Lately, Disney Channel Original Movies have been great. Not so with "Read it and Weep". The promos made it look good, but the movie itself was flat and uninteresting, not to mention a rehash of other teen-type movies, including "Harriet the Spy".
Danielle Panabaker was the one shining element. Her performance as alter-ego Is was fabulous. Is was truly evil and at one point in the movie, totally out of control. Danielle looked like she was enjoying tormenting her real-life sister's character.
The ending was happy, but the plot predictable. The one teen in our house left to take a phone call and missed the last 45 minutes. It didn't hold her interest either.
