Linkin Park is reportedly considering reuniting with a female vocalist in place of late frontman Chester Bennington.
Billboard reports that the band is fielding offers for a potential tour and festival headlining dates to take place in 2025. The identity of the female vocalist is not known at this time.
Following Bennington’s death July 2017, Linkin Park went on a permanent hiatus. In the time since then, the band’s surviving members have only performed together once – at a tribute concert honoring Bennington that was held in October 2017.
Earlier this year, Linkin Park released a new greatest hits album called Papercuts, which contained a previously unheard song called “Friendly Fire” featuring vocals from Bennington. “Friendly Fire” subsequently hit No. 1 on the US Rock and Alternative Airplay chart.

CBS’ very recently cancelled NCIS: Hawai’i this Monday night served up Part 1 of its Season 3 — and now series — finale. How high are the stakes heading into next week’s very final episode? (And who didn’t make it out of Part 1 alive?)

In summer 2012, singer Jeff Gutt walked onto The X Factor audition stage and stunned judges Britney Spears, Simon Cowell, Demi Lovato, and L.A. And in a scene straight out of a movie, a loud thunderclap from a nearby storm echoed throughout the theater as he soaked in the adulation. “I’ve heard that song a lot,” said Cowell. “I’ve sat in this chair a long time. 20 years ago, Saw made an indelible impact on the horror genre. Not only did it usher in the so-called “torture porn” subgenre that would become synonymous with the aughts, but it also launched the career of filmmaker James Wan, who has firmly cemented his place among the masters of horror with follow-ups like The Conjuring and Insidious.
In the two decades since, the lucrative franchise has spawned nine sequels — 2005’s Saw II, 2006’s Saw III, 2007’s Saw IV, 2008’s Saw V, 2009’s Saw VI, 2010’s Saw: The Final Chapter, 2017’s Jigsaw, 2021’s Spiral: From the Book of Saw, and 2023’s Saw X — with a worldwide box office total of over $1 billion.
Despite being often maligned by detractors for its mindless sadism, fans are just as much invested in the series’ soap opera-esque melodrama as the innovative death traps. Formulaic though the general plots may be, the non-linear storyline is deceptively...

Youngr turns back the clock to the year 2000 and transports Linkin Park’s introspective rap-rock ballad ‘In The End’ into ‘Tried So Hard,’ a house-laden dance track custom made for the here and now.
In true Youngr fashion, ‘Tried So Hard’ started out as an epic real-time studio build, broadcast via his social media channels. Fans lit up the comments section with huge kudos and a defiant desire for official release.
One fan commented “This is from the future bro”whilst another raved; “Dude this is just sick. I’ve been playing this all day long.”
With finishing touches, ‘Tried So Hard’ is now ready for the world. Performing the original sombre piano melody, Youngr turns the tempo up a notch, looping in deep synths and percussive tones, before jumping on the mic to recite Chester Bennington’s original lyrics and introduce his own swaggering bars. Linkin Park have dropped a teaser for the unreleased song “Friendly Fire,” which features vocals by the late Chester Bennington.
The band shared a snippet of the track on its official X/Twitter account, describing it as a “new, unreleased song from the One More Light 2017 sessions.” Tragically, Bennington would take his own life just two months after the album’s May release that year.
The short teaser reveals quite a bit about the song, which has the same synthpop qualities as many other tracks on One More Light.
Bennington’s vocals are prominent throughout, with the following lyrical passage being captured in the 30-second snippet: “We’re falling apart for no reason / We’re pulling the trigger in a useless war / If we go back and go into the black / What are we fighting for? / What are we fighting? / It’s just friendly fire.”

Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda has released a new single called “Already Over,” a straight-ahead rocker with elements of pop-punk and power pop.
While the tune is noticeably different from Linkin Park’s music, Shinoda explains that there is a commonality in the sound, including one of the instruments he used to record the new track.
“‘Already Over’ came to me as I was sitting with my favorite guitar in my hands — the same guitar I used on songs from ‘What I’ve Done’ to ‘In My Head,’” remarked Shinoda, who played all instruments on the song. “There was a familiar DNA to the song that I think Linkin Park fans will recognize. For me, it creates a bridge from the past to a blurry but exciting future.”

Disturbed singer David Draiman made an impassioned and personal speech onstage during a recent show in Milwaukee, telling the audience that he recently almost lost his life to “addiction and depression.”
While referencing the Disturbed song “A Reason to Fight,” an emotional Draiman mentioned how he missed his late friends like Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington, Stone Temple Pilots’ Scott Weiland, and Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell,” while adding that a couple months ago he “almost joined them.”
He told the crowd the following:
“A reason to fight — we all need one. The demons that are known as addiction and depression are very, very real. They are diseases no different than cancer. You can’t see depression. You can’t see addiction. It festers inside. It metastasizes, takes over your body and mind, your soul. And I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of losing everybody I love to depression and addiction.

Linkin Park have shared another unreleased track, “Fighting Myself,” form the upcoming 20th anniversary reissue of their second album, Meteora, out April 7.
“Fighting Myself” is vintage Linkin Park, with Mike Shinoda spitting angst-ridden bars over simmering production, before late singer Chester Bennington bursts in with a monster chorus, paired with arena-sized guitars. “Falling from grace I watch it all come apart,” Bennington sings, “Knowing I could’ve changed it all from the start/Fighting myself, I always lose.”
“Fighting Myself’ — which arrives with an animated music video directed by Jacky Lu and made with Kaiber.

Linkin Park’s sophomore album, Meteora, celebrates its 20th anniversary on Saturday (March 25). In honor of the milestone, the band is gearing up to release a 20th anniversary deluxe reissue of the multiplatinum effort. Now, Linkin Park have debuted a second previously unreleased song from those sessions, “Fighting Myself.”
“Fighting Myself” follows “Lost,” which the band released in February. While “Lost” highlights the late Chester Bennington’s melodic vocals, “Fighting Myself” sees Mike Shinoda rapping the verses and Bennington coming in on the chorus to plead, “Fighting myself, I always lose.”
“Lost” recently went to No. 1 on the rock and alternative radio charts. Time will tell if “Fighting Myself” sees the same trajectory.
The 20th anniversary reissue of Meteora will hit stores on April 7 in a variety of packages, including a limited-edition super deluxe box set, a vinyl box set, a deluxe 3-cd version, and as a digital download. To pre-order the collection,...

Mike Shinoda wouldn’t want to perform with a hologram of Linkin Park’s late lead vocalist Chester Bennington.
Bennington died by suicide in July 2017, and his death is, understandably, “a very sensitive subject,” Shinoda said.
In a new interview with 94.5 The Buzz, Shinoda shared when talking about performing with holograms: “I feel like those are creepy. Even if we weren’t talking about us, if we weren’t talking about Chester, which is a very sensitive subject, and we would have our feelings about how we would represent that.
“For me, that’s a clear no. I’m not into that.”

Linkin Park is celebrating the 20th anniversary of their second album Meteora by releasing a previously unreleased song called “Lost,” of course featuring the lead vocals of the late Chester Bennington.
“‘Lost,’ a new, never-before-heard song from the Meteora archives,” wrote the band on Twitter Monday, sharing a snippet of the soon-to-be-released song, which features Bennington’s vocals as he sings: “‘Cause when I’m alone, I’m lost in these memories, living behind my illusion.”
The rock band had previously shared a countdown to their website, which expired on Feb.

Friends Jeanene Erdahl and Lisa Larson drove all night from Minnesota to Graceland, arriving in Memphis at 4:30 in the morning to queue up for a memorial honoring the life of Lisa Marie Presley, who died last week at 54. Later today, they’ll turn around and do it again.
Erdahl and Larson, who became fast friends seven years ago after bonding over their mutual love of Elvis, watched the memorial service just steps from where mourners like Axl Rose and Alanis Morissette were paying musical tribute to the only child of Elvis and Priscilla Presley.

Linkin Park shared a rare early demo, “She Couldn’t,” one of several previously unreleased tracks set to appear on the 20th-anniversary edition of the band’s debut album, Hybrid Theory, out October 9th via Warner Records.

Chester Bennington’s first band Grey Daze have dropped a new song, “Soul Song,” accompanied by a touching video directed by the late singer’s son, Jaime Bennington.
“Soul Song” is a booming alt-rock ballad that moves from atmospheric verses tinged with electronic elements into an epic chorus bolstered by big grunge guitars. “And freedom rained,” Bennington howls, “God has come/With the rivers of blood/Pushed back in my veins.”
The video for “Soul Song” incorporates archival footage of Bennington and sprawling nature scenes with Jaime at their center.

When Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington was 18, he wrote the lyrics to “Sometimes,” a soulful, song about longing for better days, for his grungy first band Grey Daze.
A new video for the tune starts with a recording of a woman calling Bennington, saying she’s going through a hard time. The clip proceeds to show Bennington’s lyrics comforting her. “Maybe things will get better, maybe things will look brighter,” he screams in the chorus. And over moody strumming, he offers, “Sometimes people surprise you.”

Although it would have seemed unimaginable in the Nineties, the decade when Stone Temple Pilots rode the grunge wave to the top of the charts with Big Riffs and Scott Weiland’s Bigger Voice, the band seems to have entered an awkward “Jethro Tull phase” on their eighth album, Perdida. Yes, there’s flute. Yes, there’s acoustic guitar and string accompaniments. What’s missing from the formula, though, is witty, cutting lyrics and well, some excitement.

Everything changed for him when he wowed Sean Dowdell, a local drummer a couple of years older than him, by singing Pearl Jam’s “Alive” nearly flawlessly in a band audition. “He had this raw talent,” Dowdell recalls of the then–15-year-old Bennington. “He understood the nuances in the music.”

In 2009, Anders Osborne found himself at rock bottom. He was bankrupt, his house was in foreclosure, his wife had kicked him out, and he couldn’t see his two young kids. His livelihood was playing gigs, but he couldn’t even do that — he’d often show up too drunk or high to perform. “For close to a year, I’d [either] try to find a friend’s couch to sleep on [or] I lived in the park,” says Osborne, a New Orleans-based singer-songwriter who’s collaborated with everyone from Phil Lesh to Tim McGraw.
