Hope Ranch (2002 TV Movie)
8/10
Delightfully Surprising

Warning: Spoilers
Having been a huge fan of the B-man since his Scarecrow & Mrs King days, and more recently B5, I have tried over the years to see as many of his movies as possible. Unfortunately over the past few years his choice of projects has often been questionable, although I can't help feeling that he takes what ever he can get. This is quite a shame; as he's still fabulous on the eyes and he can act. He just needs his 'Quentin Tarrentino' break. But back onto the subject at hand.

I went into Hope Ranch with skepticism and not expecting too much, but was pleasantly surprised at what a good movie this was. The story line, while not new or original; was retold in an interesting and ultimately heartwarming way. Bruce's portrayal of ex cop out to help kids, who have fallen foul of the law with his version of tough love, was wonderful to watch. The young actors who portrayed the lost souls were great, and my only criticism is the budding romance between Bruce and June Andersen's characters just didn't fit with the movie. It was neither fully explored or explained.

Overall, a very good movie.
