'Til Death (2006–2010)

Warning: Spoilers
Here in Thailand, in 2008, thanks to the economics of syndication, we've only just had the pilot of "Til Death".

Now any sitcom has to find its strengths and weaknesses and DEVELOP the strengths. And that takes time. And during that time, sometimes characters come and go - or have their parts expanded or reduced (so to speak). And reading the other letters in this strain, there will be plenty of that. Whether for better or worse (did you see what I did there?) remains to be seen - in Thailand, anyway.

Sometimes a format tweak is DEFINITELY for the better - like the building up of Fonzie's role in "Happy Days". But sometimes it's very much for the WORSE - like when the KIDS in "Yes Dear" started to SPEAK.

Mind you, either way, I'll probably keep watching just for a chance to see The Big Guy work.

But the reason I'm on this is the MATHS. Why did they specify the number of days Eddie and his beloved have been married? Thing is, in the real World, Brad was forty-six and Joely thirty-nine when Til Death started (I checked IMDb's profiles on 'em). This means that when they got married (in the series) he would only have been twenty-two and she - FIFTEEN! (Maybe in America's Deep South...)

Which is a reversal of the situation in "Hart To Hart", where if the couple had REALLY been the ages THEY were supposed to have been, Robert Wagner would have married Natalie Wood when he was sixteen - and Stephanie Powers would have been The Girl From Uncle when she was TWELVE!

But here, we have a couple playing OLDER than they are. Why didn't the writers just say they'd been TOGETHER for that time? (High School sweethearts - that'd've worked).

Anyhoo, I'll STILL look forward to the next TWO seasons at least. According to said letters, it appears they may be all I'll get...
