High camp, exquisite Gothic chic, rooted in the Hammer tradition.

This is a thoroughly enjoyable film rooted in the Hammer Horror tradition but with some modern trappings.

The acting isn't from the realistic tradition, but reminds me of Sixties classics such as The Avengers and The Prisoner.

Although the film is very different from the high gloss American vampire films and TV series, it still belongs to the 'vampires are cool killers and hot lovers' phylum. I prefer my vampires to be supernatural and this coven are just fashion winners.

Eileen Day is the film's main asset and the camera really shows its appreciation.

Plenty of 'intimate scenes' for me to fast forward through.
