don't forget that it is a family drama
18 March 2020
Lots of complaining and low reviews because people don't like the family dynamics going on, but this is a family drama set in a scifi world. If there wasn't something constantly going wrong there wouldn't be a show, so I'm not sure why people are complaining about that either. The show is interesting, heartfelt at times and entertaining. The CGI is excellent, and once you get past the first few episodes where they're setting everything up, it starts really picking up.

Sorry it's not your average, everyday Oscar winner, but it's good. Pretty wild ride, but that's what you get with scifi. Too bad people can't just enjoy things anymore.

It's all the best parts of Star Trek
31 December 2018
All the things that made Star Trek TNG what it was are what makes The Orville so good. The difference between the two is that there aren't always happy endings in The Orville like you might have seen in TNG. In fact, certain episodes are downright devastating very early on. It's about the message and less about the action, grappling with some intense cultural issues we see today in an easy to digest sci-fi format.
