Star baseball player and national hero Sang-nam finds his career in jeopardy when he gets involved in a drunken brawl. His promoter, Charles, advises him to volunteer his time somewhere sympathetic to improve his public image. The place: a school for the deaf. The service: coaching its baseball team. The team has never won a game but is nonetheless in high spirits. They welcome the star coach with excitement but are soon disappointed by his lack of enthusiasm and cynicism. The schoolÂ’s music teacher and the teamÂ’s manager, Joo-won, confront Sang-nam for his insensitivity and overall bad attitude. But gradually, over time, Sang-nam and the kids open up to each other and a bond forms.
