Like other long-running procedural series, "Criminal Minds" is an institution of network television. After an admirable fifteen seasons on CBS, the series was given a new life by Paramount+ -- one of the quickest revivals in television history -- with "Criminal Minds: Evolution," which premiered in November 2022. While it may not be the longest-standing procedural nor the most critically acclaimed, "Criminal Minds" has one big thing going for it: a legion of dedicated fans who live for the show's twisted action.
For viewers who've watched every episode without fail, the appeal of "Criminal Minds" is twofold. Of course, there's the killer-of-the-week mystery. But then there are the characters -- a team who acts more like a family – who we continue to root for as the seasons continue. Unfortunately, the lineup at the Bau has changed several times over the years, which is one of the things that make each season vary in quality.

When legendary producer David E. Kelley calls a series of crime novels “riveting,” it’s a safe bet he’ll be turning them into equally compelling television. Enter The Calling. Loosely based on The Missing File from Israeli author Dror Mishani, the drama (once titled The Missing) looks at spiritual, introspective, compassionate, uniquely named NYPD detective Avraham Avraham, a special investigator in Brooklyn’s diverse Crown Heights neighborhood. “Avi is a very complex character,” the Israeli-born Wilbusch says. His calling is solving missing persons and homicide cases through uncanny observational abilities. He’s also devoted to his work family: eager rookie detective Janine Harris, acerbic veteran cop Earl Malzone and supportive boss Capt. Helen Davies. While Wilbusch says the series retains plenty of Kelley’s signature offbeat humor, the cases reveal Avi as a “haunted soul” who does his work ...

Stephanie Szostak and Tony Curran will also recur.
The series, which is based on the bestselling novel “The Missing File” by Israeli author Dror A. Mishani, is produced by David E. Kelley, alongside Keshet Studios and Universal Television. Barry Levinson has been tapped to direct multiple episodes and executive produce the series.

The rest of the previously announced cast includes Juliana Canfield as NYPD rookie detective Janine Harris, Karen Robinson as no-nonsense Captain Helen Davies, and Michael Mosley as veteran cop Detective Earl Malzone.

[Editor’s Note: The following article contains spoilers for “Ozark” Season 4, Part 1, through Episode 7, “Sanctified.”]
The beginning of “The Beginning of the End” — the inevitable title of “Ozark’s” Season 4 premiere — flashes forward to a scene still not put in context by the time Part 1 comes to a close. Marty (Jason Bateman) and Wendy (Laura Linney) are driving down the road, accompanied by their children, Charlotte (Sofia Hublitz) and Jonah (Skylar Gaertner), as well as the smooth voice of Sam Cooke singing “Bring It On Home To Me.” A meeting with the FBI is mentioned. An event at their casino, the Missouri Belle, comes up. A clock is put, presumably, on their time left in Missouri: only 48 hours to go.
As is prone to happen in the rare moments when the Byrdes are feeling good about things, disaster strikes. A car-carrier trailer is in the wrong lane, heading straight for the family minivan. Marty jerks the steering wheel to avoid a head-on collision,...

The current fourth season of USA Network’s The Sinner will be its last. The remaining three episodes will air Nov. 17 and Nov. 24, leading to an extended Season 4 — and series — finale on Dec. 1, which will wrap Det. Harry Ambrose’s (Bill Pullman) journey.
This marks another milestone in USA Network’s original programming evolution as UCP-produced The Sinner is the last remaining homegrown scripted series on the network.
The success of a string of scripted hits, including Monk, Burn Notice, Psych, Suits and Mr. Robot, helped NBCUniversal’s USA rank as No. 1 entertainment cable network for 14 years – the longest streak in TV history — in the 2000s and early 2010s.
But, as streaming’s ascend started to put a damp on linear ratings, it became increasingly challenging for premium scripted series to be sustained by the linear ad-supported cable business model. Like other basic cable networks, USA several of years ago...

He may be starring in The Sinner on USA Network right now, but Neal Huff was a part of another show that hit the cultural zeitgeist this year, too.
On Mare of Easttown, Neal got to work with Kate Winslett and Jean Smart.
Now he's cozying up to Bill Pullman and Frances Fisher as one of the Muldoons of Hanover Island on The Sinner.
As we've been capturing time with the entire Muldoon family, we're pleased to get additional insight into Sean Muldoon, Neal's character. He's the least explored to date, but Neal assures us that it's only temporary.
We'll soon find out a lot more about Sean, beginning with The Sinner Season 4 Episode 3, which airs tonight on USA Network.
Conversing with Neal was easy-going and informative. We chatted about everything from Covid to listening to Russell Brand's podcast and how enlightening and well-balanced it is.

I’m beginning to think Harry Ambrose is too old for this ish.
The Sinner‘s Season 4 opener picks up a year after the Jamie Burns case, and the since-retired detective (again played by Bill Pullman) is still haunted by visions of the night he shot and killed the sociopath. (He continues to suffer from post-traumatic stress, and he’s only recently weaned off of antidepressants.) He and his partner Sonya (fellow returnee Jessica Hecht) travel to Hanover Island in northern Maine for some much needed rest and relaxation, but an unexpected tragedy occurs almost immediately upon their arrival. The last time we had the opportunity to chat with Michael Mosley, he was starring on the short-lived Fox series, Next.
This time around, he's landed on a bonafide hit with USA Network's well-received The Sinner, from executive producer Jessica Biel and starring Bill Pullman as frazzled detective Harry Ambrose.
The Sinner Season 4 finds Harry and his gal-pal Sonya (Jessica Hecht) visiting an island for a bit of rest and relaxation before Harry gets embroiled in a local mystery.
Michael plays Colin Muldoon, the uncle of a young woman on the island, Percy Muldoon (Alice Kremelberg), who gets under Harry's skin before she goes missing, sparking an island-wide search.
Of course, as Harry digs into her disappearance, the Muldoons, a prominent fishing family on the island, will come under scrutiny.
Other Muldoon family members include matriarch Meg (Frances Fisher) and Sean (Neal Huff), Colin's brother and Percy's father.

Fox is cutting two of its fall dramas short.
The network has announced it has canceled Filthy Rich and NeXt, just weeks after their respective debuts on the network.
Variety reported the news first, saying that increased costs due to the Covid-19 pandemic played a huge part in the decision.
Based on the New Zealand series, Filthy Rich is a southern gothic dramedy revolves around two strong, sharp women who will go to any lengths to protect their loved ones and get their due.
When the wealthy CEO of the world's largest Christian network dies in a plane crash, his wife and adult children are stunned to discover he has grown, illegitimate kids who also are in his will.
When the steel azalea matriarch of the family tries to pay them to go away, these newly legitimized heirs have very different ideas and insist on not only staying in town...
