Cries from the Maelstrom
Cries from the Maelstrom is a short experimental video inspired by children's accounts collected after the first atomic bombings. It is a heart-rending but hopeful narrative, largely in the words of real survivors, of the emotional devastation in Hiroshima and Nagasaki after the bombs fell. What moved the filmmakers so, and spurred us to do this project, was the burning concerns of the inhabitants: not to blame America, but simply to ask themselves: "did I do enough to help my fellow citizens in our time of trial?" A question we can all ask ourselves...
