I Am a Killer is now in its fourth season. A doc-series that puts death row inmates on center stage. The inmates chronicle their lives, to ultimately revisit what led them to commit the murders. Witnesses, family members to the victims and advocates alike are also interviewed.
A series that is right up the alley of true crime fans.
In six episodes real life crimes are analyzed, and relayed using archive and found footage, as well as interviews with the convicted murderers.
‘I Am A Killer’ is considered one of the best doc-series in the true crime genre, as it goes above and beyond the sordid details, which true enough, it does cover, but it also covers the narratives of the people involved in the terrible tragedies it addresses.
Episode List – Season 4 of ‘I Am A Killer” Family Matters
A murderer recounts the crime that ended one life and ruined his own.

Psycho-therapy was written and directed by Joshua Nelson (pictured right), who scripted and starred in a number of New York/New Jersey-lensed horror features including Pink Eye, Skinned Alive (a.k.a. Eat Your Heart Out) and Aunt Rose. This new project, he tells Fango, “is about a middle-aged psychotherapist who is abused by her husband and ignored by her patients. She is pushed to a very dark place where she feels that people who can’t change, or don’t want to change, have only one option—to be killed. She lures the challenged couples to an upstate getaway where she can finally fix them…her way.” The cast includes Rose Fiore, Karla Post, Alfred Cantilina, Michael Johnson, Ernest Romeo, Kerry Wittig and Michelle Michaels; Kevin Harrington served as the cinematographer and editor. Psycho-therapy is currently making the festival rounds, and will screen March 23 at the Jersey Gore Film Festival.

The long-gestating stage musical adaptation of the classic Meg Ryan/Tom Hanks rom-com Sleepless in Seattle looks like it’s nearly ready for its first curtain raise — assuming it doesn’t change its songwriting team for a third time.
The show’s producer, David Shor, announced today that they’ve hired composer Ben Toth and lyricist Sam Forman for the production, expected to open in Pasadena, Calif. in June 2013. Toth wrote the score for one of this year’s Sundance hits, Liberal Arts. Among Forman’s credits is the lyrics for 1999 musical I Sing!

James Tucker is the director behind Aunt Rose starring Joshua Nelson, Elizabeth Cooke, Velocity Chyaldd, Raine Brown and Kevin T. Collins. Aunt Rose follows a family who is token hostage by a group of criminals, however what they didn't anticpate was having to deal with Aunt Rose. You see Aunt Rose may appear sickley, but she has some supernatural powers that she isn't afraid to deploy in order to save her family. We wanted to know more about James Tucker, his work relationship with Joshua Nelson, and of course the movie, Aunt Rose. Here is what he had to say.
So who is James Tucker and what are you all about?
I am a filmmaker who loves to work behind and in front of the camera. As fate would have it, my first speaking role as an actor was in a comedy, the original Hairspray film directed by John Waters.

Joshua Nelson (pictured) was one of the busier talents on the East Coast independent horror scene in the 2000s, writing, producing and starring in such fright features as Aunt Rose, Pink Eye and Skinned Alive (a.k.a. Eat Your Heart Out). Now he’s getting back into the scene, making his directorial debut on a short called Welcome Home.

Fango just heard from Frank Garfi of Insane-o-Rama Productions, the New York-based outfit behind the ambitious horror dramas Strange Things Happen At Sundown and Za—Zombies Anonymous (a.k.a. Last Rites Of The Dead). He called in from the Poconos, where he’s busy lensing their latest production, Hellfire.
“It’s about four prostitutes who accidentally kidnap the Antichrist,” Garfi says of the movie, which he’s producing and Marc Fratto is directing from his own script. “It’s a little different from what we’ve done before. Our other movies have had multiple stories that come together as one in the end, while this is one story from beginning to end—a very tight, straightforward script. We’re very happy with it.”

I had never seen any of Alan Rowe Kelly’s films until he contacted me—literally moments after posting my first Gay Of The Dead blog. And yes, that is Alan in the photo to the left. Don’t worry, we’ll get to that later.
Kelly’s opening salvo to me was the grisly, intense and controversial A Far Cry From Home segment from the recently wrapped Gallery Of Fear anthology, which he co-wrote, co-directed and produced for his Southpaw Pictures. From there I jumped back to his first feature, I’LL Bury You Tomorrow, a loopy, sprawling, bloody feature that manages to wind storylines of seven main characters into one big crazy fest. After that, I popped in The Blood Shed, which starts off with a preteen kid being yanked in half and just gets more insane (see: awesome) from there.

As if the month of October weren't crowded enough what with all the various cons, film fests, parties, and of course our high holy day, Halloween, itself, word recently came down about an upcoming week-long run of horror and punk films called "8 Films To Kill For: Halo-ween Fest." Over the past few months I think I've heard about the indie horror pic Pink Eye a few times, it must have been for a good reason as Halo-8 Entertainment has picked up worldwide rights to the gory horror flick, featuring the writer, director and star of Lionsgate's Skinned Alive. James Tucker's feature, from scribe Joshua Nelson, follows a masked lunatic who escapes a small-town insane asylum where patients are subjected to bizarre drug experiments. Melissa Bacelar stars. Halo-8 plans a limited theatrical release this summer (now that's quick thinking), followed by a DVD bow September 30. The distributor, which has focused on cutting-edge features like the animal rights activist documentary "Your Mommy Kills Animals," will presents its new line of comics and graphic novels Thursday at the Wizard World Chicago convention.
