Review of Bedazzled

Bedazzled (1967)
7/10
Great partnership and dialogue, but the movie itself...

Bedazzled is funniest when Cook and Moore sit there and bounce dialogue off each other. Granted, Moore's pretty much the deadpan comic relief (and his constant, "You just can't stop, can you?" gets pretty monotonous after a while), but the diatribes on God, religion, the Devil, sin, etc., are pretty funny.

The movie itself is pretty basic, though, and the scenes with Dudley Moore getting his wishes seem to drag on a bit (someone else noted the first one with 15 minutes of psuedo-intellectual dialogue by the score). The only really good one is the Bouncing Nuns, and even that seems to go on a bit too long. The movie's best with just Cook and Moore strolling down a street having another exchange about God.
