David Parfitt, producer of Oscar and BAFTA-winning “The Father,” is back with series “The War Rooms,” starring Jenna Coleman.
Parfitt will produce via his Trademark Films alongside Jamie Carmichael for Atlantic Nomad.
Created by David Chidlow, “The War Rooms” is the untold story of the women who lived, loved and triumphed in Winston Churchill’s secret Whitehall bunker. The series is based on the true story of Joan Bright (Coleman), who started WWII as a secretary and ended it organizing the great Allied conferences. Ian Fleming was her friend and it is rumored that Bright was the template for the iconic Miss Moneypenny character in the James Bond novels and films. Bright’s memoir “The Inner Circle: A View of War at the Top” has been optioned for the series.

Jenna Coleman, who recently starred in BBC/Netflix drama The Serpent, is taking on the role of Joan Bright, the woman who ran Winston Churchill’s secret Whitehall bunker, in a TV drama series.
Dr. Who star Coleman is attached to lead The War Rooms, created by Moving On writer David Chidlow, and comes from David Parfitt, fresh from winning two Oscars for The Father including for Anthony Hopkins’ performance and Best Adapted Screenplay, and former Content Media President of Film Jamie Carmichael.

Veteran UK casting director Priscilla John (Logan) has launched Casting Pictures Limited with fellow casting executive Orla Maxwell (Red Joan).
The duo have worked together for more than 20 years as casting director and co-casting director/associate but the new firm will mark the beginning of their casting director partnership. They will be supported by associates Francesca Bradley and Andreya Lynham.
