Sarvam Thaala Mayam (2018)
A movie with a breath of fresh air!
Rajiv Menon chose a very traditional subject as the movie's theme and nailed it just right. In this era of EDM lovers, this movie came just about the right time to remind us of our cultural beauty i.e, Carnatic Music. The way he's shown the discrimination on basis of caste and a man's determination to overcome all odds is inspiring. The only drawback back is that the movie fell a little flat in it's narrative. ARR's background music did it's magic as usual! You should go watch it if you want to see something new on screen and also, if you are a die hard ARR fan and have a passion for carnatic music, this movie might be your cup of tea!
2.0 (2018)
A movie that could have been hard hitting.
It has all the big names in the industry. Shankar, Rajini Kanth, Akshay Kumar, A.R.Rahman, Amy Jackson etc. The hype was through the roof. All Rajini stans were waiting for the magic duo to create magic on the screen once again. Everyone went to the theater to be thoroughly entertained for 2 and half hours but unfortunately, came back home with a headache because of the screeching noises. I don't know why the hell would they use such unpleasant noises. I know the movie was supposed to deliver a hard hitting message but for sure the noises didn't help, it didn't even let me process the information with peace. All I wanted to do was head back home and sleep. Amy Jackson was so beautiful, I wish there was more scenes with her. She was just like a beauty prop. The idea of a devilish aura after a man's death seeking revenge because a cell tower killed his birds certainly didn't sell. At least, the man could have been a living human seeking revenge, that would have been more convincing. Shankar although did try to deliver a good message, the taking of the movie didn't serve the purpose.
Bohemian Rhapsody (2018)
Mind Blowing!!!
Okay, Let me get this straight. If critics didn't like this, they can go to hell because this was a fine, fine movie. Rami Malek lived as Freddie mercury. He gave a spectacular performance and Oscar is on it's way home baby. For us, the 90's kids and today's generation who can never see Freddie on big screen or TV screen ever again, this is a blessing. I don't think anyone cares about the accurate representation of the story or whatever. Watching Freddie (or Rami playing Freddie) on the big screen itself is a boon. Just go watch it already if you haven't yet. All hail QUEEN!!! #Queenstan
