Exclusive: Koreatown Ghost Story, a short film written and directed by Teddy Tenenbaum and Minsun Park, has been sold to Paramount Players with Tenenbaum and Park closing a deal to write and direct the full-length feature film. Neal Moritz and Original’s Toby Jaffe will produce, along with Jim Wedaa. Margaret Cho is attached to reprise her role from the short and will executive produce.
The film is a Supernatural horror tale based on a Korean marriage ritual – a young woman entertains a macabre offer that would let her pursue her dreams, for better or for much, much worse.
Tenenbaum and Park recently sold the pilot The Zone for NBC through ABC Studios and Melissa Rosenberg’s Tall Girl Productions, and they sold their spec horror feature Red Door to Columbia Pictures with Barry Josephson producing.
Wedaa’s credits include Brahms: The Boy II and the soon-to-be-released Netflix film Mixtape.

Katie Holmes stars in Brahms: The Boy 2, a sequel to the 2016 Lauren Cohan-headlined horror film.
The Boy arrived in early 2016 as a uniquely interesting horror movie offering, not only because it was headlined by Lauren Cohan, then one of the stars of one of TV’s hottest shows, AMC's The Walking Dead (to which she will soon return), but also because of its unique promotional strategy, which teased it as a haunted house movie; something that, as shocked audiences would discover, it is not. Indeed, while the film provided a profitable $64 million bang for STXfilms’ $10 million budget buck, a sequel – barring something straight-to-dvd – was not expected… until now.

Dark Horse Comics has paired with Universal Cable Productions to produce at least four comic book TV shows, including Umbrella Academy…
Will we ever be finished updating our list of upcoming comic book TV shows? Probably not, and today we have four more to add to the roster. This is due to Dark Horse Comics’ decision to sign a first-look deal with Universal Cable Productions.
Under this new alliance, four new shows have been put straight into development: Cullen Bunn and Tyler Crook's Harrow County; Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba's The Umbrella Academy (previously touted to be a film); Paul Chadwick's Concrete; and, an adaptation of Tom Vaughn’s feature script Back Up. That last one's the anomaly, seeing as no Dark Horse comics under that title have been published, yet.
Here are the official descriptions of these new projects, from the official press bumf…

Jacqueline Obradors has nabbed the lead female role opposite Wesley Snipes in Nine Lives for Millennium Films. Shooting is scheduled to start April 13 in Bulgaria with David Carson at the helm. Obradors will be seen on screens nationwide Friday starring opposite Vin Diesel in New Line Cinema's A Man Apart. Nine Lives, described as a cross between Jacob's Ladder and The Bourne Identity, centers on a former Army Special Ops soldier (Snipes) who is mistaken for a government agent and gets injected with a hallucinogenic mind-control drug that allows others to alter his reality with simple suggestions. Finding himself on the run, he must search for the antidote while battling his foes, his inner demons and the illusions the drug allows his enemies to create. Obradors will play a police detective and wife of Snipes' character. Tom Vaughan penned the screenplay. Millennium's Avi Lerner and Brad Jenkel are producing along with Jim Wedaa and Tom Jacobson, with Bob Misiorowski executive producing. Millennium is fully financing the project. Obradors is repped by Writers & Artists Agency, Mark Teitelbaum at Teitelbaum Artists Group and attorney David Feldman. Her other credits include the indie film Tortilla Soup and the TV series NYPD Blue.
Taking on a role reminiscent of his work in Face/Off, Nicolas Cage is attached to star in Back Up, a Tom Vaughan-penned spec that has been acquired by Castle Rock Pictures. A science fiction thriller described as Memento meets Face/Off, the project will star Cage as a cop who is brought back to life to investigate his own murder. It is being produced by the Jacobson Co.'s Tom Jacobson and Jim Wedaa in conjunction with Saturn Films' Cage and Norm Golightly. The project was brought into Castle Rock by Liz Glotzer and Martin Schaffer. Based on a story by Vaughan and Wedaa, Back Up is set in the near future, when technology allows for the resuscitation of humans and the "backing up" of their memories onto a computer. Cage plays a cop who gets "backed-up" and wakes up 90 days later with a gap in his memory. Learning that he was murdered and his wife has left him, Cage's character is intent on hunting down his murderer and figuring out what he did during the missing days that ruined his life.
