A sexual assault investigation into alleged actions by Rammstein frontman Till Lindemann has been dropped by German prosecutors due to a lack of evidence and testimony.
The investigation was launched in June following social media posts by a female fan accusing Lindemann of drugging her at a pre-show VIP party in Lithuania before approaching her to have sex during an intermission in Rammstein’s performance. The posts led to numerous fans calling out Rammstein’s “Row 0” VIP experience as a means for Lindemann to encounter and recruit female fans for sex.
However, German prosecutors have dropped the investigations, which “did not provide any evidence,” stating that the alleged victim’s claims were too vague and went unsubstantiated by law enforcement due to a lack of direct testimony from the said accuser, as reported by The Guardian.

Rammstein drummer Christoph Schneider has issued a statement on social media about the sexual misconduct allegations against frontman Till Lindeman, stating in part that the singer “has distanced himself from us in recent years and created his own bubble.”
The statement was posted to Schneider’s official social media accounts in his native German and opens with him stating the accusations have “shaken us as a band and me as a person.” Regarding the parties where the misconduct has been alleged to have taken place, Schneider said that he hadn’t seen or heard of “anything illegal” going on, but “things seem to have happened that, although legally ok, I personally don’t think are ok.”
Schneider continued by saying, “Certain structures have grown that went beyond the limits and values of the other band members. It is also important to us that Till’s parties are not confused with our official after-show parties.

World Cup-winning German soccer player Bastian Schweinsteiger is to be the subject of a new Amazon documentary.
Made by German production company Barefoot Films and produced by Til Schweiger, the film will chart Schweinsteiger’s glittering career, which peaked with lifting the World Cup in 2014.
Schweinsteiger played for Bayern Munich, Manchester United and ended his career at Chicago Fire, where he made 85 appearances. As well as following his on-field exploits, the film will have access to his life away from the pitch.
“With this documentary, that is exclusively available on Prime Video, great cinema meets great football,” said Christoph Schneider, managing director of Prime Video Germany.
The film will stream in Germany, Austria and Switzerland this year. It is the latest in a long line of Amazon sport documentaries, including All Or Nothing: Manchester City and Andy Murray: Resurfacing.

Amazon Studios has greenlit a German comedy series titled “The Bedfellow” (“Der Beischläfer”) starring comedian Markus Stoll, who is popular locally for playing a funny guy named “Harry G” who satirizes life in his native Bavaria.
Shooting has started in Munich on the six-part series, which is directed by Anna-Katharina Maier (“Die Klempnerin”) and produced by Thomas Peter Friedl’s The Amazing Film Company (“Cold Hell”).
In the show, an easygoing mechanic named Charlie Manzinger, played by Stoll, is selected for jury duty by the Munich district court. He comes to realize that the position offers “certain advantages,” such as his interaction with the female judge, played by Lisa Bitter (“Tatort”), according to an Amazon synopsis.

Amazon is getting into bed with comedian Markus Stoll for its latest German original.
The Svod service has commissioned Der Beischläfer (The Bedfellow) to launch on Amazon Prime Video in Germany, Austria and Switzerland in 2020. It is the latest example of the digital platform commissioning local European content.
Stoll, known locally as Harry G, will play lead Charlie Menzinger in the six-part series, which has just started filming. Menzinger, an easy-going mechanic, is appointed as a juror by the Munich District Court. With no way to avoid the assignment and no possibility of negotiation with recently transferred judge, Dr. Julia Kellermann (Lisa Bitter), Charlie reluctantly resigns himself to his fate. Instead of continuing in his life as a mechanic, lying under old Italian sports cars of his friend Xaver (Daniel Christensen), Charlie quickly realises that his new position offers certain advantages. His time as a lay judge, however, may change...
