The so-called “Strictly curse” has been a tabloid mainstay for at least a decade, founded on the idea that participating on Strictly Come Dancing (whether as a celebrity or a professional dancer) threatens the status of the relationship you’re in when you sign up.
Stories of its destructive power arrive like clockwork each winter. Along with forgotten B-listers and stars of Holby City and/or EastEnders hitting the dance floor, hysterical headlines will report on Strictly duos left so erotically charged in pasodoble rehearsals that they dump their spouses.
Presenter Claudia Winkleman has repeatedly shot down the curse, once saying that it’s less a supernatural occurrence as merely the Strictly experience being “intoxicating”. It is also true that dancing is an obvious aphrodisiac. Regardless whether you're rehearsing an intimate routine or not, dancing releases endorphins and makes you happy (it’s science!). 'Strictly Come Dancing's Camilla Dallerup's split from Brendan Cole was like a ''mini-death''. The dancing professional appeared alongside her then-fiancé in the first series of the dancing competition in 2004, where Brendan was partnered with newscaster, Natasha Kaplinsky. Speaking about her split, Camilla said: ''It was like a mini-death. You go through the arc of grief, anger, bitterness. ''My best friend and dancing professionally with Brendan had both gone. That felt pretty scary. It seemed like everything I'd ever wanted and worked for had been removed, just like that.'' The 40-year-old model - who is now married to actor Kevin Sacre - recalled how...

After all the excitement about the Strictly Come Dancing launch last weekend, we've now got to wait a couple of weeks to discover who can dance and who can... waddle around a floor, badly (We're looking at you, Gregg Wallace).
In the meantime, we've had the ultimate Strictly pub debate - yes, we talk about Strictly in the pub - who is the greatest champion of all time. Here is the Definitive* ranking of the 11 Glitterball Champions from Worst to the Best.
*Actually just our opinion.
11. Chris Hollins
You can't win Strictly Come Dancing and be a bad dancer. However, Chris Hollins would have struggled to reach the final in any other series and it was only really his partnership with Ola 'Chops' Jordan and the dull competition that allowed him to stroll (or should that be Charleston?) to victory.
10. Tom Chambers
Were Tom Chambers and Camilla Dallerup the best dancers in 2008? Probably not.

Strictly Come Dancing is set to start next Friday (September 27), with stars such as Abbey Clancy, Julien Macdonald and Vanessa Feltz competing for the ballroom dancing crown.
In anticipation to the start of the series, which runs up to Christmas, the first previews of the contestants rehearsing ahead of the live shows have already been released online.
But along with the conscientious training, tough competition - and, at times, chemistry - comes salacious speculation about romance between the celebrities and their dance partners.

Kara Tointon and Artem Chigvintsev

The couple dated for eight years before parting ways in 2004 amid rumours that Cole was having an affair with his celebrity dance partner Natasha Kaplinsky.
In an interview with The Mirror, Dallerup admitted that she was so devastated by the alleged betrayal that she underwent three years of life coaching and even tried hypnosis to help her deal with the break-up.

The professional dancer - who quit the show in 2008 - also revealed that the sound of the Strictly Come Dancing theme made her feel sick.

In an interview with The Mirror, Andrew Tweedy revealed that Cheryl’s family will never forgive Ashley saying:
“I know women throw themselves at footballers all the time but that’s no excuse.
“He’s a weak, weak, weak man for not being able to resist.”
“My heart bleeds for Cheryl, I know what she’s going through. This has really hurt her. She has a heart of gold and does not deserve it.

Who to invite to your red-carpet film premiere? They need to be: a) really famous, b) likely to wear something stupid, or c) given to starting fights
It's not often you'll find Simon Pegg, Joe Calzaghe, the Saturdays, Leigh Francis, James Blunt and Brian May sipping champagne and nibbling mini-burgers together, but then, wouldn't you expect the world premiere for Avatar to be one of the weirder events of all time? If you've ever organised a wedding or any other highly fraught, rivalry-entrenched family grudge match you'll have a tiny inkling of the dark art of compiling a film premiere guestlist.
True, attendees may vary in quality; the Cristal combo of Brad and Angelina which lit up last year's Inglourious Basterds UK launch was not matched by the Cava set (Danny Dyer, Bianca Gascoigne, Blue's fourth most fancied member Anthony Costa, and Celeb Big Brother loser Lady Sovereign) who...

Hannah Waterman's new fitness DVD has been defended by an expert following recent criticism of the star's methods. The former EastEnders actress's Body Blitz DVD scored ten points out of ten in a study carried out for the Daily Mail by Louise Sutton, head of sports performance at Leeds Metropolitan University. None of Waterman's rivals in the workout disc market - including Davina McCall, Jessie Wallace and Camilla Dallerup - managed to score as highly in the investigation. Sutton commented: "Despite recent claims by her DVD workout rival Coleen Nolan that her approach is 'unhealthy' and 'unrealistic', (more)...

Kevin Sacre thinks his fiance Camilla Dallerup should take over from Alesha Dixon as a 'Strictly Come Dancing' judge. Kevin - who plays Jake Dean in 'Hollyoaks' - believes Camilla, a former professional dancer for the BBC show, would make a better job of judging the celebrities than Alesha who replaced Arlene Philips on the last series. The 31-year-old actor said: ''Lots of people come up to her and say, 'Why aren't you on the judging panel?' I know I'm biased, but I reckon Camilla would be a great judge. For me, it's not the same show without her on it.'' Kevin would ..

Camilla Dallerup has claimed that she didn't want to leave I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!. The dancer, who quit the show after just a few days in camp, explained that the programme's doctors advised her to walk out. "I've never quit anything in my life, but I was at the stage where I'd nearly passed out several times," she explained. "Before I flew to Australia my doctor was really concerned about my weight because I couldn't afford to lose any more. As a dancer I'm very lean so I had no reserves to keep me going in the jungle. "I wasn't getting enough salt and sugar, and I started to get palpitations. I had memory loss, my speech was slurred and my hands were cramping - it was scary. I had to lie down after going ten steps to the toilet." (more)...

“I’m a Celebrity’s” biggest name, George Hamilton has quit the show just five days before the final.
After Jordan and Camilla Dallerup, the Hollywood star is the third person to leave I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here without being voted out by the public. So why has there been such a mass exodus this year?
Camilla Dallerup was the first to go after apparently suffering poor health. There wasn’t an ounce of fat on her when she went in, so perhaps the lack of decent food was enough to finish her off. Then again, she hardly looked like she was used to burger and chips every night, did she? Jordan was the second to quit after the public voted for her to do a seventh consecutive trial. The go-getting ballsy girl of years ago would never have let such a thing stand in her way of glory.

Movie veteran George Hamilton has walked off U.K. reality TV series I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!.
The 70 year old headed into the Australian jungle in early November to take part in the programme, but has quit just five days before the show's final.
On Sunday night's episode, Hamilton suggested he was preparing to leave early, telling fellow contestant, TV presenter, Kim Woodburn, "There are people who are starting careers and I'm at (the) point where this is fun to do. I'm not going to go head-to-head, so I'm thinking about leaving, pulling out tomorrow. It's about me saying I'm not helping this camp except in morale. I'm not doing anything. So if I take that attitude then it's best I left."
Hamilton is the third celebrity to quit the show this series - former Strictly Come Dancing instructor Camilla Dallerup and reality show star Katie Price also both voluntarily left.
Six celebrities remain to battle it out for the winner's title on Friday.

Strictly Come Dancing star Camilla Dallerup has revealed why she walked out of I'm A Celebrity.... Welcome back for another evening of bitching about Katie Price. Sorry, I mean live coverage of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, the longest titled show on TV at the moment.
First off, Camilla Dallerup has walked out of camp. Hopefully ITV get a return of a portion of her fee, since she completely failed to entertain us. Just getting that off my chest.
Kim’s snoring
George complains about Kim’s hog-like snoring. Actually, he calls her a water buffalo. Even Gino can hear the snorting sound from outside the caravan Kim and George are sharing.
Jut noticed – George looks a little bit like Archie Mitchell on Botox. Doesn’t he?
But the salacious Hamilton revelations continue – he tells us, sensationally, that Elizabet Taylor doesn’t snore. Fantastic. I’m sure that just radically altered the public perception of the serial divorcee. Wonderful George – have a...

Camilla Dallerup, the former "Strictly Come Dancing" dancer, has left the Australian jungle after just a few days. Camilla has been said to be struggling with the lack of food and sleep, so much so that she said she was too exhausted to even find the energy to shower.
