Director Christopher Nolan’s 2014 science fiction feature “Interstellar”, starring Matthew McConaughey, Jessica Chastain and Anne Hathaway will be re-rereleased in new 70mm IMAX prints, September 27, 2024 in theaters:
“…a group of explorers make use of a newly discovered 'wormhole' to surpass the limitations on human space travel…
“…and conquer the vast distances involved in an interstellar voyage.
"'Interstellar' details the toll climate change has taken on agriculture, with corn the last crop to be cultivated.
"The scientists embark on a journey through a worm hole into other dimensions in search of somewhere other crops can be grown...".
"Interstellar" also stars Bill Irwin, John Lithgow, Casey Affleck, David Gyasi, Wes Bentley, Mackenzie Foy, Timothée Chalamet, Topher Grace, David Oyelowo, Ellen Burstyn and Michael Caine.
The film is produced by Emma Thomas and Lynda Obst, with 'theoretical physicist' Kip Thorne in a consulting, executive producer capacity, alongside executive producers Jake Myers and Jordan Goldberg.

Interstellar is undoubtedly one of Christopher Nolan’s most popular films from his career. The film was Nolan’s first foray into making an epic space film that explored the search for a new planet for survival. The film, like most of Nolan’s films, boasted an impressive ensemble cast led by Matthew McConaughey.

Nolan’s films like The Dark Knight trilogy have been re-released over the years and recently his 2020 film Tenet got re-released this February on IMAX screens for a week. Now, it seems Interstellar is following this tradition as the film reportedly will have a re-release a decade after its release.

Criticism is nothing new to Christopher Nolan. The acclaimed director has endured criticism from some critics who have labeled his films as “cold” or lacking in emotional depth. However, the 53-year-old London-born director, who has received Oscar nominations for Best Original Screenplay for both Inception & Memento (co-written with his brother), earned some scorn for his 2014 epic sci-fi flick Interstellar.
In response to criticism that his work is too cerebral and emotionally detached, Nolan seemed to make a bold move with the casting choices he made for Interstellar. In what way?
The narrative of the movie originated from a “very personal place”. He and his brother, Jonathan Nolan, wrote the screenplay together. The former explained why the original Interstellar script by his brother called for Murph to be a boy, but the Dunkirk director chose to make her a girl instead.

Not everyone likes reading books. It demands a big chunk of your time and a lot of concentration. As Mick Jagger repeatedly declares in a famous 1971 Rolling Stones song, “Wild horses couldn’t drag me away.” And for filmmaker Ashley Avis, she could not be dragged away from chronicling the plight of wild horses in her award-winning documentary Wild Beauty: Mustang Spirit of the West.
It’s an issue for which awareness is rapidly growing — because of her documentary, the newly created nonprofit Wild Beauty Foundation, and a nationwide effort to get Congress to pass legislation to save wild horses and burros.
The film graphically illustrates how the beautiful animals are callously rounded up by contractors hired by the Bureau of Land Management to cull them from grazing on federal lands in a host of Western states including Colorado, Nevada, Utah, Arizona and Wyoming.

Winterstone Pictures has secured the rights to “The Dark Between Stars” and “Love Her Wild,” by the bestselling author Atticus, who is also known as the world’s most “mysterious poet.”
Ashley Avis, director of Disney’s “Black Beauty” and the upcoming film “City of Angels” for Warner Bros., is set to write, direct and produce under her own banner. The feature film will draw inspiration from the true story of the enigmatic author, who chose to remain anonymous after the death of a close friend. There’s plenty of speculation about Atticus’s identity, and his work has garnered a massive, as well as intensely loyal, social media following.
“The Dark Between Stars” will explore the journey of a young man who flees California following the loss of his mentor and friend. He finds himself drawn to Paris, where he begins to write poetry under the pseudonym of “Atticus.

“Childhood is not birth to a certain age,” Bella Swan intones in the opening moments of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1. “The child is grown, and puts away childish things. Childhood is the kingdom where nobody dies.” Although she’s quoting 20th century American poet Edna St. Vincent Millay, Bella’s observation may very well apply to childish thoughts about the Twilight franchise too. For over a decade after the release of the final movie in the franchise, we can now admit the truth: the Twilight franchise isn’t about sparkly abstinence vampires, it isn’t about stilted dialogue or pasty, inarticulate heartthrobs.
It’s about the love between a wolf man and an infant.
To be clear, I say this not as a critique but as a praise. For all the hate that the series got throughout the period of its highest popularity, Twilight was never just...

Ah, The Twilight Saga. What a moment in time. From the release of the first installment in 2008 to the conclusion in 2012, it was an era in which online randos believed the epitome of comedy was responding to the announcement of a new piece of vampire media with, "So long as the vampires don't sparkle, I'm in!" All the while, the movie adaptations of Stephenie Meyer's uber-popular supernatural teen romance novels continued to rake in enough money to fill several dump trucks with each passing year, no matter how much their detractors roared their terrible roars and gnashed their terrible teeth and rolled their terrible eyes and showed their terrible claws.

Cinematic universes are all the rage now but it's easy to forget how recent a phenomenon this actually is. The notion of a cinematic universe didn't really exist until around 2010 when it became clear what Marvel Studios was doing with its various superhero franchises in the lead-up to the record-breaking "The Avengers" in the summer of 2012. Sure, we had Kevin Smith's films making up the View Askewniverse starting with "Clerks" in 1994 -- not to mention Universal's monster movie crossovers from decades earlier. Still, once Marvel perfected the model, Hollywood chased it down rabidly. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it fails spectacularly. But arguably nobody has done it better this side of Marvel than James Wan and "The Conjuring" universe.

Just as “Harry Potter” will get a TV remake and “The Hunger Games” will see a prequel, all the old YA franchises from the late aughts are suddenly new again. Now, the most (in)famous book series from that period may soon follow, with “Twilight.”
Sources confirmed to IndieWire that Lionsgate TV is in early development on a show based on “The Twilight Saga,” Stephenie Meyer’s four-book series about the romance between clumsy high schooler Bella and sadboi emo vampire Edward. It’s early days with no network or streamer attached to the the project, which would be the second adaptation after the film series that began in 2008 starring Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.
Meyer is expected to be involved in some capacity, and Wyck Godfrey and Erik Feig will executive produce. Sinead Daly is attached to write the show, which may be a full remake or an offshot of the original story.

Interstellar is a 2014 sci-fi movie directed by Christopher Nolan starring Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway
This movie is worth watching and is one of the great science-fiction movies of all time.
The Movie
A delight for the eyes and the mind, a movie it is hard to not watch. Besides the usual rhythm of the movies by this director, we have Matthew McConaughey (before he won an Oscar) and Anne Hathaway (who had already won one), in an action film for the box office, but with the special feature (extra) which poses questions in the manner of 2001: A Space Odyssey.
Then, there is the director´s part, which whether you like it or not is a pure show: rhythm all over the place, danger and adventures in something that in the manner of movies of the Eighties, kept you riveted to your seat because things were interesting. This is...

Some science fiction movies not only transcend time — but they also transcend genres. Spike Jonze's 2013 film "Her" explored technology's impact on human relationships. A24's "Everything Everywhere All At Once," underneath its mind-boggling visuals, remains a story about familial discords and the power of love and reconciliation. And then there is Christopher Nolan's emotional masterpiece "Interstellar," a tale deeply entrenched in the science of the future, and yet, proves if there's anything with the power to transcend dimensions of time and space, it's love.
Nolan was intentional in weaving "Interstellar" with a simple concept: that love was an incomprehensible but observant working force in our lives. Everything else surrounded it. Nolan used sci-fi elements to challenge or influence the nature of relationships between the film's characters. But in the end, "Interstellar" was a story about a father and a daughter and the kind of love that can only...

A cheering crowd at France’s Annecy Festival got a sneak peek at the hugely anticipated sequel to French family hit “Ernest and Célestine” on Thursday.
It was not disappointed-
“Ernest and Célestine: A Trip to Gibberitia” is slated for release in France in December, nearly a decade after the multi-prized original, which scored an Academy Award nomination alongside 2014 winner “Frozen.”
The 22-minute long preview screening in Annecy was followed by a short concert by the film’s composer, Vincent Courtois, playing the cello, and one of his band members on the clarinet.
“The story revolves a lot around music,” co-director Julien Chheng told Variety. “While making the film, we would wait for his demo to animate our characters. We wanted to be true to the Ernest and Celestine style which is very subtle: We didn’t want to use music to enhance emotions but rather allow the characters and...

Mackenzie Foy still has a lot of potential as an actress and is bound to keep showing up for a while, or so one would hope since she’s been getting steadily better since her introduction in the last two Twilight movies as Renesmee. Her introduction as Bella’s daughter and the individual that Jacob, aka Taylor Lautner, imprinted on was kind of awkward since not only did this mean that an adult character was suddenly connected to a child, but it would only be more and more awkward as the years passed. Since its release in 1877, Black Beauty has been published more than 50 millions times and seen at least a dozen screen and stage adaptations—most notably for this millennial, a 1994 film version featuring David Thewlis, Sean Bean, and Alan Cumming as the voice of Beauty. With a built-in audience like that it’s obvious why Disney wanted to get in on the horse story action with their own 2020 version. The result is less an adaptation of Anna Sewell’s original work and more a hodgepodge of horse-girl narrative tropes with some Black Beauty names and loose plot points slapped on for the brand recognition, which is not to say that there isn’t an audience for this—just that it isn’t for fans of the novel looking for a faithful adaptation of the classic.

Like so many beloved children’s classics, the story of “Black Beauty” has always been run through with blunt messaging, tough traumas, and the kind of painful imagery no kid ever really shakes off. Over time, some of those more realistic impulses may be dulled down for wider consumption — the sort of thing Disney has built its animated classics around, woe to the tyke who watches “The Little Mermaid” and then seeks out its source material — but the darker elements that author Anna Sewell oriented her 1877 novel around have mostly endured through countless adaptations. Before the Mouse House’s streaming service ushers in the holiday season in December, there are a few more exciting movies and TV shows on the way, including a new D+ original film, a batch of complete seasons to binge and, of course, the latest episode of The Mandalorian season 2.
To begin with, Friday sees the debut of Black Beauty, a modern day retelling of the classic novel by Anna Sewell. Kate Winslet voices the famous horse, with Mackenzie Foy (The Nutcracker and the Four Realms) as Jo, a spirited teenager who becomes Beauty’s best friend once she’s taken from her home and family in the American West.

"How could a horse save a person?" Disney has unveiled an official trailer for a new Black Beauty movie on Disney+, which is more of a "re-adaptation" of the original novel than a remake of the 1994 Black Beauty movie. Yes, the original Black Beauty is based on a classic book from the 1800s written by Anna Sewell. The film's generic plot follows a wild horse and a teenage girl who forge an unbreakable bond which keeps them connected for a lifetime. When the horse is sold, Jo is determined to reunite with Beauty no matter what. This one stars Mackenzie Foy as Jo, featuring Kate Winslet as the voice of Beauty, and a cast including Claire Forlani, Iain Glen, Hakeem Kae-Kazim, Fern Deacon, Patrick Lyster, and Calam Lynch. Looks extra cliche and cheesy, we've seen this many times before, but horse lovers adore this story anyway. Here's the official trailer...

How can a horse save a life? That’s the drama that Disney+ will explore in its update on the classic “Black Beauty” story, which casts Mackenzie Foy alongside Kate Winslet as the voice of the horse Black Beauty.
Ashley Avis wrote and directed the new take on Anna Sewell’s timeless story that has been adapted for the screen on numerous occasions. This new one finds Black Beauty as a wild horse born free in the American West, only to be rounded up and taken away. She soon forms a tight-knit bond with a spirited teenage girl named Jo, and we see how Jo will do anything to keep them together.
“You’ve gotten closer to that filly in days than I have in weeks. They say a horse picks you,” Jo’s uncle played by Iain Glen says in the trailer. “If I fought for every horse I ever loved,...

Mulan may have overcome some serious controversy to generate a huge amount of revenue and The Mandalorian has finally returned for season 2 much to the joy and excitement of subscribers around the world, but that’s still just papering over the cracks. Disney Plus has a phenomenally deep and diverse library of content, but one recurring and entirely valid criticism of the streaming service is that must-see original titles are very thin on the ground.
Artemis Fowl grabbed some headlines based entirely on how awful the literary adaptation was, while Mulan and Pixar’s Soul are only debuting as Disney Plus exclusives due to the Coronavirus pandemic, which forced the Mouse House to pull them from the theatrical schedule. And with the obvious exception of The Mandalorian, the platform doesn’t have any TV shows that generate the same sort of buzz as Netflix, Amazon or even HBO Max’s marquee titles,...

Stanley Tucci has been added to the cast of Robert Zemeckis’ adaptation of Roald Dahl’s ‘The Witches’.
Also joining Tucci on the cast is comedian Chris Rock. Both Tucci and Rock join the already cast Anne Hathaway as the Grand High Witch, the role previously played by Angelica Houston in the 1990 classic, and Octavia Spencer who will play the role of the grandmother of the main character Bruno.
It has been reported that the new version will be staying closer to the novel than the 1990 offering which was merely a loose adaptation. The film follows a seven-year-old boy (Bruno) who has a run-in with real-life witches.
Zemeckis, as well as directing, will also pen the script. He will also serve as producer with his partner Jack Rapke through their banner ImageMovers, along with Alfonso Cuaron and Guillermo del Toro.
