It’s official: There are no more “Episodes.”

Showtime has acquired the rights to Bill Clinton and James Patterson's upcoming novel The President is Missing and they will adapt it into a TV series. This actually sounds like it could be a pretty awesome series.
The story will center around "a sitting U.S. president’s disappearance, with the level of detail that only someone who has held the office can know." The fact that Clinton is involved with this whole thing is cool, especially with his first-hand knowledge of being a President implemented into the story.
Showtime Network president and CEO David Nevins had this to say in a statement:
“Bringing The President Is Missing to Showtime is a coup of the highest order. The pairing of President Clinton with fiction’s most gripping storyteller promises a kinetic experience, one that the book world has salivated over for months and that now will dovetail perfectly into a politically relevant,...

Blood soaks the walls of the fog-filled entrance to a labyrinthine alley.
Bravely, Harry continues into the darkness. A siren wails hauntingly from some unknown place. There is something terribly disconcerting about all this. Perhaps he should go back? And then, in the blackness, he sees a gurney. A bloody sheet covers what can only be a body lying beneath it. And yet, Harry goes on. More blood is splattered on the concrete, even more drips from the chain link fence. And then he comes across it – a horrifying decomposing corpse hangs from the fence in front of him. And what are those figures coming towards him out of the gloom?
Things are looking very bad in the town of Silent Hill.

Back in May, we reported that Bill Clinton and James Patterson were working together on a mystery novel called The President Is Missing, and though the book won’t actually be released until next year, Clinton and Patterson have already begun shopping it around to big-name movie producers in hopes of getting someone to pick up the adaptation rights. That’s according to The Hollywood Reporter, which says the book is being treated as a “top secret property,” with potential producers receiving a watermarked pitch with an expiring link to check out before any potential meetings with Clinton and Patterson. Supposedly, though, the only producers the two of them actually will meet with this week include J.J. Abrams, Steven Spielberg, and George Clooney—so anyone less famous than those three guys is probably out of luck.

Shot well over 18 years ago, Danny Boyle's sci-fi short film Alien Love Triangle has never been released - despite a starry cast...
In the late 90s, two very different filmmakers were still in the (relatively) early stages of their careers. Mexican director Guillermo del Toro had released his first feature, Cronos (1993) to widespread acclaim. The UK's Danny Boyle had captured the zeitgeist with his second movie, Trainspotting, and was about to embark on his next film, A Life Less Ordinary (1997).

Had everything gone to plan, del Toro and Boyle could have wound up directing their own chapters of a three-part anthology movie - the sci-fi equivalent of, say, Amicus Productions' portmanteau horror films of the 60s and 70s, such as The House That Dripped Blood...

President-elect Donald Trump rang in the new year with a Twitter shout-out to his “many enemies” — and now on Friday he’s seemingly come face to face with one of the big ones: Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter.
Carter once infamously called Trump “a short-fingered vulgarian” in a 1988 article in Spy magazine, an insult that apparently still haunts Trump to this day.
In November 2015, Carter revealed that, for the last 25 years, Trump had been sending him pictures of his hands to prove his fingers are properly proportioned. In an editor letter titled “Steel Traps and Short Fingers,” Carter claimed that...

★★★☆☆ Imagine The Hours, but in this version Julianne Moore's character, instead of reading Mrs. Dalloway, reads an airport thriller, a Lee Childs or James Patterson. That's more or less the plot of Tom Ford's sophomore effort Nocturnal Animals, returning to the Lido once more after the warm reception of the fashion designer's first film A Single Man in 2009. It's gorgeous, lush and fun, but there's an underlying silliness to the endeavour which, despite occasional archness, constantly threatens to trivialise events.

The two-time Grammy Award winner is giving music (and life) lessons through MasterClass, which has brought the creative processes of other notable artists such as screenwriter Aaron Sorkin, actors Kevin Spacey and Dustin Hoffman, and author James Patterson to the masses.

This new version of Cats is bound to cause a purr.
Younger‘s Sutton Foster joined Stephen Colbert on Tuesday’s Late Show in a new adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s iconic Broadway musical — now with songs more in tune with the life of the common house pet. It’s, without a doubt, the most ridiculous thing you’ll watch today, but it’s hard not to appreciate Foster’s commitment to the material, especially as her character becomes distracted by a curtain cord, or when she prances across the stage singing about a certain “gift” left for her owner.
