I agree that this must be a great ironic/satiric anti-war film. It combines good special effects with great action. And not to forget: some very good looking people. (forget about the acting which is, not great...) Verhoeven comments on the totalitarian society that might come to pass if we lose our respect for human life and democracy.
Or maybe not? This might also be the misguided attempt of some kind of a fascist dutch guy who misses the good old days of the 1940´s. But to be honest, I can hardly imagine that this is anything else than the misunderstood anti totalitarian film that it seems to be. If you have seen Robocop you must agree.
