Now, after a year has gone by, it seems like Coogler is officially going to direct the third movie.
This hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, but we’re pretty sure it’s going to be announced soon, based on the latest rumors. Along with the announcement of ‘Black Panther 3’, Coogler is also lined up to direct the upcoming live-action ‘X-Men’ reboot.

George MacKay and director Paul Wright are reuniting for Mission, a new drama film filming in Scotland now.
Over 10 years after the pair collaborated on For Those In Peril, George MacKay and writer-director Paul Wright are set to make another film together.
That film is Mission, a new drama that follows Dylan, an alienated man who goes on a journey of self-discovery.
Here’s a proper description:
Mission is a punk exploration of the psyche which follows alienated Dylan (MacKay) as he throws off the shackles of his solitary life in an attempt to experience the highs and lows of existence at its most extreme, embarking on a thrilling journey of self-discovery that proves both inspiring and terrifying.
MacKay was last seen in Sam H. Freeman and Ng Choon Ping’s ambitious and impressive thriller Femme, which we were big fans of. For Wright, Mission will be the first feature...

The Baby Driver actor, Edgar Wright, is somewhat of a film critic in his downtime on social media. A few days back, he shared his thoughts on Challengers, and now it’s Furiosa’s turn. Having had the opportunity to watch the film beforehand, it seems he had an absolute blast.
Anya Taylor-Joy as Furiosa in the film’s trailer.
He rates this revenge movie a solid 10/10. Wright also mentioned that the film’s subtitle, “A Mad Max Saga,” lives up to its word, reminiscent of another revenge film classic, the 11-time Oscar-winning Ben-Hur. Here’s what he had to say about it.
Edgar Wright Compared Furiosa to This Oscar-Winning Classic!
Mad Max: Fury Road was undeniably a resounding success! So, when George Miller took on the responsibility of expanding the saga and following up on the masterpiece that entranced audiences in 2015, people undoubtedly had some apprehensions.

Edgar Wright loves to talk about his favorite movies. And lavish praise on recent films as well, such as his enthusiastic response to “Challengers.” On May 7, he took to Twitter to post a long response about his latest obsession: George Miller’s upcoming “Furiosa.”
The film will make its debut at Cannes before opening in theaters May 24. But how do you follow up “Mad Max: Fury Road,” one of the most acclaimed action movies of this century? From the overwhelmingly positive first reactions, Miller’s answer appears to be: Don’t try to repeat yourself.
Wright believes Miller nailed it. Where “Fury Road” was a chase epic, “Furiosa” is a revenge film, Wright said.
“Even though I understand what it takes to make a film, I still don’t understand how Dr. George Miller does it,” Wright wrote. “I was lucky enough to see ‘Furiosa’ a month ago, and I...

Harry Potter stars have all grown into quite big public figures. While they have all continued acting in some form, they have also been striving for other pursuits. Emma Watson has gained an impressive reputation outside of her acting career. She is extremely educated, having studied at both Oxford and Brown University.

A Wheel of Fortune contestant missed out on Tuesday night (April 30) after making a “painful” wrong letter pick on a seemingly obvious puzzle. The contestant was Kimberly Wright from Apopka, Florida, a mother of all boys who enjoys ‘glamping.’ Wright faced Russ Gergely, a Cleveland sports fan from Tallmadge, Ohio, and Marie Kioski from Owosso, Michigan, who likes to play the Wheel slots at the casino she frequents. Wright struggled to get out of the starting blocks, having no money in her prize pot at the end of the first round. Things only got worse for the Florida native in the Express Round, where she threw away $7,250 on a puzzle that most viewers at home thought was easy. The puzzle board read “Du _ _ – _ Illed Platypus,” and Wright had a chance to solve it, or at least add more money to the pot by guessing a correct letter. Instead, she guessed the letter “F,...

Touhou Project began in 1997 as a series of Japanese doujin (independent) video games. It wasn’t until 2002 that developer Zun found his groove. That year’s Embodiment of Scarlet Devil set the formula: girls in frilly dresses trading barbed compliments while blasting each other with lasers. 2003’s Perfect Cherry Blossom perfected it. Since then, Touhou has grown to encompass 19 official games plus spin-offs. The newest in the series, Unfinished Dream of All Living Ghost , came out just last year. Touhou Project is more than just a series of video games. It is the river from which everything flows. In the past 22 years since the release of Embodiment of Scarlet Devil , fans have been busy mapping every corner of the world of Gensokyo. The internet is flooded with fan art, comics, albums , memes , music videos and even a multi-episode independent anime production . Touhou gave us Undertale . I’m pretty sure it laid the groundwork for v-tubers.

Italian state broadcaster Rai is under heavy fire amid allegations that it censored a planned anti-fascist monologue by prominent writer Antonio Scurati, author of international bestseller “M: Son of the Century,” which reconstructs fascist dictator Benito Mussolini’s rise to power.

2024 wasn’t the first time Gambit met a tragic end in the pop culture zeitgeist as Channing Tatum’s unmade film also has an equally sad story. It is no secret that Tatum was set to star as Remy LeBeau / Gambit in a spin-off of Fox’s X-Men franchise. The film was reportedly deep in development until Disney acquired Fox.
Gambit as depicted in Marvel Comics
However, the project never came to fruition, and producer Simon Kinberg’s obsession with one director might be to blame. According to reports, Kinberg was keen on getting director Edgar Wright to helm the project. However, Wright ultimately did not sign on for the project which might have had unsaid ramifications on the Tatum-led film.

The ultra-charming and very handsome actor Glen Powell is having quite a run right now, but my dude is far from an overnight success. His first role was as "Long-fingered Boy" in Robert Rodriguez's "Spy Kids 3" more than 20 years ago, and since then, he's been steadily building his way to stardom. Small roles in "The Great Debaters," "The Dark Knight Rises," and "The Expendables 3" laid the groundwork for his star-making, charisma-filled performance in 2016's "Everybody Wants Some!!" In 2018, he helped resurrect the rom-com with the one-two punch of Netflix films "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society" (a delightful and underrated gem) and the more popular "Set It Up" opposite Zoey Deutch, which launched him to Internet Boyfriend status.

Hey, Edgar, you’ve got red on you. Shaun of the Dead director Edgar Wright had quite a task ahead of him in making his breakout hit, but he probably didn’t bank on a horde of zombie extras going full Romero on him. But that’s just what happened during production of the classic zom-com, something he may have inadvertently prompted himself.
In a new oral history via IndieWire, Edgar Wright recalled that he had some additional sound work to get done to add to the zombification of the citizens of London, with one extra going a bit too far with his contributions. “We were taking a sound recording because we needed zombie noise, just audio only. I was sort of conducting them, and in one take, I said, “Ok, come in and attack me!” And of course, they all did and maybe because they felt so cooped up...

Juliette Binoche has racked up a slew of awards for her film work, including both an Oscar and a BAFTA for her supporting turn in the historical drama “The English Patient.” Now she is in line to win an Emmy for her leading role in another historical epic — Apple TV’s “The New Look.”
In this acclaimed drama, she portrays the iconic French fashion designer Coco Chanel who is threatened by the up-and-coming Christian Dior (Ben Mendelsohn) in post-wwii Paris. Binoche delivers a complex, carefully curated performance that has been celebrated by critics as a shining light in this lush new series.
Joyce Slaton (Common Sense Media) noted: “Juliette Binoche and Ben Mendelsohn are excellent in their roles as the conflicted Chanel and Dior, both of whom, history remembers, wound up collaborating with and/or designing for Nazi forces in Nazi-occupied France… Chanel is a more complicated figure, and yet...

Glen Powell has been hired by Edgar Wright, to go where Arnold Schwarzenegger went before in a new take on The Running Man.
If you’ve been following the progress of Edgar Wright’s mooted adaptation of The Running Man, a healthy does of patience has been required but after three years of waiting, we finally have our first real bit of news regarding the project.
First announced back in 2021, development on The Running Man has likely been affected by the global pandemic and Hollywood strikes which have disrupted production and caused many a project to fall by the wayside.
Despite calling it a ‘dream project’, the Shaun Of The Dead director didn’t really offer much in the way of updates until late last year when he confirmed that The Running Man was still alive and in ‘active development.’

“Top Chef” season 21, episode 4, “The Wright Way,” tasked the chefs with cooking meals inspired by the duality of Frank Lloyd Wright‘s architectural creations. Some were more successful than others, so guest judge Buddha Lo joined “Top Chef” host Kristen Kish for the latest episode of “The Dish with Kish” to show her what he would have made if he were in the contestants’ shoes. Watch the after show above.
Of course, Lo has been in the contestants’ shoes before. He won season 19 of the cooking competition. Then he was brought back for season 20 to face “Top Chef” champions and finalists from around the world, and he won that too. Known for his impeccable technical skill, he decided to make a dessert dish inspired by the round shapes of the Guggenheim Museum, which Wright designed. Back in 2022, we learned that Edgar Wright had added a potential new version of The Running Man to an already stuffed To Do list. Now, thanks to Paramount's CinemaCon presentation on Thursday, news lands that it has shoved its way to the top of that list, with rising star Glen Powell now aboard to star.

Three years have gone by since it was announced that Edgar Wright was coming on board to direct a new take on the novel The Running Man, which was written by Stephen King under his Richard Bachman pen name. The Running Man was, of course, previously turned into a film back in 1987 that starred Arnold Schwarzenegger – and even though that movie was very different from the source material, Schwarzenegger is still a tough act to follow. But now we know who’s brave enough to take on the challenge. Paramount has announced that Edgar Wright’s The Running Man is set to star Glen Powell of Top Gun: Maverick!
Wright is producing the film with Nira Park and Simon Kinberg.
King’s novel has the following description: It was the ultimate death game in a nightmare future America. The year is 2025 and reality TV has grown to the point where...

Originally reported way back in 2021, Edgar Wright is directing a new take on Stephen King’s The Running Man, and Paramount has announced out of CinemaCon today that Glen Powell will star.
Edward Wright will direct the brand new movie adaptation of Stephen King’s novel and he will also produce along with his producing partner Nira Park and Simon Kinberg.
King’s novel, published under the pseudonym Richard Bachman, was released in 1982, loosely adapted into the same-titled Arnold Schwarzenegger-starring film in 1987.
Deadline reminds, “King’s futuristic novel is a chase thriller set in a dystopian America in the year 2025. The story centers on Ben Richards, a desperate man who participates in violent reality show “The Running Man” in order to win enough money to revive his gravely ill daughter. The show follows Richards being chased by numerous hunters, sent to kill him.”

Glen Powell, Hollywood’s favorite rising star, has nabbed his first action vehicle.
The actor, who cemented his leading-man status with the hit romantic comedy Anyone but You, will star in Paramount’s The Running Man, a new adaptation of the Stephen King novel that Edgar Wright will direct.
Wright, who’s been attached to the project since 2021, is also producing along with partner Nira Park and genre mainstay Simon Kinberg.

Glen Powell has already played a hit man, so why not star as a running man?
The “Hit Man” actor/writer and “Anyone But You” star has officially been cast in Edgar Wright’s “Running Man” remake, as announced at CinemaCon 2024. The feature will be released by Paramount.
Writer/director Wright previously announced that he was adapting Stephen King’s 1982 novel “The Running Man” (published under pseudonym Richard Bachman) for another big screen iteration in 2021. Deadline reported at the time that Wright will be teaming with his “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” screenwriter Michael Bacall to be as faithful to the source material as possible. Handsome man Glen Powell better get his sneakers on, because he's about to become "The Running Man." Powell will star in Edgar Wright's new adaptation of the Stephen King/Richard Bachman novel, as was announced today at CinemaCon, where we have boots on the ground in the form of our own Ryan Scott. Powell will play the lead character Ben Richards, a man living in a dystopian future where people desperate for money participate in a reality game show where they're hunted for sport. He'll also likely spend the movie looking very handsome and being very charming, because that's his whole thing.
Powell stole the show in "Top Gun: Maverick," and was recently seen in the surprisingly delightful rom-com "Anyone But You." Next, he'll appear in the "Twister" follow-up "Twisters" and the Richard Linklater comedy "Hit Man," which is headed to Netflix. Powell has been working for a while now,...

It lasts roughly a minute and consists of only a handful of shots (and none of Edgar Wright’s trademark visual wizardry), yet the moment in Shaun Of The Dead when Simon Pegg’s hapless hero and his group of survivors round the corner and bump into another group is possibly the film’s most ambitious gag. Mainly because the other gang is played by a who’s who (then and now) of British comedy: Martin Freeman, Reece Shearsmith, Tamsin Greig, Spaced mainstay Julia Deakin, Matt Lucas and, at the vanguard, Pegg’s Spaced co-creator, Jessica Hynes. A finer cavalcade of cameos, you’ll never see.

Before Focus Features released Edgar Wright’s neo-noir thriller Last Night in Soho in October 2021, the filmmaker showed a cut to pal George Miller. The Australian director was so struck by star Anya Taylor-Joy’s performance that he went back to Wright with an idea.
“I said, ‘Gee, she’d be good for…,’” detailed Miller, who then said Wright interjected before he could finish the thought. “[He said], ‘Do it, do it. She’s great.’” Miller took Wright’s concise advice and cast Taylor-Joy in the title role of Warner Bros. Pictures’ Furiosa, the newest installment of his blockbuster Mad Max franchise. Furiosa is then forced to withstand many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home.

These days, actress Robin Wright is likely best known for her six seasons as Claire Underwood on “House of Cards.” Her character’s trajectory on Netflix’s often-rancid take on underhanded politics saw her ending up becoming the 47th President of the United States after co-star Kevin Spacey was forced to leave the show due to allegations of sexual misconduct. Wright collected six Emmy nominations as Best Drama Actresss and two for being an executive producer on the show. Wright also earned directorial stripes while calling the shots behind the camera for 10 episodes as well.
That experience led her to make her directorial film debut with “Land,” in which she played Edee, a woman filled with suicidal thoughts after suffering a tragic personal loss. She decides to go off the grid while moving into a grungy cabin in amongst the scenic mountains of Wyoming. Her attempts to chop wood, hunt...

Creators have been hiding Easter eggs in media for at least half a century now. You might recall that video game designers hid secret outcomes in early computer games like 1973’s Moonlander and 1980’s Adventure. In fact, it’s former Atari software director Steve Wright who gets credit for calling such secrets “Easter eggs.” Other Atari bosses were angry that Adventure designer Warren Robinett hid his name in a level of the game, but not Wright. “I said, ‘No, this is great! It’s an Easter egg in the game, and the kids love finding it. We should encourage all of the game programmers to add Easter eggs to all their games,’” Wright later recalled, per Paste. Easter eggs are all over television, too. Sometimes they hint at future plot twists. Sometimes they seem like throwaway details until years later. Sometimes they connect disparate-seeming stories into a shared universe. And...
