After a series of rape allegations against him, Armie Hammer has made a comeback to Instagram.
The actor posted a workout video that showed him lifting weights with one hand.
“Been a lot of land mines over the last couple years… finally found one that works for me #landminepress,” he wrote, hinting at the various controversies surrounding him.
Hammer posted a follow-up story, thanking his fans who have continued to support him.
“All jokes aside, thank you all for the love and support.”
Multiple women accused Hammer of rape, emotional abuse and violence in 2021. He has also been rumored to have a number of fetishes.
The actor has denied all criminal wrongdoing. In June, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office announced that he would not be charged with sexual assault.
In 2009, Hammer told uInterview exclusively how he played the Winklevoss twins in the film The Social Network.

David Fincher isn’t quite ready to give a “like” to the concept of doing a sequel to his 2010 Academy Award-winning film about the founding of Facebook, The Social Network.
Fincher, 61, talked about it with The Guardian in support of his new movie with Michael Fassbender, The Killer.
“Aaron [Sorkin, The Social Network’s screenwriter] and I have talked about it, but, um… that’s a can of worms,” Fincher said, and did not elaborate.
Sorkin would be up for it. In a 2021 interview, he said, “”I think what has been going on with Facebook these last few years is a story very much worth telling, and there is a way to tell it as a follow up to The Social Network, and that’s as much as I know.”
The Social Network won Oscars for Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Film Editing, and Best Original Score at the 2011 Academy Awards. It starred Jesse Eisenberg as Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg,...

Updated: Craig Gillespie’s Dumb Money, which is making its Toronto Film Festival world premiere this weekend, is still on course for a three-step platform release September 15 (in LA & NYC) and September 22, but will now break wide on September 29 instead of October 6.
The comedy also sidesteps Universal’s The Exorcist: The Believer.
Its the latest movie to step out of the way of the AMC-distributed concert film Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, which as of last week clocked more than $37 million from the three big theater circuits — AMC, Regal and Cinemark — in its first 24 hours of presales ahead of its October 13 release. It will play October 13-15, 19-22, 26-29 and October 31 and November 2-5 at AMC, Regal, Cinemark in Dolby and Imax.
Apple Original Films/Paramount’s Killers of the Flower Moon is going wide now on Oct. 20, as we reported previously; a change-up from the pic’s original plans below.

There’s no such thing as dumb luck when it comes to good money.
“Dumb Money” is based on Ben Mezrich’s “The Antisocial Network” book, charting the 2021 GameStop short squeeze that changed Wall Street forever. Rebecca Angelo and Lauren Schuker Blum adapted the book. Craig Gillespie directs the feature adaptation, which stars Seth Rogen, Sebastian Stan, Pete Davidson, Paul Dano, Vincent D’Onofrio, Dane DeHaan, Shailene Woodley, and Anthony Ramos.
“The Batman” alum Dano stars as real-life YouTuber Keith Gill. Rogen, meanwhile, portrays the head of investment firm Melvin Capital, Gabe Plotkin, who tries to figure out the reason behind his big financial loss.
Rogen told Vanity Fair that the stock market is “purposely convoluted” since it is “designed to keep people out of it.” The fascinating true story behind “Dumb Money” essentially democratized the stock market for the average American.
“The price of entry is understanding this completely bizarre system.

The official trailer for Sony’s “Dumb Money” has dropped, shedding light on how a group of amateur investors artificially increased the stock value of GameStop, the popular video game retailer.
The short squeeze occurred in January 2021 after Reddit users on a page called “Wall Street Bets” united to catalyze a market explosion. As a result, significant hedge funds and independent short sellers incurred devastating financial loss.
Based on author Ben Mezrich’s “The Antisocial Network,” “Dumb Money” similarly centers around the Reddit users behind the phenomenon with actors Seth Rogen, Paul Dano, Sebastian Stan and Pete Davidson in lead roles.
The star-studded cast also includes Nick Offerman, Shailene Woodley, America Ferrera, Dane DeHaan, Vincent D’Onofrio, Clancy Brown, Anthony Ramos, Kate Burton, Christina Brucato, Deniz Akdeniz, Talia Ryder, Myha’la Herrold, Larry Owens and Rushi Kota.

Sony Pictures has slated “Dumb Money” for theatrical release on October 20, 2023. The film, directed by Craig Gillespie, tells the true story of a Wall Street short squeeze that momentarily turned GameStop stock into the hottest investment in town.
The squeeze had initially been triggered by users of the subreddit r/wallsteetbets, an online forum, although some hedge funds also participated. The momentary skyrocketing of the video game store’s per-share value, from $17.25 in early January of 2021 to $500 just weeks later, turned the saga into a skewed David vs. Goliath story. The narrative of amateur traders and “fans” of the company driving up its stock price as a form of fandom/social protest against the stereotypical investor class proved irresistible as a juicy media story.

San Francisco, Jan 24 (Ians) US-based crypto exchange Gemini said that it will lay off 10 per cent of its workforce, citing “bad actors” in the crypto industry, the media reported.
It’s at least the third round of cuts at Gemini in the past eight months.
In a message on Slack on Monday, Gemini President Cameron Winklevoss informed staff of the latest layoffs, reports The Information.
“It was our hope to avoid further reductions after this summer, however, persistent negative macroeconomic conditions and unprecedented fraud perpetuated by bad actors in our industry have left us with no other choice but to revise our outlook and further reduce headcount,” Winklevoss was quoted as saying.
In July last year, Gemini laid off more employees in the second round of layoffs.

New Delhi, Jan 20 (Ians) Popular cryptocurrency broker Genesis has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy following the meltdown of the Ftx exchange, media reports said.
According to bankruptcy documents, the company listed over 1,00,000 creditors in a “mega” bankruptcy filing, with aggregate liabilities ranging from 1.2 billion to 11 billion, reports CNBC.
Genesis is part of the US-based venture capital firm Digital Currency Group (Dcg), which also owns cryptocurrency asset manager Greyscale and crypto-focused news outlet CoinDesk.
“We look forward to advancing our dialogue with Dcg and our creditors’ advisors as we seek to implement a path to maximise value and provide the best opportunity for our business to emerge well-positioned for the future,” Genesis interim CEO Derar Islim was quoted as saying.
Genesis filed for bankruptcy protection just days after the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) sued Genesis and its one-time partner, Gemini, for offering and selling securities without registering, according to the report.

At the time, Gamestop shares soared to unfathomable heights, making millionaires out of Redditors and costing hedge funds millions as traders scrambled to contain the situation. A lot of weird stuff has happened since the start of the pandemic, and studios are already working like clockwork to crank out film adaptations of that weirdness. In one of the most high-profile ventures, "Dumb Money" looks to tell the story of that time in 2021 when a bunch of Reddit investors broke the stock market by causing the stocks in GameStop, a barely surviving company, to skyrocket. Earlier this year, a documentary about the situation called "GameStop: Rise of the Players" became available to watch on Hulu, but this will be the first live-action retelling.
The story is based on the book "The Antisocial Network: The GameStop Short Squeeze and the Ragtag Group of Amateur Traders That Brought Wall Street to Its Knees" by Ben Mezrich. The screenplay was adapted by Rebecca Angelo & Lauren Schuker Blum, and the film will be directed by the current king of ripped-from-the-headlines adaptations,...

Exclusive: After signing on to the project in April, Craig Gillespie has lined up an all-star cast of faces familiar to the director. Sources tell Deadline that Paul Dano, Seth Rogen, Sebastian Stan and Pete Davidson are on board for Black Bear Pictures’ Dumb Money, an adaptation of Ben Mezrich’s book The Antisocial Network, with Gillespie directing. Rebecca Angelo & Lauren Schuker Blum are adapting with Ryder Picture Company’s Aaron Ryder, Black Bear’s Teddy Schwarzman and Gillespie producing.
Deadline has been all over this project going back to when the film was set up at MGM, which landed the rights to Mezrich’s manuscript in January. The project recently moved over to Black Bear, which is planning to launch sales on the film at this month’s Toronto Film Festival through its Black Bear International division led by John Friedberg. Hollywood is no stranger to competing projects that are each racing to be first or to be the definitive story, be it two Fyre Fest documentaries, two biopics about Steve Jobs or two different “Jungle Books.” But the number of projects surrounding GameStop and the investors on Reddit’s WallStreetBets is unheard of.
TheWrap counts a whopping eight different projects all announced within the last few weeks that aim to focus on how GameStop, labeled a “meme stock” by independent online traders, surged by 1500% in market share before the price came crashing down again. Those come in the form of narrative feature films as well as documentary features and series that all want to cash in on the story of the traders who really did manage to cash in.
It’s no wonder there’s so much interest; the story is a good one. Individual, amateur investors found an opportunity...

From Thomas F Wilson in Back To The Future to Nicolas Cage and John Travolta in Face/Off - when actors play multiple roles...
The dramatic use of actors playing multiple characters is a bold and rather theatrical device that has its ups and downs. It goes at least as far back as Captain Hook being played by the same actor who plays the Darling children's father in stage productions of Peter Pan, a technique largely adopted in film adaptations of the story, too (hello to Jason Isaacs).
It's used a lot in cinema too. Done well, it's impressive, but when it's bad, it's Jack & Jill. Whether used in comedy or drama or outright horror, there are countless examples of actors delivering terrific performances in more than one role at once, and that's before we even get past Cloud Atlas. Still, we've had a go at totting up 25 of the best.

They probably don't "like" this. A Ninth Circuit court ruled Monday that Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, the twins who claim Mark Zuckerberg stole their idea for a social network that became Facebook, were not allowed to back out a settlement they received from Facebook in 2008. The twins, whose story was dramatized as part of the plot of David Fincher's Oscar-nominated film The Social Network, received a settlement estimated to be worth $65 million. As part of the deal, the Winklevoss twins received partial ownership of Facebook. But the two claim they would not have settled, and argued that Facebook didn't...

This Sunday, David Fincher's The Social Network has a chance to sweep the Oscars. The highly acclaimed film about the founding of Facebook has already won a slew of awards, including a gaggle of trophies at BAFTA and the Golden Globes.
But for all the winning and success associated with Facebook, it's easy to forget that for some out there, the movie and social network represent an unforgettable loss. We recently spoke with Cameron Winklevoss, one-half of the now-famous "Winklevi" twins, who are ensnared in a seemingly endless battle with Mark Zuckerberg over the origins of Facebook.
In part one of our two-part interview, Cameron discusses his legacy post-Facebook, parties at Harvard, and his interpretation of The Social Network. Be sure to return for part two of our interview on Monday, when we'll discuss Julian Assange, Steve Jobs, America, and Mark Zuckerberg's performance as CEO of Facebook.

Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, who were portrayed by Armie Hammer in The Social Network, are to compete in the Olympics in London next year.
The Winklevosses, who took Facebook.com founder Mark Zuckerberg to court after accusing him of stealing their idea for the social networking website, finished sixth in the coxless pairs rowing event at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, and now they have their sights set on London.
The twins have started training with the U.S. Olympics team in San Diego, California.
The siblings insist their seven-year-old Facebook litigation is ongoing, and they will continue to fight Zuckerberg during their tough training regimen.
A spokesman for Facebook tells the Los Angeles Times, "We consider the Winklevoss matter closed."...

When I saw "The Social Network" for the first time, my only thought about Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, the Olympic rowers who sue Mark Zuckerberg (Jesse Eisenberg) for supposedly stealing their idea for Facebook, was "Man, where'd they find two twins who could act and row?" I had absolutely no idea that they hadn't found two twins, that, in fact, they'd found two totally different actors -- Armie Hammer and Josh Pence -- and then grafted the face of the former onto the face of the latter using digital trickery. When I learned that, I was absolutely astonished. Then I remembered "The Social Network" was a David Fincher film, and nobody is as good at invisible digital effects as David Fincher.
I just rewatched "The Social Network" again last Friday, the first time since I learned the secret of the Winklevi. Knowing that Cameron and Tyler were really Armie and...

"The Social Network" seems to have drawn more than famously private Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg into the media spotlight. After six years and a reported $65 million settlement with the Facebook founder, The Winklevoss twins, Cameron and Tyler (Aka "The Winklevi"), are making the media rounds, as well.
In an interview with The Daily, the twins say that the Oscar-nominated film did Zuckerberg a favor with its portrayal of him.
"I think the movie is pretty generous to him," says one Winklevi (we're not sure which). "You look at Jesse Eisenberg and there's definitely a sliver of conscious there and he definitely has some inner turmoil and you think he's wrestling with some of his actions and the consequences and whatnot."
But as for the Zuckerberg the twins know and hate?
"The real life Zuckerberg," the Winklevoss twin adds. "I don't think he's showed an ounce of empathy."
As for what the film got right,...

Six years. That's how long the Winklevoss twins, Cameron and Tyler (collectively known as The Winklevi in certain circles) have been embroiled in a legal battle with Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg (known as a gazillionaire in certain circles).
In case you have been living under a rock, the Winklevoss twins are Olympic rowers who were portrayed by Armie Hammer (and Josh Pence, but really mostly Armie Hammer) in "The Social Network." The Oscar-nominated film is a fictionalized account of the Facebook saga, including their claim that Zuckerberg stole the idea for Facebook from them while they were all gentlemen of Harvard.
The twins have already cashed in - Zuckerberg paid them a reported $65 million settlement. But they're still not happy with their take, so they've continued to wage their war in court... and in the media. The twins were on CNN on Tuesday night to discuss the plight of being...

The Daily, Rupert Murdoch’s new digital concern, produced a three-part video interview with Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, the amphibious Übermenschen who’ve been suing Facebook C.E.O. Mark Zuckerberg on and off for the better part of a decade. To promote the series of interviews, the Daily also released an interview trailer, a short montage that presumably includes many of the most scintillating segments of the full conversation. Most of their grievances are stale: we’ve heard it all before, and we’ve heard it in the Golden Globe–winning words of Aaron Sorkin. To demonstrate the predictability of the Winklevi’s schtick, we’ve transcribed every sentence that appears in the trailer for “The World according to Winklevi” with a few stock phrases missing. See if you can fill in the blanks.

Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, the twins who tried suing Mark Zuckerberg out of his Facebook fortune, go back and forth -- like true rowers -- on whether The Social Network portrayed them in a positive light. They can agree that Armie Hammer turned in a fine performance, but you'll notice their optimism fades after Piers Morgan notes that the film made them look, eh, a little miserable. [CNN]...
