The art of rhetoric well done.
7 December 2002
A teleology that is well woven and true to classical form. Artful writing on the part of Canin and Tolkin. If you are familiar with political philosophy, history and rhetoric you will appreciate the Emperor's Club more than the average movie-goer. Unfortunately, it lacks strong female characters - where is our Cleopatra, our Hypathia, our intelligent women who were solid and outspoken? They historically exist, but remain buried for all the intents and purposes of this film.
