Jill Soloway’s newest show, “I Love Dick,” based on the acclaimed novel of the same name by Chris Kraus, is a part fiction, part memoir take on an artist’s growing obsession with a man called “Dick.” With Kathryn Hahn playing Chris and Kevin Bacon as Dick, the show frames Chris’ obsession with Dick as being the sudden inspiration for a rejuvenation in her art as well as her sex life with her husband, portrayed by Griffin Dunne.
In both the novel and the show, Kraus’s sexual frustration manifests itself in a series of short stories, made up as letters to Dick. To celebrate the upcoming release of the series’ first season in May, Amazon is launching a microsite under the title, We Will Not Be Muzzled, allowing people to write in their own letters to Dick.

Academy Award winner Christian Bale might not be the first name that springs to mind when thinking of former Vice President Dick Cheney – but this is the performer reportedly now on board for the lead role in Adam McKay’s planned film about the controversial figure. While the project currently remains untitled, the movie will also feature Academy Award nominees Amy Adams and Steve Carell.
The film continues a move into more socially relevant work by filmmaker Adam McKay – also an Academy Award winner – after the success of 2016’s The Big Short. This Dick Cheney movie will see McKay bring the producers of The Big Short back together – as his Gary Sanchez producing company reunites with Plan B’s team – including Brad Pitt. The project also will cast Steve Carell as former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, and Amy Adams as Lynne Cheney – wife of Dick.

Last week, I published an interview with Shawn Ryan, producer of one of the two best pilots from Amazon's latest batch. Today, it's the turn of the man behind the other top pilot: Frank Spotnitz of "Man in the High Castle." "X-Files" alum Spotnitz (who most recently produced Cinemax's "Hunted" and TNT's "Transporter: The Series") and director David Semel adapted Philip K. Dick's novel set in a world where the Axis powers won World War II, and America is split into an Eastern region governed by the Nazis and a Western run by the Japanese. The pilot looks fantastic (and has an opening title sequence that perfectly sets up the premise and tone) and does a good job of creating this alternate reality. Not surprisingly, it's not only the highest-rated pilot of this round, but has by far the most votes. As I did with Ryan, I emailed Spotnitz...

Former So You Think You Can Dance star Stephen 'tWitch' Boss will appear in Magic Mike Xxl.
The dancer revealed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that he was recently hired by Magic Mike Xxl co-writer and star Channing Tatum to join the cast of the sequel.
"I met with star Channing Tatum, and he asked me to join the cast of Magic Mike 2," he told DeGeneres.
Boss added that there is only one aspect of Magic Mike Xxl that has left him concerned.
"There's this other element. I have to get waxed," he said of the stripper-themed film, adding: "I'm really nervous about that!"
Boss famously competed in season four of So You Think You Can Dance, and has also appeared in three Step Up films.
Magic Mike Xxl will see Tatum's character Michael Lane and his friends Ken (Matt Bomer) and Big Dick Richie (Joe Manganiello) on a road trip through the South.

If we haven't already reached it, we must be coming close to the time when more Phillip K. Dick novels and short stories have been optioned than not. The last title to be optioned was "Ubik," a movie we haven't heard much about since the original announcement but while we assume that that is somewhere a little further down the pre-production line, there is news that an adaptation of "Martian Time-Slip" is also in the works.

Now that "Liz & Dick" has come and gone, another Lindsay Lohan TV movie is getting its turn in the spotlight: the 2000 "Wonderful World of Disney" trifle "Life-Size" which also starred Tyra Banks.
Banks will star in and produce the "Life-Size" sequel, which follows the further adventures of her doll-turned-human character Eve, according to Variety.
The project is currently in the script stages and it seems highly unlikely Lohan would be back as well.
The 2000 premiere of "Life-Size" was watched by 13.6 million viewers, which only makes the audience of Lohan's "Liz & Dick" look even less impressive.

The comic book creator is to team up with director Mitch Jenkins to work on a series of 'occult, noir flecked' short films
Next to Philip K Dick, Alan Moore may just be Hollywood's favourite ideas man. And yet unlike the iconic science fiction writer, who at least gave his blessing to Ridley Scott's Blade Runner not long prior to his death in 1982, Moore has turned his nose up at every one of the blockbuster projects adapted from his comic books. V For Vendetta, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and From Hell were all given short shrift by the British writer, apparently because no one asked his advice on how to film them.
Even Zack Snyder's faithful take on Watchmen – perhaps Moore's most brilliant work – was dismissed out of hand. But if you've ever wondered quite what a movie made with Moore's full cooperation might look like, now's your chance.

Expedition Impossible is right around the corner, and I have a lot of preview material to get your ready. If you're a fan of other competition reality shows, but don't think there is enough chance that the contestants might - fall to their death, succumb to heat stroke, or break a bone - then here is the show for you.
