The would-be assassin of President Ronald Reagan will seek his freedom on Monday from court-ordered restrictions that limit his movements.
The Associated Press is reporting attorneys for Hinckley will argue that the now 66-year-old should not be tied to restrictions imposed after he moved out of a Washington hospital in 2016.
Hinckley now lives in Williamsburg, Virginia, and has a rigorous schedule of medications and therapy supervised by doctors. He also is limited in travel, online activity, email accounts, possession of a firearm, or having contact with the children of Reagan or actress Jodie Foster, who was his obsession when he did the 1981 shooting.
Hinckley was 25 when he shot and wounded Reagan outside a Washington hotel. The shooting paralyzed Reagan press secretary James Brady, who died in 2014, and injured others.
Hinckley was found him not guilty by reason of insanity in a jury trial, and was ordered to live at St.

Sacha Baron Cohen’s Borat character is making a satirical pre-election pitch to female voters, asking them not to vote in the presidential election.
In a video posted Monday to Borat’s Twitter account, he said, “This is important message. Women — do not vote tomorrow. We hear if you do then glorious Premier Trump will lose. This is because like moths into a fire, you ladies are attracted by dangerous ideas like honesty, fairness and consent.”
“Do not believe the Democrat lies that Premier Trump do not like women. He really like them. 26 accusers cannot all be lying. He value ladies very much — up to $180,000 if they really pretty,” Borat continues. “If he stay in power and out of jail, similar monies could be going to you. This called Trump’s trickle down economy. Premier Trump very pro-women as he has made clear — your body, his choice. Women of US and A.

The critics, so far, have a unanimous verdict: “The Last Days of American Crime,” Netflix’s new sci-fi/heist mashup that features scenes of police brutality and other gratuitous violence, is one of the worst films… ever.
The movie, released on Netflix June 5, has a 0% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes, which means none of the 26 critical reviews tabulated by the site were positive. Overall, the site assigned a 2.27 out of 10 rating for the film across reviewers.
“The Last Days of American Crime” joins only 42 other films (with at least 20 reviews) to receive the dubious distinction of getting a Tomatometer goose egg, including Netflix’s “The Ridiculous 6” from Adam Sandler, “Gotti” starring John Travolta, 1990’s “Problem Child,” “Staying Alive” (also starring Travolta) and “Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol.”
The consensus is that, with protests nationwide over the police killing of George Floyd, the timing of the movie’s release is a disaster.

Abstract Entertainment and Eracme Entertainment have announced a new major motion picture, entitled Monkey, based on the beloved Chinese story Journey to the West. While it has been portrayed in previous productions in traditional settings, Monkey reimagines the story 4000 years after the original. A contemporary global action movie, Monkey begins when an unimaginable evil is once again threatening the world, bringing the lead character, the Monkey King, and his loyal friends back to save mankind. The film will be co-financed by Eracme Entertainment.
Said Producers Mike Bundlie and Barry Levine:
There has been a rush to bring western-originated movies to the Chinese market. Monkey reverses that and will be the first English language film focused on introducing a Chinese tale to the international audience in a contemporary setting. In the same way that European mythology made a successful transition from period-based films to modern tentpoles, Monkey opens the door...

As reported by Deadline, Stanley Kubrick’s written script for The Downslope will now be made into a film series by World War Z and Finding Neverland director Marc Forster, who will serve as producer for all three films and director for the first. Kubrick wrote the script in 1956 after his film Fear and Desire hit theaters, and before he started working on Paths of Glory. The film is said to be “a sweeping, historical action-drama,” according to Deadline, and will revolve around the Civil War. The first film of the trilogy will be based on Kubrick’s script and concept, and the subsequent films will expand on his original ideas and focus on the after-effects of the Civil War.
Kubrick’s death in 1999 has obviously not stopped his ideas from reaching the big screen, as seen with Spielberg’s film A.I. Artificial Intelligence in 2001. That film was brought about...

"World War Z" and "Quantum of Solace" helmer Marc Forster is attached to direct and produce the first film in a proposed film trilogy based on Stanley Kubrick's original 1956 screenplay "The Downslope".
The project is described as a a sweeping, historical anti-war action-drama which Kubrick penned between the release of his early films "Fear and Desire" and "Paths of Glory". Kubrick spent years developing and writing the story, creating detailed notes about how to film it and using the help of renowned Civil War historian Shelby Foote.
The story focuses on the bitter, strategic series of Civil War battles in the Shenandoah Valley between Union General George Armstrong Custer and Confederate Colonel John Singleton Mosby.
Mosby's cavalrymen continually outsmarted the much larger enemy forces in a sequence of raids, enraging Custer and setting both on a course for fierce revenge. With the expansion to a trilogy, the films will...

Variety reports that Twilight and The Grey actor Joe Anderson has joined the cast of Hercules as, "a marathon runner who brings Hercules news of enemy Rhesus' movement before the battle." The actor will next be seen opposite Daniel Radcliffe in Horns. Among their earliest releases was Hercules, boasting a Steranko cover, and it came with high production values and a bit of a buzz., The character returned for a second miniseries in and this interpretation captured Hollywood’s fancy. Universal Pictures' Oblivion is the only wide opener this weekend, pairing Tron Legacy's Joseph Kosinski with Tom Cruise, ready for a hefty debut weekend at the box office. The film debuts in 3,782 theaters. Despite some experts saying this one can do at least $30 million, the film should easily post more than that anticipated total, despite opening out of the tentpole session. Also in the cast of the film which is directed by Kosinski, who also wrote the script with William Monahan, are Morgan Freeman, Olga Kurylenko, Andrea Riseborough, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Melissa Leo. The film produced by Barry Levine, Jeffrey Silver and Kosinski, is definitely a movie to be seen on IMAX due to its eye-catching effects and total grand scale.

In today's installment of Hollywood bowing down to the eastern superpower that is China, Paramount Pictures has now announced its plans to institute a Chinese reality show to cast a handful of local extras in "Transformers 4."
Uh huh. Evidently, reality TV is the main Chinese squeeze, and after the "Iron Man 3" effort to achieve "co-production status" revealed the nation wouldn't stand for mere lip service in doling out its ticket fare distribution perks, Paramount decided to step up their game.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, the "Transformers 4 Chinese Actor Talent Search" was announced at a press conference in Beijing Thursday, and it'll place four winners — two of which should have prior acting experience — in the movie in various roles alongside "a number of talented Chinese actors and actresses." Portions of the film will also be shot in the area, and the show will air in June.

The next time the Avengers assemble on the big screen, don’t be surprised if you see them touch down at some point in China. Given the rapid, almost Hulk-like growth of the film market in that country over the past few years, Avengers director Joss Whedon is half-expecting to get a call any day now asking whether he can set part of the superhero sequel in a Chinese locale. “I’m working on the script right now, and if someone came to me and said, ‘We’re looking into doing a chunk of this in China’—well, I’d have to think about it,...

Rufus Sewell is the latest to join Brett Ratner’s upcoming Hercules. The pic already stars Dwayne Johnson (in the title role) and Aksel Hennie. Sewell will play Autolycus.
The film will be based on Steve Moore’s graphic novel Hercules: The Thracian Wars, written by Steve Moore with art by Cris Bolsin.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Aksel Hennie will star in his first big studio movie alongside The Rock In Hercules, the MGM/Paramount co-produced, Bret Ratner directed adaptation of the graphic novel Hercules: The Thracian Wars. Apparently Hennie will play a character called Tydeus, "a warrior devoted to Hercules who wields twin axes and is such a madman that he needs to be chained up at night when he sleeps". This version of the tale will strip away all of the supernatural elements of the mythology and reimagine Hercules as a mortal warrior with a "fearsome reputation", who leads a group of mercenaries on a mission where all is not what it appears. How exciting! The movie will be produced by Beau Flynn, Barry Levine and Ratner, and executive produced by Peter Berg, Sarah Aubrey and Jesse Berger.

Universal Pictures distributes the film from the director of Tron: Legacy, which looks fantastic and is one of the year's most-anticipated releases. This is great follow-up for Kosinski, a clearly very-talented filmmaker with a very bright future ahead of him. This is based on Kosinski's comic book which he wrote with Arvi Nelson. Karl Gajdusek and Michael Arndt adapt the script with Kosinski. The film's produced by Peter Chernin, Barry Levine, Duncan Henderson, Dylan Clark and Kosinski.
