Deep Throat defined and pretty much set in motion the modern porn genre and actually anticipated the massive porn industry as we know it today. There were law suits and supreme court rulings. Alan Dershwitz defended Harry Reems and William Buckley had a whole program devoted to the movie. It is perhaps one of the most influential movies of all time and it made many to question, analyze, and think, and that is the hallmark of a great movie.
