The Third Nail avoids tackiness.

Warning: Spoilers
Fine acting with an interesting storyline, this film had me guessing until the real culprit who murdered Trey's daughter is revealed towards the end.

What makes the film hold your interest is finding out about Trey's difficult upbringing and if that sheds any light on who killed his daughter.

I liked how heavy handed and suspicious the FBI were initially with Trey, and thankfully they wisen up soon enough.

I didn't like how clean-cut Trey and the other prisoners were. No stubble or ragged look etc made it less realistic.

Also the punishment metered out to the child murderer fell far, far too short of the fate he deserved. Great name for the film, the director really nailed it on the head there!.

Perhaps one message this film is trying to convey is that if you are sent to prison, it can mess your life up in many more ways than you could possibly imagine.
