Review of Time Out

Time Out (1988)
2/10
Avoid.
7 May 2001
Tedious road movie of a young Dane who travels to the US and gets involved with a strange girl (pre stardom Arquette) and a religious right-wing movement, led by Geoffrey Lewis (without the orangutang). Some European directors have managed to make interesting films in the States, e.g. Wim Wenders or Lasse Hallström, but Bang Carlsen fails on all accounts. "Time Out" is as pretentious and slow as any of his domestic films, and is only recommended for Patricia Arquette completists (but don´t expect the dynamite of Alabama in True Romance). Allan Olsen is atrociously dubbed.
