On March 10, 2020, surviving and alumni members of the Allman Brothers Band came together to celebrate the band’s 50th anniversary.
Given that the coronavirus was beginning to bear down on the country, as well as the world, the timing was dicey at best; live shows were effectively shut down two days later. “It was just starting to dawn on everyone that day that this isn’t something to fuck around with,” guitarist Derek Trucks told Rolling Stone soon after the show. “But it also felt like one of the last...

At Madison Square Garden last night, Al and Mitch from Saratoga Springs, New York, came prepared. Both longtime Allman Brothers Band fans who had first seen the group in the Seventies, they had their tickets in hand for “The Brothers: Celebrating 50 Years of the Allman Brothers Band.” Yet like everyone around them, they knew this would not be a normal night for music. Al, a Labor Department employee, pulled out a baggie his wife had stuffed with wipes, which he was planning to use to dab his seat.

In 2014 — when the Allman Brothers Band decided the time had come to stop touring — the band briefly discussed a show at New York’s Madison Square Garden. In the end, the group opted for a series of farewell performances at another Manhattan venue, the Beacon Theatre, where they had long done residences.
But on March 10, about six years after the band’s goodbye, that dream of a Garden event will become a reality. To pay tribute to the band’s 50th anniversary year, the surviving members of the last Allmans lineup — drummer Jaimoe Johanson,...

While "The Vampire Diaries" and "The Secret Circle" provided fans with cast previews of their episodes this week, "Supernatural" is going old school with the usual producer's preview. Watch Robert Singer discuss the dangerous line Sam walks to solve an old case.
"Supernatural" Episode 7.15 "Repo Man" (2/17/12 Air Date; 9:00-10:00 Pm):
Double Trouble — Four years ago, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) helped a woman named Nora (guest star Nicole Oliver) exorcise a demon that was systematically killing women in a small town. They managed to save a postal worker, Jeffrey (guest star Russell Sams), while vanquishing the demon, but now it seems the black-eyed monster has reared his ugly head and returned for a second helping.
The brothers visit Jeffrey, who has been locked in a psych ward since the incident, to see if he can remember any of the demon’s plans while he was possessed.

Amazing Race 20 Preview
Airs Sundays at 8pm (Et) on CBS
Premieres on February 19
After barely surviving its early days, The Amazing Race is entering its 20th season. This is a remarkable feat for what began as a low-key antidote to other reality series. The formula has been tinkered with over the years (sometimes to its detriment), but the basic structure remains the same. Eleven teams of two journey around the world and compete for one million dollars. New Zealander Phil Keoghan has hosted since the beginning, and he provides a friendly presence to explain the tasks and greet the teams. It’s an effective set-up for tense drama and great entertainment with the right cast. Each season’s success or failure may come down to chance, but interesting players is the key factor.
After stumbling with the mediocre “Unfinished Business” season last spring, The Amazing Race rebounded nicely in the fall.

Another episode, another dream sequence for Bonnie. The dead witches are again sending her clues about the sealed coffin, which she shares with Elena at the Bowh ("Burned Out Witch House") despite Stefan's desire to keep Elena out of the coffin game. Stefan arrives, none too pleased at Elena's presence, but Bonnie explains that she'll need Elena's help to find the person her dreams are pointing her to: Bonnie's mother Abby. With an assist from Damon, they locate where she's been living in North Carolina. The two head out on a road trip, but not before Damon spills about his and Elena's kiss.
Caroline arrives home from somewhere to find Tyler in her living room. He's there to apologize but she's not having it. Tyler persists, telling her he wants to be able to control himself, which is why he called on the first of tonight's returning absentee parents, Caroline's gay dad Bill.

Congratulations to Nina Dobrev! For her dual portrayal of Elena and Katherine, she just won the People's Choice Award for Favorite TV Drama Actress, the first ever write-in candidate to make the ballot. If her series aired on a respectable network, she'd have an Emmy by now.
This week's episode picks up the morning after last week's. Damon finally shows some skin in the shower and then wrapped in a towel, talking with Stefan about playing Hide the Coffin with Bonnie at the burned out witch house (Bowh). Damon's supposed to be struggling not to let Stefan know he macked on Elena but Somerhalder's performance is all over the place. Intercut with this is Elena getting in some Slayer training with Alaric. Her kickpunching the heavy bag is the most unrealistic looking combat training since Ralph Macchio painted the fence. Danielle Tarantola's Double Trouble is no average pet — he's a cloned version of Danielle's previous pup, named Trouble.
"They're identical ... and he does the same thing Trouble used to do!" she tells TVGuide.com.
The new series I Cloned My Pet (debuting Wednesday, 9/8c, TLC) takes a look into the practice that enables people like Danielle to reproduce her pet. "Why not get a new animal?" we asked. "I just wanted this dog," she says.

Welcome back, The Vampire Diaries! We've missed you! Last night's “mid-season premiere” or whatever term The CW's come up with for “back after two damn months off the air” opens an indeterminate time after the last episode with Bonnie walking through the woods to the burned out witch house. It's obviously a dream sequence, so, moving on...
Elena's out for a morning jog and spots some random behind her. She bolts and seemingly gives him the slip, only to have another random predictably show up directly behind her. Or maybe it's the same random. It's hard to tell. Anyway. Later at the Mystic Grill she worries at Bonnie that she's completely paranoid. Bonnie empathizes then complains about her recurring dream sequence, the plot-significant bits being four coffins, one of which contains Klaus holding Elena's necklace. Elena suggests it's a “witch dream” and gee, ya think? Bonnie demurs that it's just...

Many—maybe too many, looking at this bunch of bone-tired warriors of Av-virtue—were the travels the Ferroni Brigade embarked on all through 2011: oftentimes for festivals all over Europe, sometimes for visits to this archive or that as part of our programming arbeit (to be read with a Japanese drawl). During those months in the dark, we saw a lot—some of which chimed and rhymed with new works we encountered in this multiplex back home or that gallery abroad, on this collector's Steenbeck or in that producer's private projection room (they still exist).
On one of those trips, we were joined by our main Mubi-man, His Kasness a.k.a. the Kasest with whom we plunged one evening into a brainstorming on what The Festival would look and feel like (truth be told: it was more like a communal delirium—but what do you expect from folks sitting...

This week's episode of The Vampire Diaries opens with Alaric leading Elena to the Owl Cave. Damon pops out of the shadows and gives Elena a little scare, because he's 14. Alaric encourages her to ignore him, like he does. Yeah right, Ric. Damon's still mystically barred from the cave so Alaric leads Elena in, showing her the walls covered with pictograms and names in runic script. I used to be able to read runic and from what I remember it looks like the show did its homework on getting the names right. Runes are from the Vikings, so the symbols pre-date the founding of Mystic Falls by about a millennium.
A quick flashback shows Rebekah carving her name on the wall while a massively bewigged Klaus teases her about how a woman shouldn't handle a blade and how a woman's place is in the kitchen (because there are no knives...

This week's episode opens a few hours after last week's. Damon is bound to a chair with a fireplace poker stuck in his abdomen. Sadly, he remains fully dressed, except for his magic protective ring (witches can create magic jewelry that allows vampires to walk in sunlight). He thinks Stefan is behind it, apparently not seeing Mason standing by the window. Stefan wanders in and is oddly uncurious as to how Damon came to be lashed down. He pulls out the poker and removes a piece of the binding and wanders out again. Damon shouts that he'll free himself but before he can Mason pulls back the curtains, sizzling Damon in the morning sun.
In the town square, volunteers are setting up for yet another of the town's infinite number of public festivals. This week it's the “Night of Illumination,” when the town turns off the lights and fires up some hanging lanterns.

It's the first day of Senior Year at Mystic Falls High School. Go Timberwolves! But before classes start, Elena and Alaric head into the woods to train Elena on the finer points of vampire slaying. Alaric advises her to start working out because she's too weak to work his cunning slaying devices. Later outside the high school Elena, Bonnie and Caroline play a round of Bad Boyfriend Bingo, which Elena wins handily what with her boyfriend being soulless and evil and all.

Hey everyone, welcome to my first-ever The Vampire Diaries recap! We know there are a lot of Tvd fans on the site (and if you're not a fan, you should be), and I'm very happy to have the opportunity to write about it. If you're new to the show, it does have a fairly complicated mythology so let me explain who some of the major players are. (You can skip ahead if you already know the show!):
Stefan and Damon Salvatore: A pair of brothers who were turned into vampires in the 1860s. Each cut his own path of destruction over the next several decades, with Stefan in particular becoming known as “the Ripper” because of his viciousness. They are both in love with...
Elena Gilbert: She's like Bella from Twilight, if Bella wasn't worthless and insufferable. In love with Stefan. Also in love with Damon but refuses to admit it.

Love — be it newfound, or (kinda) fatally lost — doesn’t come easy for the pretty people of Mystic Falls. That was resoundingly confirmed when The Vampire Diaries‘ cast and executive producers Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec took the stage at the San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday evening. Here’s a taste of what The CW’s sexy series has in the works for Season 3.

"Big Brother 13" has started with a bang, as host Julie Chen dropped no less than three bombs on the contestants. We are so thrilled Evel Dick is back [*sarcasm*]. But let's see how we got there ...
Julie welcomes us and says the eight newbies are going to be forced to pick a partner to play the game with, then three former pairs are returning to play again. Not a huge shock, once they revealed the "Double Trouble"/"Dynamic Duo" twist when they announced the contestants.
I have no predictions as far as the pairs go, but having met the eight newbies - I really, really hope Kalie and Shelly team up. They were my faves by far.
Meet the New Hamsters
So in the intro packages, Dominic seems much more pathetic than he seemed in real life, with the "living with mom thing." Cassi comes across as the sweet girl she seemed when I met her.

The Big Brother 13 cast of houseguests has finally been revealed and this season there is going to be quite the surprising new twist! This morning, CBS announced the cast of housguests for the Big Brother 2011 season, but instead of the usual dozen or so names — there were only eight! Why? Because it seems Big Brother has decided to bring back three dynamic duos from seasons past. Oh yeah!
This year, Big Brother is presenting the “summer of Double Trouble” by welcoming eight new houseguests and bringing back some of the most notorious ‘duos’ from past seasons. The eight new players have been announced, but the identities of the duos will not be revealed until the Big Brother 13 premier with host Julie Chen on Thursday, July 7.

Tired of wondering what maddening new twist that Big Brother has in store for its houseguests when it returns July 7? Wait no more: CBS has announced that this season’s theme is “Double Trouble,” meaning the long-running reality show will feature (godhelpusgodhelpusgodhelpus) the return of “some of the most dynamic duos from the show’s history.”
Will and Boogie? Rachel and Brendon? Freakin’ Evel Dick and his daughter Daniele? CBS isn’t saying for now, only that “the return of these former houseguests will immediately impact the way the game will be played.” Their identities will be revealed during the premiere episode.

One of "Big Brother's" new hamsters is Kalia (Kah-lee-ah) Booker, a writer originally from Philadelphia. She tells us she has a relationship blog, but she writes under a pseudonym, so we don't know yet where her blog is on the 'net. If you flex your Google skills and figure it out, let us know!
When asked why she wanted to do "Big Brother," Kalia tells us, "I'm so secure in myself, I'm extremely opinionated, I'm extremely argumentative, so it's kind of like ... almost perfect."
She also adds, "I've watched 'Big Brother' since the very beginning and nothing pisses me off more than watching the show and vehemently yelling at the screen ... I would never be so naive to think that it's easy in there. I think that the biggest mistake people make is they get way too emotionally attached in there ... the smartest thing you could do is to walk in that house,...

It's officially the heart of summer when we have the "Big Brother" contestants. While we have the identities of the eight New houseguests, we are going to have to wait for the houseguests involved in the twist.
This summer's twist, "Double Trouble," will feature the return of "dynamic duos" from past "Big Brother" seasons. The return of these former houseguests will immediately impact the way the game will be played this summer.
The identities of the returning "Duos" will be revealed during the premiere episode on July 7, but right now CBS has a poll up that includes Will/Mike Boogie, Jeff/Jordan and Evel Dick/Danielle. Seriously, are these the only choices? Ugh. Below are the eight newbies who will spend the summer playing alongside the veterans in the new season of "Big Brother" and check out our photo gallery for all the glossy pictures so far.

Big Brother‘s 13th cycle — dubbed “Double Trouble” — will feature eight brand-new houseguests, the return of “some of the most notorious duos” from seasons past, and a very colorful house. (Get your sunglasses on….)
Joe Rogan Returns as Fear Factor Host

Season two of Archer may have come to a close last Thursday, but that doesn't mean the show has left the minds of our esteemed Round Tablists. Or is it Tablers? Either way, they gathered around to discuss the season finale.
So go ahead and board the S.S. Date Rape, because here we go! Toot toot!
What was your favorite Archer quote from last night?
Dr. Toboggan: Archer: "She even got me to stop drinking.... Well not all at once. I'm afraid the cumulative hangover alone would literally kill me."
Mark F: Really anything Mallory said. She was on her game but I'll go with her quote of "well than your as dumb as you are stupid" because it reminds me of growing up
Eric H: Pretty much anything out of cyborg Barry's mouth, but I think the funniest was him screaming "Reset the meter" with a car above his head.

Sterling Archer, the world's most dangerous spy...
Our hero loves hearing those words, but never more than now, for he is finally truly in love. The lucky woman is deadly blond (literal) bombshell Tatya Kazanova, the babe who saved his ass in Moscow. Smitten, Archer does what any adoring man would do... try to bang her on his mother's desk. He doesn't get very far.
Malory - And you, go see Krieger this instant.
Archer - I don't need a doctor, Tatya doesn't have Vd, mother!
Maroly - You haven't had sex with her?
Archer - Ha ha, for your... Wow, that was pretty good.

"Double Trouble," the final episode of Archer's second season, is a fantastic example of how great the show's ensemble is. Each character's contributions fit together like some sort of ... wait, I had something for this. A big, hilarious Lego set. Nah, I'll think of something better. Come back to me.
This week's episode is a direct continuation of last week's "White Nights." Archer has brought back the beautiful former Kgb agent Katya Kazanova, which has raised the suspicions[...]...

"One for three off the roof, bitch!"
Last night, a super villain was literally built on Archer. In a ridiculous parody of the Six Million Dollar Man, Archer's nemesis, Barry, was rebuilt as a cyborg by the Russians for no apparent reason. The dude was just missing a leg. But for some bizarre reason, he was given a new eye, arm, and robotic organ system. Ridiculous?
More like ridiculously awesome. This is Archer. And this is kind of silliness we've come to expect and love from this spy comedy. And that silliness made "Double Trouble" one of the funniest episodes in the show's history.
No, it doesn't need to make sense why they'd rebuild an Odin agent and send him to retrieve Katya Kazanova versus sending in one of their sleeper cells. Nor why they sent him to America without even instructing him of his mission. But hey, when you sow the wind,...

To celebrate the 10th season of "American Idol" (does that make anyone else feel ancient?), we're digging into the MTV News archives each week to take a look at monumental moments in "Idol" history.
Back in 2002, Kelly Clarkson was just a gleam in America's eye, not the chart-topping pop/rock diva she's become. Will the new season — which kicks off Wednesday night (January 19) — find just as stellar a superstar? Only time will tell. Until then, let's take a look back at This Week in "Idol":

Double Trouble - A double elimination loomed since the judges invoked the save last week.
Ryan reported 34 million votes were cast, the highest number this season.
The group number, a medley of Elvis classics, was bad. The lip syncing and choreography were amateurish. Couldn.t they either sing live or leave out the medley altogether? Who likes this?
Next up, was the Ford Music Video. It encouraged us to go green with the Fusion Hybrid, to the tune of .Light and Day Reach for the Sun..

Such a sexy couple.
Contrary to popular opinion (in our heads), we're not all-knowing around here. So when we got a tweet from Aiden James yesterday, we were a little stunned to have missed out on this sexy out musician. Why didn't one of you tell us?
From his website we get a basic bio that doesn't begin to tell the story:
With humble upbringings in a struggling working class family, becoming something other than ordinary was not celebrated or encouraged. Aiden refused to accept that and fled to Philadelphia where he embraced urban life, not to mention the local music scene. Currently living in downtown Philadelphia, this talented, twenty something is making great strides for a self taught musician.
No, the story is in the music, which is an infectious folk-pop, and in the video, which takes the old school path of storytelling. Every home has a history, a...

Recently, Vipul Shah.s London Dreams promos ran into trouble with the censor board as it had Salman Khan chanting the Hanuman Chalisa during a rock concert. It was only when the producer-director approached the tribunal that the promos were cleared.A source said, .The censor board felt that chanting the Hanuman Chalisa during a rock concert might hurt some religious sentiments so they asked Vipul to change the visuals. Vipul, who thought otherwise, approached the revising committee, who too turned him down. So Vipul went to Delhi and approached the tribunal, which accepted his point of view and passed the promos..Vipul Shah confirmed the news and said, .Lord Hanuman is also known as Sankat Mochan, which means one who puts an end to all problems. In the film, Salman plays a simpleminded Punjabi, who believes that chanting the Hanuman Chalisa will put an end to the problem he is facing.

Double Trouble: Sam Worthington contemplates his surrogate in Avatar One of the reasons ticket sales have actually risen during the recession is that twelve dollars, however extortive, is still a relatively cheap toll to escape humdrum reality for two hours. But there are a handful of upcoming movies in which it is the characters on screen who do the escaping, who cross a portal that takes them out of their bodies, out of their surroundings, or out of their material reality. In other words, we all want to be in pictures, but even if we were, we'd want to be someplace else. I don’t think there’s any one reason these are all coming out now. Maybe it’s the Ed/Truman Show effect where two nearly identical movies come out at the same time. (Think Capote/In Cold Blood or Antz/A Bug’s Life.) Or maybe...

Mary Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen unveiled their new book at Borders in Los Angeles yesterday and they both looked pretty amazing! Even though the stars met some Peta Protesters outside, inside the store they were glowing. This is the part where we would say who was wearing what, but to be honest we all know we can't really afford what the Olsens wear so lets just say they both looked great in champagne tones and heavy leather accents. We wonder if we can find these outfits in their Walmart line? We highly doubt it.
