With production now underway and first cast photos revealed below, the creator of Sons of Anarchy and veteran of The Shield said to Tudum, “I am fascinated by the metamorphosis of good into evil. Technology giveth and taketh away. We can watch most movies with the click of a button from our couch but no longer have the joy of going out to the video rental store. We can also buy and digitally “own” any movie at a moment’s notice, but more and more, physical copies of movies aren’t even being made.
The movie theater has stayed the course, however. Through Covid-19 shutdowns, insane movie budgets followed by box office disasters, the rise of quality TV shows like Game of Thrones, streaming, The Flash… theaters have survived, thank God. That being said, each year, more movies conveniently grace us with their presence at home and only at home.
It’s not always a bad thing for films to skip movie theaters entirely. But I’d be lying if I said it wouldn’t have been nice to have the option to see...

Fans of the video game seem to be happy about the tone, the production design, and the action in Prime Video’s first teaser trailer Fallout. And equally important, viewers who’ve never even heard of the video game seem to be into the teaser trailer’s vibe.
“Based on one of the greatest video game series of all time, Fallout is the story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have,” reads Prime Video’s synopsis. “Two-hundred years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind—and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird, and highly violent universe waiting for them.”

Prime Video teased some big announcements during the Ccxp fan event in São Paulo, Brazil, and we're grinning from ear-to-ear with what we got.
We'll start with one of the most significant announcements.
The Boys Season 4 has a trailer. After the end of Gen V Season 1, we've been dying to know what would become of some of our favorite characters.
Of course, we will have plenty of lingering questions from The Boys Season 3 to be answered.
The highly-anticipated footage introduced Jeffrey Dean Morgan into The Boys universe.
Prime Video is keeping details about his character under wraps, but the footage certainly gives us some indication of what he's like.
He seemingly knows who Butcher is, but he doesn't know the show's name -- or the group he may or may not be about to work with.
"Your team, what's your code name again?" Morgan's character says.
"The Boys," Butcher responds,...

This article contains spoilers for Gen V episode 4.
When episode 4 of The Boys spinoff Gen V isn’t indulging in breathtaking acts of penile violence, it’s introducing something else the flagship franchise is known for: a truly loathsome supe.
Though the term “supe” in The Boys‘ universe is short for “superhero,” everyone knows by now that there’s little heroic about Vought International’s roster of Compound V-enhanced individuals. “Heroes” on The Boys run the gamut from the mostly decent Annie January a.k.a. Starlight (Erin Moriarty) to the bumbling and corrupt The Deep (Chace Crawford) to the outright terrifying and evil Homelander (Antony Starr). And now Gen V has brought us true crime specialist Tek Knight (Derek Wilson), who is malevolent and gross in a way we haven’t witnessed yet.

Huge news for fans of old-school horror as Bloody Disgusting and Screambox have acquired U.S rights to one of my favorite horror films of the year, Here for Blood, an over-the-top gory and insanely fun home invasion slasher that’s no doubt going to gain cult status.
The news was first reported by JoBlo over the weekend.
Directed by Daniel Turres, Here for Blood follows a down-on-his-luck wrestler (Shawn Roberts; Albert Wesker in the Resident Evil films) and his girlfriend (Joelle Farrow) who are having a hard time making ends meet. When his girlfriend finds herself overwhelmed by exams, muscle-bound wrestler Tom O’Bannon steps in to cover one of her babysitting gigs.
But his chill night of junk food and video games quickly takes a turn for the cult-ish when the home is invaded by a gang of mask-wearing maniacs. Isolated and unprepared, Tom, his girlfriend, and a...

Warning: references to self-harm follow.
"Gen V" is set at a school for superheroes ("Supes") and so naturally features a cast with a wide variety of powers. The most grotesque ability belongs to our lead, Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair); she can telekinetically manipulate blood. So far, we've seen Marie wield her power as a weapon and a healing tool (she keeps someone with a sliced neck from bleeding out).
Marie's powers arrived, naturally, during her first period at age 12. Superpowers as a metaphor for puberty is nothing new (see Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man"). However, this is the cruel world of "The Boys" — Marie couldn't control her powers and accidentally killed her parents. Now, she also uses her powers as part of a self-harm ritual; she keeps a pocket knife handy and is shown repeatedly slicing open her hand palms to pull blood out from the wounds.

The Boys and Invincible already had enough in common with both being superhero shows on Amazon Prime. But as early as season 1, The Boys added an element to the show that wasn’t present in the comics. This minor change only added more similarities between the two unconventional superhero shows.
[Warning: This article contains spoilers for The Boys comic series and television show]
The 1 change that had a massive effect on ‘The Boys’ Antony Star, Karl Urban, and Cameron Crovetti in ‘The Boys’ | Amazon Prime
The Boys television series took a few creative liberties that differentiated it from its comic book counterpart. Alot of these changes ranged from adding characters who don’t exist in the comic. Sometimes, characters’ story-lines from the comics are completely revamped and given new direction in the Amazon series. As early as season 1, the show started tampering with the lore established in the source material. And one of the show’s...

When Lionsgate first announced that they were developing a genre project called Cobweb, the company – which had previously brought us horror films like The Devil’s Rejects, Cabin Fever, the Hostel films, and of course the Saw franchise – said they were doing so with the intention of taking back their “ownership” of horror. But the movie doesn’t seem to have made much of an impact since reaching theatres at the end of last month. We previously heard that Cobweb will be getting a Blu-ray, DVD, and digital release on September 12th (copies of the Blu-ray and DVD releases can be pre-ordered at This Link)… but now it has been revealed that the digital release is actually going to happen this Friday, August 11th! The digital version of the film can be pre-ordered right Here.
Our own Tyler Nichols thought the movie was good enough to give it an 8/10 review.

Four and a half years ago, Lionsgate – a studio that had once been a prominent force in the horror genre, with releases like The Devil’s Rejects, Cabin Fever, the Hostel films, and of course the Saw franchise – announced that they were developing a genre project called Cobweb with the intention of taking back their “ownership” of horror. The film was given a theatrical release at the end of last month… but we haven’t heard anything about how it’s done at the domestic box office. It hasn’t been listed on any box office charts. The only number we have is a worldwide total that’s just under $2 million. So it seems not many people have seen Cobweb. Maybe it will do better when it reaches home video. Lionsgate will be giving the film a Blu-ray and digital release on September 12th, and copies can be pre-ordered at This Link.

If you've watched the season 3 finale of "The Boys," you might be a little confused by the headline of this piece. The show killed Black Noir off, after all — pretty definitively, it seemed — so where else could they possibly go with him?
But if we know anything about the corporation behind the Seven, it's that they always like to downplay the damage the team has gone through over the years. When Translucent died back in early season 1, Vought kept it hidden from the public for months. And when Supersonic was murdered by Homelander in season 3, they passed it off as an overdose. Of all the supe deaths in the series, Black Noir is probably the easiest for Vought to downplay, because the guy wore a mask in public at all times. They can easily just put...

Netflix’s “Marianne” may be no more but creator Samuel Bodin will return to the genre with Lionsgate’s horror movie Cobweb, which is arriving in theaters on July 21, 2023.

Lizzy Caplan (“Castle Rock”) and Antony Starr (“The Boys”) will lead the cast, starring in the film alongside Cleopatra Coleman and Woody Norman.
“Eight-year-old Peter is plagued by a mysterious, constant tap, tap from inside his bedroom wall – a tapping that his parents insist is all in his imagination. As Peter’s fear intensifies, he believes that his parents (Lizzy Caplan and Antony Starr) could be hiding a terrible, dangerous secret and questions their trust. And for a child, what could be more frightening than that?”

Netflix's "Wednesday" is not the typical Latina representation we're used to seeing. Assistant professor of Media Studies at the University of South Florida's Department of Communication Diana Leon-Boys, PhD, says we've become accustomed to the "can-do Latina" girl. From shows like "The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia" to Marvel's "Runaways," this Latina can do anything she sets her mind to thanks to her positive attitude. She's a plucky go-getter, a pleaser, and if she faces any systemic barriers, they are not described and certainly not ascribed to sexism or racism.
"She can do it all and she can lift herself up by her bootstraps, which can become harmful and problematic," Dr. Leon-Boys, who wrote "Elena, Princesa of the Periphery: Disney's Flexible Latina Girl," says of the can-do Latina archetype. She's grateful to see this new type emerge in the last decade or so, crediting the more empowered approach to portraying Latina girls.

The title “Halloween Ends” is a bit off, and that’s not just because nobody in their right mind seriously thinks this lucrative franchise will completely stop here.
Even if you take filmmaker David Gordon Green at his word, this new “Halloween” movie doesn’t put much of a button on the series. It says very little that wasn’t already said in “Halloween Kills,” a divisive sequel which attempted, with some success, to reframe the whole series as a treatise on multigenerational trauma, culminating with the metaphysical rebirth of Michael Myers as an immortal idea, a despicable living legend.
Instead of providing any fresh perspectives on Myers and his impact on the long-suffering town of Haddonfield — or its most famous residents, the Strode family — “Halloween Ends” merely offers an extended, one might say extremely padded, coda to the tale that Green has been telling. The film eventually provides some...

At the center of Freddie Gibbs’ oul old eparately is “Rabbit Vision,” which finds him regretting moments in his life. “Me and Jeezy haven’t spoken in years, but I got love for him/Coulda talked it out, but I spoke out, I let it get to me,” he raps, offering an olive branch to the man who signed him in 2011 before the two had a very public falling-out. As a lush beat from Boi-1da, Jahaan Sweet, and Roget Chahayed winds down, an answering-machine service for the Triple S Hotel Resort & Casino chimes in.

The anthology series Tales of the Walking Dead is scheduled to premiere on AMC at 9pm on Sunday, August 14th – and showrunner Channing Powell has said that they’re using this show to take risks and push the boundaries of the Walking Dead franchise. The first season of Tales of the Walking Dead consists of six episodes, and according to Powell we can expect three of those episodes to be closer to the tone of The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead, while the other three will be a bit more “out there”. But Tales of the Walking Dead isn’t going so far out there that it will include a musical episode. Yet. Powell confirmed that a musical episode has been scripted and could happen in a future season.
Powell said,

Ever since X-Men veteran Hugh Jackman put away his claws after 2017’s Logan, Marvel fans have been very busy debating who should replace the Australian actor as Wolverine in an MCU reboot. Many names have been thrown around over the years, including Daniel Radcliffe, Pablo Schreiber, Keanu Reeves, Gael Garcia Bernal (who’s actually been cast as a different Marvel character), and The Boys scene-stealer Antony Starr.
But it’s another The Boys star who’s long been at the top of the fan cast list: New Zealand actor Karl Urban. It’s easy to see why. Even before the Amazon Prime comic book adaptation, Urban had already left an indelible mark on geekdom as Éomer in The Lord of the Rings movies, Dr. Leonard McCoy in the most recent trilogy of Star Trek films, and Judge Dredd in the underrated 2012 reboot, proving his chameleon-like ability to play any nerdy role you throw at him.

This The Boys article contains spoilers for season 3 episode 8.
According to The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke, it’s no big secret what the show’s ultimate plan is.
“By the time we get to the end of the series, whenever that is, (Homelander) needs to be ready to destroy the planet,” Kripke tells Den of Geek. “I think it’s obvious that we’re building to that being the core problem. It would be weird if we didn’t. It would be weird if we built to ‘oh no, turns out the whole time it was Termite.'”
Though it might have already been readily apparent to anyone who has watched the show thus far or read Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s comic of the same name, everything on The Boys comes down to Homelander. As long as there is a nearly invulnerable superman out there testing the limits...

This article contains major spoilers for The Boys Season 3
Even before the third season of The Boys hit Amazon Prime, showrunner Eric Kripke promised more superhero carnage than we’ve ever seen. Given all the gory depravity of seasons one and two, it would be understandable if viewers dismissed Kripke’s statements as nothing but hype. But within five minutes of the season premiere, all doubters were silenced. Things only got more intense from there, from the super-heroic hedonism of Herogasm to the increasing stakes of Butcher’s battle against Homelander.
How will the show cap off its craziest season? Only time will tell, but the previous seven episodes have done plenty of setup for what promises to be an explosive finale. Here’s what you need to know before watching episode eight, “The Instant White-Hot Wild.”

"The Boys" wouldn't be the head-popping series it is without its many unexpected twists and turns. Amid all the explosive chaos happening in season three, which premiered on June 3, episode five finally gives viewers a small break from the show's gore and grossness - shockingly enough, with a full musical moment from Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) and Frenchie (Tomer Kapon).
"I felt like I was on a different show filming the musical number."
Fukuhara tells Popsugar she almost couldn't believe she got the chance to film such a lighthearted scene for the action-packed series, as her Supe character is almost always covered in blood (and someone else's guts). "I felt like I was on a different show filming the musical number because usually Kimiko is covered in blood or mud and she's barefoot and crawling around the train tracks and everything," she says. "That whole sequence was really special to me,...

This article spoilers up to The Boys season 3 episode 5 and minor spoilers for all of Supernatural.
Jensen Ackles played Dean Winchester for 15 years on Supernatural – and he’ll be doing so again, in voice-over, for CW’s The Winchesters this autumn. Of course, Ackles is a professional actor and entirely capable of playing more than one character, and like his co-star Jared Padalecki he did other things during Supernatural’s run as well. But still, that length of time inhabiting one character is bound to have an effect on an actor’s choices. In fact, it can be a real bonus in creating a new character, even one as different from Dean Winchester as his new character on Prime Video’s The Boys, Soldier Boy.
The Boys isn’t totally unrelated to Supernatural, as it was developed for television by Eric Kripke, the creator of Supernatural and showrunner for its first five seasons.
