Many parts of the movie didn't make sense to me. For example, who is the fourth murder victim? The landlady, the man who died in Paul's apartment, the boyfriend, and... And who is the first man who died in his apartment anyway? Just a random person who happened to die there? Was he sent by the communists? Paul had nothing left to show at the end of the movie except his machine, but he was able to complete the cube perfectly, as the communists seem to have stolen it in the end?
There were far too many parts of this movie that are left vague for me to have any idea what the message behind the movie was supposed to be. There was far too much confusion in Paul's thoughts for me to tell who he is and to empathize with him.
