personally, I love Shaman King. Shaman King is a great anime with a really nice plot.. and the animation is great! But personally, I thought that the English dub was horrible. As they change the plot that Hiroyuki Takei had originally planned out. Some differences are the name changes, which bothers me way more than it should. For example: Hao is turned to Zeke, Horo Horo is changed to Trey, Tamao is changed to Tamera, Morphine to Chloe.. and so on and so on. Another thing, they changed the whole Tao story line. En Tao, Who was originally Ren and Jun's Father- is changed to his uncle. Not only that- but they also state that En Tao killed Ren and Jun's father, which is totally inaccurate. I'm also pretty sure, that Chocolove isn't able to make most of his jokes, because they wouldn't sound the same in English. Also, they make some jokes about Horo Horo's name, which if in Japanese you add dots.. it becomes Boro Boro, which means sleazy, old, piece of trash.. things similar to that, and throughout the series they joke about it. I highly recommend picking up the manga or attempting to find the Japanese version if you're wanting to watch Shaman King, for full enjoyment.
