A certain actor has been taking over Hollywood as of late, and his name is Glen Powell.
The actor, hailing from Austin, Texas, has a long list of credits to his name, with various appearances on television series over the years. But, he reached movie star status after starring in two of the biggest films of the last two years.
Both Top Gun: Maverick and Anyone but You were bonafide commercial hits, but they are far from the only series and movies of Mr. Powell's you'll want to add to your must-watch list.
Powell's acting career started with a small role in Spy Kids 3-D Game, and a few years later, he went on to star in The Great Debaters alongside Hollywood heavy hitters Forest Whitaker and Denzel Washington, who also directed it.
More roles would follow that, including guest stints on CSI: Miami, Rizzoli & Isles, and NCIS.

Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney brought their charms together in the 2023 rom-com blockbuster, Anyone But You. The project ended up becoming a hot topic thanks to their savvy marketing and the leads’ electrifying chemistry. It is considered a sleeper hit, breaking box-office records, which is uncommon in the genre.
A still from Anyone But You
While the latter made her debut in the rom-com genre, Powell is no stranger in the same as his rom-com debut happened with Netflix’s Set It Up, which has a much higher score compared to the theatrical project.

Glen Powell is a triple threat (if you count the producing part) in Richard Linklater’s “Hit Man.” Powell co-wrote, produced, and stars in the upcoming feature from Linklater, reuniting the duo after “Everybody Wants Some!!”
In their new film, Powell portrays professor Gary Johnson, “who moonlights as a fake hit man for the New Orleans Police Department. Preternaturally gifted at inhabiting different guises and personalities to catch hapless people hoping to bump off their enemies, Gary descends into morally dubious territory when he finds himself attracted to one of those potential criminals, a beautiful young woman named Madison (Adria Arjona),” per the film’s synopsis. “As Madison falls for one of Gary’s hit man personas — the mysteriously sexy Ron — their steamy affair sets off a chain reaction of play acting, deception, and escalating stakes.”

The ultra-charming and very handsome actor Glen Powell is having quite a run right now, but my dude is far from an overnight success. His first role was as "Long-fingered Boy" in Robert Rodriguez's "Spy Kids 3" more than 20 years ago, and since then, he's been steadily building his way to stardom. Small roles in "The Great Debaters," "The Dark Knight Rises," and "The Expendables 3" laid the groundwork for his star-making, charisma-filled performance in 2016's "Everybody Wants Some!!" In 2018, he helped resurrect the rom-com with the one-two punch of Netflix films "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society" (a delightful and underrated gem) and the more popular "Set It Up" opposite Zoey Deutch, which launched him to Internet Boyfriend status.

Zoey Deutch (Not Okay), Jonah Hauer-King (The Little Mermaid) and Ruby Cruz (Bottoms) will star alongside Jaboukie Young-White (Rap Sh!t) and Josh Segarra (Scream IV) in the high-concept romantic comedy The Threesome from Star Thrower Entertainment (King Richard), Filmopoly and Jupiter Peak, which has wrapped production in Arkansas.
Directed by Chad Hartigan (Morris from America) from a script by Ethan Ogilby, The Threesome explores the aftermath of one impulsive, seemingly innocuous decision. When a young man’s perennial crush leads him into an unexpected threesome, he thinks it’s his ultimate fantasy come true. But when the fantasy ends, all three are left with sobering real-world consequences, forcing them to take responsibility for their actions — even if it means compromising the lives they’ve always envisioned.
The film is produced by Tim White and Trevor White for Star Thrower Entertainment, Vince Jolivette for Filmopoly, and Steven Shapiro for Jupiter Peak.

While no one will ever know exactly what bonds celebrity couples together, there's one thing that is for sure when it comes to Jimmy Tatro and Zoey Deutch's relationship: they share a wicked sense of humor. The couple have been going strong since at least 2021 when they confirmed their romance on social media, but other than that, they've kept their romance pretty private.
One thing Deutch has been vocal about, however, is how much fun - and mischief - she and Tatro get in together. During an interview with Kelly Clarkson in December 2022, Deutch opened up about a mishap they had while traveling in Monaco together. "We were leaving an event very early in the morning," she recalled. "And we, I don't know how, somehow ended up on the track for the Grand Prix in Monaco. And they were all like, coming on and bringing all the cars on for the Grand Prix.

For all involved, prolific author and cultural critic Chuck Klosterman’s 2008 book “Downtown Owl” sets the stage for a number of firsts. For starters, it’s Klosterman’s earliest fiction novel and is the source at the heart of Lily Rabe (“The Tender Bar”) and Hamish Linklater’s (“Midnight Mass”) joint directorial debut which just premiered at the Tribeca Festival.
If only the freshness associated with all these firsts was felt in the film by Rabe and Linklater, who are both creative collaborators and real-life partners. Instead, something feels stale, strange and out-of-focus right at the start of “Downtown Owl,” a cold and aimless 91-minute feature that makes its compact runtime feel anything but, while broadly navigating its small town rural tale with little insight and even less purpose.

Given the speed he usually works at, we'd be surprised if Clint Eastwood hadn't already finished his latest film, legal thriller Juror #2, but he's still in pre-production, adding actors. The Night Agent's Gabriel Basso is the latest to leap aboard.
Juror #2, written by Jonathan Abrams, has Nicholas Hoult, Toni Collette, Kiefer Sutherland and Zoey Deutch starring in the story of family man Justin Kemp (Hoult) who, while serving as a juror in a high-profile murder trial, finds himself struggling with a serious moral dilemma… one he could use to sway the jury verdict and potentially convict — or free – the wrong killer.
Basso – who also has another Netflix project called Trigger Warning on the way and will be the main antagonist in the Strangers remake movie — is playing the man standing trial.

Juror #2: Night Agent star Gabriel Basso is in talks to join the cast of Clint Eastwood’s final film
The Night Agent‘s Gabriel Basso could have a new assignment now that he’s in talks to join the cast of Clint Eastwood’s next and final film, Juror #2. Eastwood directs from a script by Jonathan Abrams, with a story during a murder trial. When one of the jurors (Nicholas Hoult) seeks to protect the defendant without putting himself in jeopardy, he progressively realizes he may have caused the victim’s death in a careless driving accident. With the dark truth looming, the juror must decide to lie and reveal the truth about the case. Does he turn himself in? Does he let the defendant hang? Toni Collette will play the prosecutor in the complicated legal matter.
The 92-year-old filmmaker, who directed Gran Torino, Sully, The Bridges of Madison Country, and more, welcomes Hoult, Collette, Zoey Deutch, and Kiefer Sutherland to the cast, with Basso circling a mystery role.
